Just a pleb looking to keep track of what I've watched, maybe even write some reviews or participate in discussions. Also if I do rate anime I want you to know my criteria:
- How or why? this is a category reserved for anime that transcend levels of bad
- Offensive. self explanatory
- Bad. anime that aren't well written animated or produced, but to some degree maybe likable, but it probably won't captivate a larger demographic than those that can appreciate the less shoddy qualities
- Okay. these anime at least had some competent aspects about it, but not enough to be memorable
- Decent/ personal niche. I know there isn't much that could differentiate "okay" from "decent" in all actuality, but I feel that there's a necessity to differentiate the two, because decent shows appeal to "me" where as okay shows I could see appealing more to others.
- Standard. what you expect is what you get, and you expected things to be alright at the very least and good at most
- Good. this category is self explanatory too, but I'm going to reiterate that a 7 is a good almost excellent score
- Excellent - this is a work that not only does what it sets out "good", but excels as well, it's a cut above in the fact it's able to pull in people that wouldn't normally like it and effect them in some sort of way.
- Extraordinary - this is a work that might have changed your life, not gonna lie. It's had so much impact on a general audience and was so well made that the praise it may received is well understood even if you or I may not personally like it.
- Masterpiece. this doesn't exist, but if it did you might cry yourself to sleep every night knowing that you'll never see anything this beautiful again.
Also, to who ever may visit this page, know you will rarely ever see anything above a 5. Not because I'm picky or a stickler, but because a lot of the shows that I really really like, are really really flawed for even an open minded viewer, so take these scores with a grain of salt, but understand what they denote. I'm not trying to be an objective standard just a reviewer for a more general audience.
