I haven't read the manga yet, but it was pretty evident that they crammed too much into this episode and some things weren't explained as well as they probably were in the manga. Even so, I thought it was amazing and actually teared up which is something I rarely ever do for a fictional work.

Well . . . That is op, he can call the spirits of the dead? I wonder if they can talk . . . Cause if so he can learn quite a bit if he can selectively call out to certain spirits, although 100% sure they aren't going to take that route.

Damn tears of happiness and sadness were shed ;A;,ending part got me hard too.
Wonder what Mariam told Alibaba at the end.
Sinbad badass moment too :O.
Damn Al-thamen seems like a lot of trouble.
Really great episode, enjoying this series so much.

Yes, you are, Alibaba. You are pathetic crybaby. You never notice the obvious. You make this series pathetic. I am glad this arc is finally over.

Anyway, that shadow council seemed promising.

Agree with you on Alibaba; cults are rarely very intesting though.

The resolution between Alibaba and Casim made it seem like Casim never talked to a single person before who could relate to his troubled upbringing; like you know everyone who was in the fog troop. Alibaba had troubles too so I guess Casim can completely change his entire personality now.

Sorry didn't feel much sympathy for Kassim. Yeah he had a terrible childhood and lived in poverty, but that is not an excuse for starting a war when the country was just about to be rebuilt. All those people died because of him. Flashback all episode, it's no excuse imo.

Why did Alibaba feel so bad for Kassim? Kassim even said that he always hated him and yet Alibaba still cries like a bitch when he dies.

Alibaba seemed like such a promising character at the start of the series. Now he's just a pathetic weakling.

It was a decent conclusion to this arc but it was pretty underwhelming compared to a lot of the previous episodes.

7/10

EDIT: I will raise the score to 7.5/10 because Sinbad's fight with the weapon dealer was pretty damn cool.

this arc was ok, but the reason I really couldn't enjoy it was because of cassim. In my opinion he isn't written well. All of his reasons for revolting are completely contradictory. :/

The is the first Magi episode that's actually perfect. Not a single dull moment and really engaging from beginning to end.

I got a bit emotional at the parts with Kassim. I didn't tear up or anything, but I was really feeling these moments. I never liked him. I knew he had a messed up upbringing, but I just always thought he was just a hopeless douchebag. And like a lot of great writing, they get you to feel a lot for him just before killing him off.

Okay so I guess Sinbad needs his Metal Vessels to be a badass, was a bit worried last episode since he seemed like he was having trouble with just the Black Djinn.

Finally Kassim is dead, I don't care if that sounds heartless, I didn't like him, I never did understand him and I'm not nearly as upset about his passing as Alibaba is.

The ending Rukh scene was kinda cool, the theory that the dead are all around us is kinda unnerving though haha.

Cassim had a really shitty life. In his mind, if he lived normally he would've married a brown-haired girl and had a baby but he didn't think Alibaba would marry. LOL

Dayuuuuuuuuuum, Sinbad looking like a bamf. That ending was really touching, best ending ever.

And here we go. Magi makes me cry for the first time.

Sinbad is amazing, truly amazing I love him.

The end of the episode was happy and light though

Have to say the same that the previous person did. Magi made me cry for the first time as well... Perfect episode and so emotional. I shed a tear during that Alibaba x Kassim fight/talking scene, but held it in pretty good. It was hard in the end though, I don't know how I managed it. And when it showed Alibaba crying and after that the rukhs visiting their dear ones... oh I lost it at that. I just cried... it was so touching and I couldn't hold it back anymore. I haven't cried for some time... Don't even remember the last time.
Overall it was a really interesting episode. I don't know if it's my favorite since now or my favorite of this arc. Either way it's on top three favorite episodes of Magi for me. Loved it.

Lmao. Judar is supossed to be strong and badass, yet he get his ass kicked not one, but two times in this arc. Biggest jobber confirmed.

The ending was nice, I suppose. Let's see if the new arc is good.

I liked this episode a lot. I'm also glad they kept Cassim dead, I was worried they were going to bring him back somehow. This episode was good but this arc as a whole was so boring. I'm glad that it's finally over. I hope the next arc is better, shouldn't be too hard to do.

Ah touching episode. Didn't think I'll get emotional for Kassim. Alladin bringing the magoi-ghosts of all the dead people was nice.

Overall I enjoyed this arc for the politics. Fights were ok, hopefully Alladin gets better fights in next arcs, and also I'm expecting an arc dedicated for Morgiana. So far this is kind of a typical shounen but I'm getting slight HxH vibes that's keeping me interested.

I didn't read the manga. I am loving this show. Wow. And this episode, right in the feels man. With some pretty sweet action at the end. Sinbad is a baaaaad man!! His whole squad is sweet too. Squad goals.

I was taking an anime hiatus when this came out years ago, so maybe it was super popular then. Seems as though it is not anymore. I just happened to stumble across this because of the Sinbad prequel, which I have not watched yet. Was this show a bad adaptation from the manga?

Shoot, there are tumbleweeds around here for these discussions, I don't expect anyone to answer. But if you do, thanks in advance!

This new ability of Aladdin's "Solomon's Wisdom" seems interesting! I hope there will be more explanations on it as well as what Aladdin went through...

So Judal is being manipulated by this shadow organisation? :O

Sinbad looks so badass! Wish we could've seen more of his power~ Perhaps in the next arc? I'm glad this arc finally ends, i'm not the biggest fan of this arc. Hopefully things get wrapped up nicely for the city's fate/future before the next arc begins

Almost made me tear up several different times. Especially at the end, when Kassim returned as a spirit.
(I thought he was going to come back to life and I was so annoyed! Pleasantly surprised that was not the case.)

I've never read the manga, but now I'm wishing I had since everyone said it was even sadder~

Cassim's death was really sad...wasn't particularly fond of him or anything, but Alibaba's crying made it so difficult to watch.

Holy shit though, the head floating in the water scene.

Such a emotional episode.

I also didn't like Cassim at first. He thought he could never accomplish something in a normal way. So with that he never really talked to someone how he really felt. It's normal that every human is different compared to the others, that's what makes life interesting and that doesn't mean that you're less worth.

It seems that Cassim finally understood it. It was so sad to see Alibaba running towards Cassim, saying that they're friends and he's dissipate into Rukhs. Seeing Alibaba and Aladdin crying god that touched me ;_;

I don't know what was going on with Judar, but it seems Aladdin and Alibaba had an effect on him. Otherwise Judar wouldn't had been rescued by this masked guy.

Absolute badass how Ja'far, Masrur and Sinbad with their Djinn vessels beath this masked guy, even it seems he isn't really dead? I don't know what this snake was about which came out of his head.

Anyways super nice ending. Everyone could see their deceased family or friends. I wonder what Mariam whispered Alibaba. Looking forward to the next arc :)

Ah, the payoff episode. Felt pretty damn good. All the buildup with Cassim-Alibaba, Aladdin's absence, Sinbad's lack of weapons, Balbadd's fate and the mysterious war-mongering masked man led to a pretty satisfying conclusion.

They did a good job in this episode of making me care about a character that I really didn't care about before (Kassim)

Also Sinbad continuing his role of being the OP guy who doesn't get overused

Great conclusion of this arc imo. Kassim and Alibaba finally made up, and getting to see each other one last time sealed the deal. *Alibaba x Cassim whispers in my ear* HUSH YOU--

-ahem- Anyway, I'm really looking forward to the Sindria arc! As a person who's watched Sinbad no Bokuen before this, I can't wait to see how everyone's grown up.

Too much unnecessary drama, the manga's pace is much quicker and doesn't drag on.

Also at the same moment of the manga, solomon's wisdom was explained about what it does but they just skipped it

I didn't read the manga but I felt the same way. Having seen Sinbad's adventure it completely overpowers this adaptation. I mean, the story is good, but the pacing and this forced drama just puts me off. Also, I hate Alibaba x)

That's just my opinion and wish to finish the series nonetheless.

I have a feeling Judal's just being used. Like he doesn't seem like an evil evil guy he seems kinda like Bakugo who just wants to fight everyone and showcase his power. Plus he belongs with the Kou empire and they aren't evil for the most part. Hope that masked snake guy is dead dead.

Dude, the guy killed your father, burned down your palace, forced you to join his team, betrayed you just because he didn't like who you teamed up with, and almost ruined the whole peaceful revolution you finally succeeded after squeezing every last drop of your sweat and blood. There's got to be a limit to how far the bro code applies.

felt that alibaba and kassim's "emotions" came out of nowhere.
such as the manga had much more to offer and we see only a teaser. lol

sinbad powers were badass.

so we finished balbad arc.
very enjoyed it, though i would love aladdin's power up to be better .

wonder though how they gonna fill another 7 episodes.

First of all... I love emotional episodes. I enjoy tears from time to time. This was solid.

But maaaan, I gained so much more respect for Kassim knowing he killed his dad to save his little sister from becoming a prostitute. That is a really good big bro.
