THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- 2nd pair, finally. They are too busy in their works, though, to the extend that doctor in trainee one got carried back by sempai because he got too tired. Sempai and omiai talk getting in the way are not problem for them, though. lol @ that sempai. And main pair appearing in another pair's ep. |

The only episode in this season where I'm not spoiled. I literally read every chapter of Romantica, Terrorist and Mistake. But I haven't read a single Egoist chapter so far since ever. Looking forward to it. |

My favourite Junjou pairing finally gets some much-loved screen time!! After 7 years of being together, these two are still so adorable! I love how they portrayed both Nowaki and Hiro's growth as characters and even made them self-aware of their own character growth! Let's hope we see more of them in the OVA!! |

I love the fact that they really love each other and have been together for 7 years. can't wait for next episode! |

OMG I WAITED SO MUCH TIME FOR THIS Tsumori is so cool xD love him*^* This episode was by far the cutest... I hope one of the two episodes left are about this pairing too. Junjou's seasons are too short ;__________; I don't want it to end yet! I suppose there will be 1 or 2 OVAs though, but even so... ;_______; |

Finally, Egoist. (>‿◠)✌ The kissings were pretty cute. (≧◡≦) It was hilarious when Usagi and Misaki came. #leltheserandomappearences (≧ω≦) But I hope there will be a season 4. Cause.. there's only 2 more episodes left and I don't think the story will end in these 2 episodes. o_o |

Woah! That was so cute! The couple was so forgotten, I've really missed them but in this episode Hiro and Nowaki were very good. I love Nowaki's kinda innocence but also worrying thoughts about Hiro and how he knows that Nowaki's worried about him. Excellent episode! |

What a great episode! I love this couple and I'm glad that their insecurities are slowly starting to fade. Question to the people that know a little more about Japanese culture and the manga - Why do all the couples have such an issue with people knowing they are in a same sex relationship? Is it because of the year the story takes place, or is it because Japan is not as accepting to same sex couples as the rest of the world? |
So glad that I'm not a huge manga reader, because the manga readers WHINE WAY TOO MUCH and have to RUIN every adapted anime for the ANIME ONLY WATCHERS! |

Call me a hopeless dreamer, but this whole season (with the story progressed so far as it is) screams SEASON 4!!! to me. I really hope we will see more of this anime. But please don't let us wait 7 years again. Knowing almost for sure that the two remaining episodes will be about the Romantica couple, I think it's kinda sad that they only teased the other couples in this season. But I understand their reasoning (Studio Deen's/Nakamura Sensei's): not long ago there were rumors saying that Junjou Romantica will soon reach the story's climax and might end not too far in the future. So they pushed the Romantica storyline (the main couple after all) in this season, while neglecting the side couples. My guess is that within the next 2-3 years Junjou Romantica (probably Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, too) will end. I think we will get 1 or 2 anime in this time that will bring the anime to a conclusion. That might be wishful thinking. But I would appreciate it. I smoke and eat fast food sometimes. I want to make sure to see the final conclusion of Junjou Romantica happen while I'm still alive :'DD |

So they pushed the Romantica storyline (the main couple after all) in this season, while neglecting the side couples. I'm pretty sure they WILL make anime for whole series but if I'm seeing list of chapters right, they definitely won't make Season 4 as a follow-up. I mean, they don't have enough material for half of series, I think, so we may wait some time for closure. I'm not really surprised other couples are sidelined, because they are like that even in the manga and unless you stretch their chapters incredibly, there is just no point in giving them more time than one episode. Nakamura focused on Romantica and so does the anime, so I don't think it's pushing: it went that way naturally. They won't make something outta nothing, unless they'd add some filler which they never did with this series. If anyone is to blame, then it's Nakamura for offering heaps for Egoist and Terrorist. But then again maybe it's for the best, because... ... Because Egoist gets hit with Romantica's "problems from nowhere" in person of that stupid plot device character Tsumori and Nowaki's doubts which he shouldn't have after 7 years of being in a gay relationship. Tsumori is Ijuuin-sensei The Second, just 100 percent more stupid, because his reasoning is so shitty and Hiro-san should just kill him with a Book Overdrive. He doesn't serve any purpose outside unnecessary meddling which is silly at this point of Egoist plot. Oh, you're caring for you lover and thus doing shitty work, let me act all predator-like on you and your boyfriend. Okay, it CAN be a problem, but the way it's played... 15 minutes more and I'm sure Hiro-san would think about breaking up with Nowaki because HOW DARES HE WANT TO SPEND TIME WITH HIS GUY. Oh God, come on, boys, 7 years. SEVEN. YEARS. Nowaki at least sees his doubts are stupid and unfound and shifts his focus to thinking about what-ifs, thank God to that. ... Shizles, the way I ramble about Romantica makes me thing I'm growing out of this series. No Hiro-san hitting people with books and look what's left of me. |

@Helenus: I don't think there will be a 4th season. Volume 16th and Volume 20th already got OVA right? It's better if we get new season for Sekaiichi Hatsukoi season 3 or Yokazawa novel gets TV series or maybe some OVA's for Junai Romantica XD @Ciara: If anyone is to blame, then it's Nakamura for offering heaps for Egoist and Terrorist. Nope, that's not Shungiku-sensei fault. If you notice this, the only reason why she is focusing about Junjou Romantica couple is because of the fans. Some people love Junjou Egoist, few people love Junjou Terrorist and Junjou Mistake. And about anime, first if she did 2 episode of any couple, let's say Junjou terrorist, like ep 3 and 4 is for Terrorist, it will not sell properly. So what she did is, episode 3 for Romantica and 4 for Terrorist so that Romantica fans can buy vol.2 (episode 3 and 4 is vol.2) So you can say that it's the Fujoshies/Fudanshies fault in Japan. Oh, and I'm sure that the most liked couple is Junjou Romantica. |

I think no one will deny that Nakamura-sensei is the 'big player' in regards to yaoi anime. I wonder how the market will change once she finshed her work and everything is animated. I could think of two possibilities: 1. The yaoi anime market (which was always tiny) will become even more tiny and will vanish - maybe an OVA or a movie every few years. 2. Nakamura leaving will break a wall. New mangaka will allow their works to be animated (maybe Nekota Yonezou) and yaoi anime will experience it's 'golden age'. I would like option 2. But I am afraid option 2 is more probable. |

Is it because of the year the story takes place, or is it because Japan is not as accepting to same sex couples as the rest of the world? I don’t live in Japan or anything (I can speak Japanese to some degree though), but from what I’ve found out, while there isn’t a lot of hate (in fact there is surprisingly little hate for a country with such an invisible LGBT community), there isn’t a lot of support or awareness either. It’s more just something that nobody really talks about, and as a result there is a serious lack of LGBT awareness in Japan. There is also a common misconception that gay men are the same as transgender women. I think a lot of this is because Japanese culture is less individual-oriented and more about keeping the peace in the community, avoiding conflict, more group identity focused and that kind of thing, so people tend to refrain from talking openly about their sexual orientation or being outspoken about anything, so they don’t speak up much about LGBT awareness in general either. So for Japanese people I think they feel like it’s better to just not say anything about it publicly, especially at work, since there aren’t really many anti-discrimination laws to protect them if anything goes wrong, and they never really know how people/workplaces are going to react if they find out. |

Oh, and I'm sure that the most liked couple is Junjou Romantica. It's not like this will even hit 2k-3k sales, even Hybrid Child will keep the sales record better than this current season. Junjou Romantica is currently flopping in it's anime form, DEEN is retarded too, making a new season 7 years after the second one. Shungiku has no fault in this. However, Shungiku makes another manga about editoring in japan but she's the who's currently dancing in her editors hand and not writing what she wants (there's some really nice chapters in SiH, while they also have some of the formula JR has), in a series like SiH where there's more balance between the couples, she probably does whatever she wants, while in JR she has these bondaries to keep this being a top BL seller. Japanese fujoshi/fundashi don't have good standards in my opinion, since JR has been going on since 2003 and all the couples suffer from overused tropes, cliche and situations. The worst offender being Romantica of course. I always believed that Shungiku can truly write good stuff when she wants, without shit like noncon etc, but since BL is the niche of a niche, good writing is not that necessary, eh. |

Oh, I forgot to say this, only Kadokawa shoten BL is allowed to get TV series. XD Well, if you remove the sex scenes from manga like Mousou Elektel or Hidoku Shinaide (just like they removed it from Junjou Romantica), there still remains a very good and funny story/plot. But yes. Her (and the majority of other mangakas) works will most likely never see Tv Screens. Sadly. |

It'd be a while till we get a season 4. The anime is almost caught up with the Terrorist & Egoist acts in the manga (there are like 1 or 2 acts that anime hasn't covered). However, there's still a lot of Romantica acts for another season. We'll probably get a season 3 of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi before a season 4 of Junjou Romantica, but there are no announcements from Studio Deen for any of the next seasons. |

OMG, I've been waiting for SO LONG. LIKE ACTUALLY. IT'S SO LATE. But at least we got it, guys! We got Egoist! (Well, obviously, but I'm still a bit worried that it might not get another.) I'M SOOOO FREAKING HAPPY TO WATCH EGOIST. LITERALLY MY FAVORITE JUNJOU PAIRING. They're so cute! I actually blushed so hard when Nowaki went to hug/ cuddle Hiro. >////////////< I really, really missed these lovable idiots. I think they're perfect for each other. And they have misunderstandings, but they work past them and learn how the other reacts to certain situations. They're both tsundere in some form - Hiro much more so than Nowaki. Both don't want to bother the other with what they figure is mundane, but at this point their other understands how they truly feel, and I find that to be absolutely precious. ^_^ Otherwise, Nowaki's coworker annoys me quite a bit. And Misaki's reaction was so funny and cute! Hahahaha! Perfect, really! XD But didn't Hiro already know that Usagi had a significant other/ flatmate? Maybe I'm just confusing it with something else...? Another Romantica next week though. Kind of annoying to be honest. I was hoping for two Egoist episodes in a row, but I guess not. Hopefully episode 12, but I highly doubt they'd end it on Egoist. We can always hope though. At least an OVA maybe? (PLEAsE?) I might actually have to go back and watch the past Egoist episodes or get some fanfiction/ doujinshi to be content with this situation.... Not that I hate Romantica or anything. I loved last episode, but Egoist is the best. This episode is at least a 11/10 for me. |

This. In a family like Hiroki's, having a gay son would be nothing short of anathema. As for the workplace, being openly gay can cause you all sorts of problems. It may lose you a promotion or cost you your job, depending on your luck/specific environment. Japan can be remarkably homophobic, it's not the kind of place where you can just mention you're in a gay relationship and not expect some degree of backlash. How great the backlash will depend on your particular situation. Expect some snickering, some less than veiled jokes at your expense and an overall feeling of awkwardness. This becomes considerably worse if you're in a position in which you work for someone else. In itself, if you're gay and keep it yourself then it's more or less fine but imagine you have to skip work because your same gender partner is sick. All of a sudden you become a slacker while if you were tending a sick opposite gender spouse you'd get a greater degree of sympathy. As for this episode, Egoist is the only JR pairing I truly love so I absolutely adored it. Did not care for shoving the main pairing, it already has the majority of the season dedicated to it, but it served a purpose by showing that Hiroki got over Usami completely. That was beautiful to behold. I love how despite the daily grind being so demanding on the two of them, Hiroki still manages to understand Nowaki and even antecipate his insecurities. That letter to his parents was a true highlight. I know want to see Nowaki meeting Hiroki's parents. |

I cannot express how happy I am that Hiro finally found out that Akihiko and Misaki are a thing. I’ve been waiting for that for so long, lol. Hiro’s utter surprise was great, and Misaki’s fear of Hiro (who apparently didn’t even recognize him) was hilarious. I really wish that Hiro and Nowaki could see each other more often, though. That makes me sad. Oh well, at least Hiro gets summer break. |

Academics work long hours, even on weekends. Note that PhD students/candidates don’t get time off during the undergrad student breaks either. I can’t speak for doctors but I’ve heard they’re very busy people too. So yeah, this basically means the Egoist schedule problem never ends. D: |

See? Progress in my Egoist couple. After all these years, Hiro knows how Nowaki is, so he clearly shows him his actions so that it puts Nowaki's mind at ease about the arranged marriage proposal. Unlike Misaki, who still can't understand his own feelings sometimes or what to say to Usagi when all Usagi asks for is 3 friggin' words of I love you >.> Nowaki is too adorable >///< when he's asleep and when he glomps Hiro saying his name repeatedly. Egoist has always been my favourite couple but I liked all the couples. Now, I only care about egoist tbh. So sad they only get one episode this season :( I mean, maybe it's because I am older now and I can clearly see that all the other couples are not in a healthy relationship. Mistake is ok, but romantica and terrorist are so possessive. Hiroki and Nowaki solve their problems by talking. It's great. They are super cute and could actually be a real life couple. THEYRE HEREEE. Honestly I only really watch for the side couples so its a shame there's only one episode for each of them. This episode was cutee I mean I felt Nowaki I was missing their cute moments, but I still loved watching them be cute about eachother. Its nice to see their relation mature (unlike a certain main couple) (Omg was the last post here almost 5 years ago??) |
