----------------------------------------
"Tomorrow from there" - That was just about the most charming music video / short I have watched in the past year.

Akemi Hayashi really is a great director. My favourite work from him is still Episode 5 of "Space☆Dandy" - "A Merry Companion Is a Wagon in Space, Baby", which was about the young orphan Gentooan girl named Adélie. (The best episode of the entire series in my opinion by the way.)

I loved the music by Avaivartika as well.

"Him" ? I'm pretty sure Akemi Hayashi is a woman.

It was okay and had a good animation, the music was okay too... But not outstanding. I feel a bit disappointed with this one, maybe I was expecting too much from it. ^^

Kind of conventional and not very interesting.

The story didn't do much for me, but I enjoyed the song and the art.

This was very nice. The music and art were very gorgeous and relaxing ^^

Looking back to the other projects, I was somehow expecting she would be violently murdered at the end of the PV.. Glad it wasn't that way.

"Urushibara Ruka. The mannerisms and voice of a woman... No... More feminine than any woman. But he's a guy. Taller than Mayuri, but so very thin... But he's a guy. Looks great in a miko outfit... But he's a guy. It's already twilight And yet, it's so hot. The cicadas are crying. But... He's a guy."

well, the song was nice, the animation was average, as for the substance, it might as well have been a picture drama.

"Living the lukewarm life of a part-timer is so comfortable. When you're sincere about doing something...you're stalked by the fear that there's no turning back. And as time passes, your options definitely narrow. I've gotten older."
- Naruo Tanada, Solanin

So we have another music video this time, but instead of something wacky and out of this world, it's a quiet, pastel rendition of a young woman living the daily grind in the not-so-distant future. I'm always intrigued by these types of stories, as it speaks wonders to see how little really changes, even as technology continues to change our daily life. We still see people struggling to find something more to their lives. Adventurers, dreamers, hopeless romantics and artists struggling to put food on the table before putting paint on a canvas; they're ordinary people trying to affirm that there's something greater to their lives. Yet, reality always ensues. Is here when the smallest little moments in life become those miraculous moments. Something as simple as a building lighting up at the perfect moment could feel magical.

Akemi Hayashi, who has done key animation on a number of Gaianx works on top of a number of Shoujo works such as Fruits Basket, Bokura ga Ita, Revolutionary Girl Utena and Ouran High School Host Club did this short, and honestly, it's hard to make the connection here. Upon completing this episode, I immediately went to look up that Solanin quote because that's what it reminded me of. Except, well, with that Wonderland-esque escape somewhere in the middle of the short. There doesn't appear to be any deeper meaning to the short, but I really liked its whimsical nature, and so I think it's fine as is.

Here, we see a girl that is bored of her everyday life because it's all the same, only having technology as a means to entertain herself. She then finds a paper airplane soaring in the breeze and she starts seeing the world in a brighter perspective.

If she'd continue to work hard and reach for her dreams as symbolized by the paper plane, she'll eventually end up living in a nice modern building, eat good food and live the wonderful lifestyle she always wanted. This music video is a very inspiring one indeed.

If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).
