That was a really well done episode. All of the emotions, in my opinion, were displayed properly. I had always wondered why Toshi's parents left him alone and not his sister. Finding out it was because of financial reasons....I don't know what to say to that. I guess they were just really weak-willed parents...although you do see that happening in the real world too, where parents will abandon children because they can't afford to raise them. *Shrugs*

But I'm glad Miho and Toshi seem to be getting onto good terms with one another. I wonder how this will affect Toshi's play against Cuba.

Ah, i don't know, most of it felt forced to me.

I think the director is much better at doing baseball games.

Well it's definitely not the Major we're used to, but it was still alright.

I don't agree with the directing part being weak, i think it was pretty darn good and well paced. Seeing Toshi's background was something i was looking forward to, and it delivered, though i'd prefer it a tad longer. While he was sleeping in the hospital, the dream he had reminded me of Higurashi, especially Miho's eyes were scary XD

Major S5 has balanced the slice of life and baseball parts quite well so far and hence, it's become the best of 5 for me. Nothing left to say except where the hell is the 15th episode!!! =)

I'm also enjoying the added background+baseball episodes... and mega-bonus points for the In-N-Out bag of fast food that Shimizu and Miho are enjoying for their lunch in the park... you can't come to California and not get In-N-Out... someone on staff did their research, haha.

... wait, where's Chiharu?

The episode just shows how awesome Mamiko Noto is, able to give baseball players health problems with her heavenly voice.

Yeah I wish Toshi could find his parents and beat the crap out of them. Other than than, good episode.

Boring episode, as most of the Toshi-focused ones are.

I'm pretty sure this was already explained back then, when we got to know that Toshi was left by his parents.

Well glad that Toshi was able to resolve that with his sister, probably would have been pretty tragic if she just went back to Japan after that. Especially if Toshi did sit out the next game, she probably would actively avoid Toshi if that happened, even if he did try to call out to her.

That eyecatch of the Japan team photobombing Toshiya and Miho cracked me up.

I laughed at the injured catcher making a comeback, only to be injured again. That dude has some major bad luck... (Or a difficulty to take care of his body)

I also had the same reaction as Goro when Shimizu told him that it wasn't her fault. Even if it was unintentionally, it was still her fault. It would have been dramatic though if they never met again.

Fantastic episode, I really like that this drama is being dealt with now and not dragged out.

tbf, they could've said something, or have him go to his grandparents before just randomly leaving.

also fuck that dad, taking money and then leaving. ughhh

I think his mom is trying. tbh, I don't feel any hatred towards her. she even thinks she's undeserving to see her son again. She worked really hard to raise miho by herself after the dad left.

Toshi scared me when he had that attack.
I'm glad that she didn't leave and they are now talking on the phone!
Why did Momoko and Shingo come without Chiharu, that's not right!

I thought the drama was handled pretty well, honestly. The dream was overly exaggerated, but then it was a dream and didn't represent Toshiya's true feelings.

I'm glad that Shimizu caught Miho at the airport and that Miho and Toshiya are now talking on the phone.

People on this board several years back are way too picky. This was extremely well done and just added more to an already great show. Season 5 just gets better.

the episode remind me the melodrama episodes in S1, they made it well.
toshi became in this episode much more dramatic character, though i would say poor toshi he really didn't have to say those words before collapsing.
i loved that the cliffhanger were as in the last episode, it really makes major better.
and momoko came only with shingo without chihiro? little strange...

Well ...reunion went worse than expected with the straight denial, at least everything ended well.

Toshi's mother, who's less scum than the father, has no right returning to her son but the least she can do is meet him to apologise although on second thought Toshi may have an even worse reaction meeting her compared to Miho.
