I WANNA KNOW ABOUT SATSUKI'S BLACK TOENAIL. Wtf.

I actually LOVED that piece. She was prepared for this kind of thing it seems. That blade she's replaced her toenail with seems awfully similar to Bakuzan, doesn't it?

I thought the same but honestly I hope it's something stronger and sharper than Bakuzan, something that can cut Life Fibers. I was about to close the window after the ED ended, so glad I didn't.

LOL Ishin Matoi and Satsuki's father are the same person.

Thank you, BatStark. The show is slowly getting closer to the true father card.
Oh. My. God. My rating for Kill la Kill will skyrocket if they keep it this way. The action, the romance, the purple shining private parts - or sometimes not, and I mean Gamagoori's thing when he was in the chopper, lolololollllll oh man and yes Nonon, great job wearing that outfit.

So now we have elite 5, Aikuro included. And Satsuki, blowing up big stuff fits your personality perfectly. I don't really know what your crazy mother was babbling about, rage and stuff, you're still baddass with that toenail. I do hope it's something that can cut through Life Fibers, maybe something your butler brought you on a tray along with that tea? I love how this whole episode revolves around rage. I'd let Ryuuko go berserk once in a while. Poor Senketsu, though.
Also, Satsuki wearing her old uniform in the OP:
is this some kind of foreshadowing? Maybe her Shinra Koketsu will be red and white.
Also Kokopelli said something interesting
Kokopelli said:
Apparently "shin" refers to "God" and "ra" refers to clothing, so I assume the intended meaning is something along the lines of "God-robe" as with "Kamui". "Koketsu" means "jaws of death" or "tiger's den," and in Episode 17 Ryuuko said the would leap into the jaws of death and tear its throat out.

so we'll have to wait and see, I guess.
Can't wait for the next, episode, can't wait!

I'm pretty sure she says kouketsu and not koketsu. That's what you get for using bad subs. See my post above.

So, forgive me if this is obvious, but why did the 3-star Goku Uniforms break? Was it that they were pushed to their limits, or were they infected by Life Fibers/REVOCs, or... That part kinda confused me.

It's the most intense period of Kill la Kill with non-stop action, gazillion plot twists/revelations, & gratuitous fan services yet you fell asleep. Why are you even watching this show?

And for 19 episodes?

Any detractors at this point complaining about the style of the show (clothing/nudity, fast action, type of humor, etc) really need to get their heads examined. The type of show Kill La Kill wanted to be was clear from the first episode and nothing since has changed, so how messed up do you have to be to continue to watch a show for nearly 2 seasons when you don't even like the concept of it?

Well said. Have seen posts once in a few page complaining about fanservice, art style, etc. when we're already on episode 19. These posts are just plain stupid.

After rewatching the episode again, I noticed a plot hole. In the last ep, we learn that bakuzan (?)(Satsuki's blade) doesn't have the ability to cut life fibers. If bakuzan could cut life fibers, Satsuki would've been able to kill Ragyou last episode. In the beginning of this ep, however, we see jakuzure use her short blade, which was created from the shattered bakuzan, to help free matarou and guts from the clutches of COVERS. However, COVERS is 100% made from life fibers. To be fair though, it's a minor plot hole, and it doesn't affect the plot line that much.

The reason why the 3-star Goku uniforms broke was because their just clothes. For example, just clothes in real life, when you wear a specific shirt for long periods of time, the shirt's quality will decrease overtime. Thus requiring you to fix the clothes in order to bring back that same level of quality to the shirt. The same idea is applied to the Goku Uniforms.

Well, actually...
It's been established for a long time (since that sword was first introduced) that it can cut life fibers (the ability to cut a Kamui when a Kamui is 100% life fibers). However, it is imperfect in that it doesn't cut them as well as Ryuko's "Rending Scissors".
When she cut through Ragyo's neck, for instance, it's likely that she cut through many life fibers, but- that sword wasn't good enough to cut ALL of them, which was needed.

Her blade is capable of cutting life fibers. It was explicitly stated. She didn't die because as long as a single strand of life fiber was still attached to her, she would be able to regenerate.

Allow me to further explain the powers of each blade:

The Scissor Blade (Red) can cut almost any Life Fiber based clothing, but does seemingly little damage to the wearers actual body. The only clothing that poses any defensive use against the Scissor Blade (Red), are the Godrobes/Kamui. These seem to have too high of a defensive capability for the blade, and are therefore unaffected by the Scissor Blade (Red)'s attacks.

The Scissor Blade (Purple) is exactly the same as the Scissor Blade (Red) in terms of offensive capabilities. The only difference is shape.

Satsuki Kiryuuin's Bakuzan is the only blade that has shown to have a sharper edge than the Scissor Blade (Red) or (Purple). It can successfully inflict damage on both un-clothed and life-fiber clothed opponents and Godrobes/Kamuis. Little is known about its creator, but it's been hinted by the staff that we may learn of the blade's origins before the show concludes.

Bakuzan Kyouryu & Bakuzan Gako retain the abilities of the famed Bakuzan, but have been resized into new forms after being broken. Kouryu is a short-Katana, and the Gako is a combat knife.

Hope this helps!

PS: The Scissor Blades are weaker than the Bakuzan when alone and separated... But put together, they can likely destroy any life-fiber based thread. This is an assumption on my part, though.

As stated that clothes do get worn out and break, these Goku Seifuku's can't survive as they require maintenance, which can only be done with proper facilities that created these uniforms and contained life fiber.

Though of course, they are very durable, the 3 star uniforms, but imagine trying to save all of the academies that Satsuki-sama subjugated and the only ones that can do it were the Elite Four.

Refutation:
The Red/Purple Scissor Blade(s) has already been shown cutting clean through a Kamui (episode 6 and 13 respectively).

Refutation 2:
The Red Scissor Blade cut off Ragyo's hand (episode 19), though this could potentially be explained via the level of life fibers present in her body. Although, it also refutes my original theory that the scissor blade could've had a greater effect than the Bakuzan when it was used to stab "Mother Dearest" in the back.

Bad excuse is bad. It never went bad midway or this late. The anime has been consistent of its animation style and "fanservicing" since episode 1 and would be till the end. If you don't like "fanservicing", you could have just stopped watching after a few episodes and forget that you watched this anime without adding it to your "drop list".

Since you don't like "fanservicing", then it goes without saying you don't like hentai. So if I gave you an anime 22 episode hentai, you won't drop it on the first few episodes because you just don't drop any anime no matter how "bad" it goes? How about guro animes? Can say the exact same excuse on it?

For a clear example, I myself don't like yaoi. I'm a straight guy so I don't like stuffs like those (like Free! I guess) but if I somehow previewed the anime for the first few episodes and doesn't like it because of the content, it doesn't mean that I have to put it on my drop list.

Your excuse is only plausible if and only if Kill La Kill (somewhere around episode 10) went retard midway, but no, it did not. It's been consistent with regards to the elements present in the anime. It's not like Samurai Flamenco that went bricks on episode 7, return to original at 9 or 10, went retard on 11, and so on and so forth.

The anime is marked as 17+ and you complain on mild nudity? Even the organization is called Nudist Beach, main characters getting nude while transforming and you complain you've been pushed to absolute limit because of "fanservicing/ecchi" and such? And all were crystal clear/explicitly given to us since episode 1.

Ummm. I'm kinda curious where you got the idea that I don't like the show because of the fanservice? I dislike the series for a whole host of reasons and have done since the very first episode, but as I stated above "I don't drop shows, no matter how bad I find them" so even though I immediately disliked the show I stuck with it (at first hoping it would get better) but after a couple more eps I realized that wasn't going to happen so it was only my rule that has kept me watching it.

Ya never know.. Imaishi and his team have an odd history of killing off every single one of their cannon romantic pairings.

Plus, if the show keeps getting any darker than this.. Character deaths are imminent. (Not that I outright believe the "21 I DIE" theory)

Hmm... Maybe, actually I didn't even expect KLK would get as good as it has (I was ready to drop this @ episode 15), it's not often writers can pull off such a big turnaround. I can't really put it past them after that, still I'm expecting main and supporting characters will make it out alive

Incredible dramatic start
Gamagoori having the hots for Mako xD

Ryuuko going berserk without senketsu and Satsuki being held hostage
Great again overall

And fanservice isn't one of the "whole host of reasons"?

Erm...so I backtracked a little and realized you're not a "fanservice" guy. My bad. But seriously you're one of the guys who got "bored" when the show is on its peak?

You people seriously think Mako's gonna die based on wonky conspiracy theories? Get real. Mako isn't dying

Actually I wouldn't anticipate anybody dying outside of the main villains. Pretty much everyone else has been immortal so far

I bet the pair of scissors, when completed, could cut any kind of life fiber, even the one giving the immortality.
