Eh not very satisfied, it was great up to episode 18 but after that the rest was too predictable and i don't know..wasn't as good..and they just left us with more question in the end :\
Doubtful if they would make another season, though it would be nice to have another season but can't say i am looking forward to it much.
I was going for 9/10 up to episode 18 but the rest was disappointing especially this one;
Overall 8/10.
It was a really great anime, but way to much was just left up in the air.
-Lag never got to see his mother and so his mother never gets to find out if "her heart" was delivered to him.
-The governments "secret" experiments seemed..completely ignored, like everyone was all "who the heck cares about that anymore?"
-Roda to.. is that really the real Roda inside there? She said she was fused with all manner of beasts, but still.
-Aria never got to even talk to Noir/Gauche.. seriously. Aria hardly said a word to him, ever.
-I'm confused as hell who that girl is on the picture that Sandra and Jacob hold dear still. Thought they'd have an episode dedicated to that and be all touching, but nope.
-Oh..not to mention..what the heck "is" Lag. Like Niches sister said, hes just taking the form of a human. And Dr. Thunderland realizing he has so many memories inside of him that should not even belong to him or have ever been experienced.
-I also assumed Niche may get that "emotion" surge and actually grow up a little. As her sister kinda foreshadowed that, but nope..she never grew up whatsoever.
It's like everyone is just all "well lets keep delivering letters and not care about what the Governments really doing even though we all found all this evil stuff out."
Gaaah.. my minds exploding at the end of this series.
/rant/
yap disappointing. Many questions still lingering in the air.
Roda is supposed to be a human child who was fused with Roda dog, right? So she is only partially Roda.
The most stupid and senseless thing is though, Aria and Gauche´s relationship.
I mean, they didnt talk a word, or even tried to. Second, how is it possible that Gauche still has "feelings" left for Lag, which was a kid he only saw once.
It has logic that Gauche would keep feelings for his sister Sylvette, but for Lag?
He knew Aria since their childhood, and was always with her even working with her, how is it possible that he doesnt recall someone who´s been with him all his life? and she loved him so much!
also i noticed some Roda x Noir vibe. Basically Aria does not have a chance. T_T
llamaben said: Decent ending I guess... The first 18 episodes of the season were brilliant, but something just didn't feel right in the final 7, especially after how bad ep 19 was.
I would have given this season a 9 if it kept it up, but sadly it didn't. I'm still giving it an 8 though as most of this season was still very good.
Me too. :(
Yup. I liked the Zazie and Connor chat. It was funny. Zazie and his cats! <3
I dislike how they portrayed the mother... it was kind of lame... and Lag got superpowers... >>
I loved the first season but the second season, not so much.
It started off strong but Lag became more & more useless as it went on..
But what was worst was the ending..It left such a void & they never described Lag's origin & many other things like how Aris dealt with Gauche's leaving as Noir and all..It was all so hastefully ended after a wonderful start..
But still this Anime has some very strong points too :D
ok, I really wanted to give 2nd season also 10, but last 4 episodes totally threw me off with that decision and I'll give 8.
UNANSWERED, EMPTY, RUSHED and CONFUSING Ending which left me totally unsatisfied and speachless. Many questions and last episode was totally contradicting to story and characters.
Now. I can't believe no one realised it beside me that
Lag's mom is actually Artifical Sun, to be precise, she is inside of the sun and she is taking hearts from the people making it to sun somehow..
white church and everything bright around her, and Gauche sitting suddenly on her lap and then she told its late and that she already started taking heart from Gauche.. that's the most questinable thing I had since the heart memory Gauche left to LAg as Gauche after becoming Noar in last episodes.
and WTf then Noar can't be Gauche if he still remember something even if it's from memory of lag's pistol but it's familiar to him. I didn't like the fact that Lag also surrenders and accepted Noar instead of Gauche, since it's Gauche it's not Noar it's obvious. Noar is just made of his new delusions of Reverse and empty heart.
Then I can't believe no one brought the fact most important why Gauche went to Akatsuki to work - cause of his sister to heal her legs. I thought it will be brought along the way of some episode to help Gauche remember most important why he needs to obtain heart again.. and then it goes with the thing that he is leaving his sister alone despite the fact she is the main of all his work when he had heart..
and um other who were abandoned why the heck they all left with Noar? O.o they should stay to provide doctor enough material and also help others in the city.. why leaving I don't get it? it's not like they had disease T_T
now Lag.. who is he actually? I mean his shining, special light, eye and the fact Niche's sister Maka told in last episode that he is human just outside.. including his mom who is special case..
and the most ridiculous thing at the last 2 episodes.. WHY THE HECK THEY ACCPETED ARTIFICAL SUN even if it eats hearts of people? and it ate heart of Gauche also.. O.o they stopped Kaberne but why? even if Lorens sacrificed himself I can understand him, since the sun is really dangerous one and harmed him and other people but ordinary people they don't know.
what's the point in that artifical shining if it kills people inside? O.o I don't get why Gauche accepted finishing of Kaberne and not destroying sun? since his purpose was at the end to just save those abandoned people who were about to be given as sacrifice. But since Lorence sacrificed himself then why?
also why Director and other Letter Bees accepted everything despite those things they saw, and the people who were harmed and experimented on cause of that sun..
I really don't get the ending, to be preicise totally disappointed in ending.
But also it's sad for Gauche to finish like such pathetic character and to stay as Noar.. since to Sunny it seems pretty fine as they expect her back again, but on Gauche they gave up O.o
also it pissess me of that hierarcy system of Amberground and Akatsuki officials, and why the heck bees are so obsessed over katasuki worshiping them like some saints even after all those thing they did and they saw it by their own eyes.. I don't get it.
I hope there will be 3rd season, and I don't think I ill give manga a try, cause the ending of 2nd season really made me totally disappointed and heartbroken. x.x
ending gives me feeling like this: happy go lucky, and forget everything we are letter bees ~~ O.o
in all: WONDERFUL START, CATASTROPHIC ENDING.
and also I think Doctor will make a way to at least bringing a part of hearts back to those abandoned ones including Gauche (Noar).. but firstly other questions need to be answered.
My guess is also that destroying artifical sun, parts of hearts will be returned to the people from who this artifical sun stole.
but all in all Jiggy Papeer was soo coool :3 ahhh Nakai Kazuya always gives voice to good characters XD and Zazi was nice ~
I really though feel sorry for Aria :((( it's really painful for her.. and Gauche haven't paid attention to her not a bit after returing and then leaving :/
ehhh.. I need some refreshing things after this huge disappointing and pissing off cause of this ending..

Didn't like this season that much and the ending was meh and not good at all, in my opinion the first season was way better, actually the entire series was decent to me
That ending was so great!!
Gauche is in Blue Notes Blues living with the people who were experimented on. I'm glad he's alive. He's so cool. T_T
Connor and Sunny! That's so cute ^,^
Zazie and cats lol I love Zazie.
It's been about 2 years since I've read the manga, so I don't remember what exactly was different. I do remember this one character who was in the manga that they took out of the anime though. I was sad that they took him out...(In the spoiler)
I think he was a Daily Dingo...I actually saw him for like 2 seconds in the anime, but it was just so quick. It was in the episode where they were looking for Gauche and went to Sarah's Daily Dingo place. In the manga he made a reference to the TV show "Friends" and it was so funny to me because I love that show. He was this guy who was great with directions, and he was planning out where they were going to go, and there were 6 towns and all 6 towns were named after the main characters of Friends. I would post a picture of the 2 pages he said this on, but I don't know how to post pictures on here, so I'll just type it.
"We'll leave Yasoumichi at 0800 hours on the number 12 carriage, exiting in Monica! Then we'll rent a carriage and arrive at the town of Red Ross at 1000 hours! After that, we'll move on to the next town, Joey, by 1100 hours, leave our rented carriage there...and walk to the town of Phoebe! We'll then head down the river and arrive in Rachael at 1300 hours! In our carriage bound for Chandler, we'll eat the sandwiches that we bought in Joey for lunch."
That liar from season 1 finally became a best seller huh?
The big battle with Cabernet was pretty cool but I've never been a fan of the gaichuu fights. I was hoping they'd have done something else with the finale, especially considering all of the great build up this season had throughout with Reverse and Noir. I wasn't too moved by Lag crying when parting with Gauche/Noir. The problem with a character who cries over everything is that the emotional moments where it really counts lose effect.
Tegami Bachi Reverse is what I'd consider a good anime that didn't use its great potential. This season leaves too many unanswered questions and loose ends hanging in the wind, completely at the whim of either going to read the manga or hoping a third season comes along once it ends. Lag's mother and her role in Akatsuki, Akatsuki itself, the government's exploits for the artificial sun, and the creature dwelling in the sun are but some of the several unresolved pieces of this series. Most of this felt more like an afterthought rather than the big issues that they really were. "Oh, Lag's mom just happens to be in Akatsuki feeding the sun. Oh, the gov't is committing atrocities. Oh well, maybe one day..."
But with that rant aside, I still do believe that this was a good series regardless. Definitely a solid follow up to season 1 and I enjoyed the stronger focus on the main plot as opposed to the episodic deliveries (which were still welcome). I agree with the sentiment that this series was fantastic up until around episode 20, where it began to lose momentum until this so-so happy open ending. I did at least like how it captured the mood of Tegami Bachi at the end. The POV shot of Lag delivering the letter made it feel like he was delivering the finale to me right at my door.
My thoughts on season 1 sum up how I feel about the overall delivery of this series. A one of a kind experience with a very surreal and enticing atmosphere. I do hope they decide to go through with another season as the manga is approaching its end.
I really enjoyed this anime but what's kicking me is how many loose ends there are! I really hope we get blessed with a third season; I can't handle that kind of open ending. The final manga volume did come out not too long ago, so here's to hoping there'll be an announcement for it sometime in the near future!
so i guess that the rest of the story continues in the manga since the people reponsible for the whole mess didnt appear or given the blame too. and still... the mother
I'm totally super disappointed in this ending and it's all because of my selfishness that I wanted the real Gauche to return. I pretty much knew it wasn't going to happen as soon as they started making Noir a sympathetic character but I held out hope and was heartbroken anyway. I kind of want to read the manga since I know the plot is different in some ways but I don't want to want to waste time reading 20 volumes if I'm just going to be disappointed again
Not bad overall, but I could tell, even before learning for a fact that from episode 14 on it no longer follows the manga, that the second half was anime-original because of how things became too simple, too predictable and too cliche. Well, time to go read the manga I guess.
This season was entirely weaker than the first one, however, I drowned in the atmosphere of this universe every episode and now I guess I'm gonna miss these special aura characters have been creating for us. I wish it were one more season for this series...
It's really unfortunate that the show didn't really end on any particular conclusion.
We saw the demise of the super gaichuu with a fair bit of deus ex machina...
Gauche isn't recovered, Sunny isn't recovred, Lag is apparently not exactly human?
Lag had memories of a lush earth under a real sun... what's with that?
The artificial sun still has a horrifying giant demonic embryo in it that sucks the life out of people... All that build up for a grand conspiracy and some kind of resolution, but in the end, all the wrongdoings and horrors go unchecked, and all the experimentation and sacrifice used to make the sun crystal thing is just accepted, forgotten? Bleh.
I was expecting maybe lag was gonna come back and shoot his heart at his mom or the sun thing or something and make it a magical super-sun that doesn't need to absorb stuff anymore, or some anime-like ending like that.
I'm really disappointed in the ending, so many questions left unanswered that felt like they needed an answer or else it feels incomplete.
I thought "Well maybe the manga will continue the story."
But nope, apparently I can't even go to the manga for answers now either, because when skimming to see where it left off, I found that by chapter 33, it makes it look pretty clear the story is going to change directions! xD;
So I don't know if the questions I have about the series even get answered in the manga. OTL
It's a shame because the second season was a lot more interesting and then the ending just ruined it for me to feel able to give it a 9 star rating. xD;
