THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Nice to see the original inspiration of the much-hyped series of today. There were similarities and differences for each. For example, instead of hiding behind walls, humanity lived inside of a cage of giant ass- I mean colossal (wink) trees. There were no 3D Maneuver Gears, and instead of oversized box cutters, we see the troops wield katanas. The weak spots of Titans were at the left side of the body instead of the nape. They are also intelligent and can shape-shift. Protagonist as a Titan looks exactly like Eren as a Titan, and they both get teamed from numerous other Titans. To be honest, I didn't expect the the whole thing where a Titan was impersonating Murakumo's dead father. Also didn't expect Murakumo to die in the end. The whole plot of the Human Extermination Project was also weird, they should have explained it a little more in detail in the 70-ish pages of the one-shot. Couldn't tell if Tsubaki was a guy or a girl. Overall, the one-shot was mediocre, I can tell why Isayama-sensei changed much of the series to the current one. |

Just finished reading it just now and indeed it was quite different from the current Snk. The main protagonist is such a lone wolf in this series o-0 Didn't expect him to die either. Albeit, there weren't enough explanation about their world or much is known about the characters and it was a little confusing but i enjoyed it. I thought this was ok and i prefer the current Snk as well :3 |

Got to start somewhere. |
Deconstruction ≠ Darker & Edgier Trope ≠ Cliché (Face it, nothing is completely original. Can't make something from nothing so to say.). Fanservice ≠ Ecchi (Though ecchi can please the fans!) Popular ≠ Sucks... maybe Seinen = K-ON! Shounen, Shoujo, Seinen and Josei are demographics. Anime/Manga = Japanese Cartoons! Deal with it. Support Movember. Raise awareness of men's health issues. It was good, so the 2 main characters sort of fused and became Eren, and Murakumo the Master's look transferred over to Mikasa. I am glad that the Isayama-sensei was able to refine the story in to what it is now, more of the mystery first and answers way later. vs some back story/w some answers, then mystery then end cuz oneshot. Master Titan is Eren Titan now, and one of the better things about the current stories is the weak point of the Nape of the neck vs in this the left shoulders. anyway it was a nice concept back then and what seemed like it could have become a weekly release manga, but I prefer monthly and the less dragged out plot that comes from it so I am really glad Isayama-sensei was able to refine the series and re release it later. |

Funny that the only explanation I ever thought for the titans was a human extermination project. Intensity of the characters is the same as in the original. Story was different but its good enough to have been continued as it is. Art is strange but doesn't matter to me really. 7/10 from me. |

Finished reading and also gave 7/10. The artwork was a bit different but it showed the cruelty side of the Titan origins. Now time to get training people! Dem Titans. |

Boy it really looked like a rough draft. Although the nucleus thing seems way cooler than the base of the neck thing. |

^ Yeah, seems like the nucleus is located at different places. Kill this! >.> |

I kinda like the nucleus thing. Murakumo looks like Mikasa in his human form while in the Titan form, he looks like Eren in the Titan form. |

I think that was the village of Reiner's (Also Bertholdt and Annie's) that he talks about, in the current version of SnK probably some people who lives outside of the walls can be able to shift into a titan like Annie. And probably living in Tree houses or lands isolated from titans. (Also Annie was training in a forest in the flashback with her dad.) So i think this manga gives some clues about the current anime Isayama Hajime wouldn't share it if it wasn't... |

One Vol. of 68 pages!!! The draw and the development were poor, but the idea was amazing, and i am happy how transformed this prototype in the actual manga!!! |

Seems like a bootleg SnK copy haha. Anyway, I thought that was decent. I kinda wish it was a bit longer, as it left a lot of details unexplained. Oh well, it ended up becoming SnK, which is amazing, so that's an upgrade. |

A very delicate growth from this I'd say. Artwork aside, I found it to be pretty average. |

I didn't catch or comprehend what that detail of a father was about, but... cool One-Shot of what later became Attack on Titan. |

Shingeki no Kyojin Volume 0 was pretty good for a One-shot, yes the artwork was pretty bad but the story was nice and paced. It's pretty sad in the ending but very heroic. Overall I'm going to pick up Shingeki no Kyojin and start reading, it really piqued my interest as a beginner. |

It was a good pilot chapter and shows the early idea for shingeki no kyojin |
