"A Womanly Battlefield"

Finally! Fuala goes down after a long & intense battle w/ Uso. I honestly was wondering if Marvet was going to die in this battle. With the battle descending into chaos & Shakti willingly entering Angel Halo, you can only wonder how much worse it is going to get.

Not liking it at all, this is getting riddiculous.

I just don't drop it because I'm almost at the end.

The battle was okay, and yes for a moment there I thought Marvet would bite the dust...

Hell yeah for Marbet's kid. Marbet better not die, I don't care much for the rest, but Marbet is my favorite character of the show.

Finally Fuala is dead! I didn't understand why she got crazy when she saw Marbet's pregnancy.

Damn you Shakti! You're helping to turn everyone into babies...

Zut, Maria suddenly works against her ideal and Tassilo becomes a mad guy... -_- What a way to break everything made so far.

So, now, women who refused motherhood can't stand to meet pregnant ones? ... This time, I can't make sense of a woman behaviour. Any idea?

Meanwhile, Chronicle? Hey?

3/5 Oh no, it's starting to regress again.

@Sapewloth Thanks. I find the lack of clarity there to be (at least slightly) bad when the creator clearly wanted his "message" on this to be a central theme, it's made worse by him saying it (referencing the dual interview with Anno).
About the V2, the tech/power gap presented here looks like the gate to Wing and after (Rambo II syndrome, if I may). Even the ZZ (a beast) didn't appear like that (maybe thanks to the pilots abilities or the series itself), and when we reached the peak with the destructive fortresses named Nu and Nightingale, it was working because of the duel we were told. Here, there is nothing standing between Uso's monster armor and grunts (or anyone, actually).
Looks like after a hard comeback, you decided to make a big "return". Courage !

I don't understand that one either. The message seemed to be that rejecting your motherly, nurturing nature as a woman will be your downfall (probably because you're stronger with two lives rather than one, or some corny shit like that) but in death, Fuala was able to retrieve it and finally "become a woman". There also seems to be a clear distinction between the role of the soldier and that of a woman that Tomino is trying to establish, but I don't really know where he's getting at with that. ALl-in-all I think the point he's trying to make about women *and* the battlefield is still as confusing as ever, despite being one of the series' main focus this time around (contrary to Zeta where it was just a minor theme).

On the other hand, V2 is so overpowered I don't even know how this war isn't over yet.

Also lol'd at Maria calling out other people for their supposedly "weak hearts" when she herself has been nothing more than a puppet for 90% of the show.

Fuala's lolicon tendencies reached their peak. For only a bit, as she swiftly lost her life. A pity, I rather liked Fuala's deranged behaviour, her voice actress was doing a sublime job as well.

I'm unable to completely fathom the her ideology, though. Shakti's willingness to take the helm of a weapon of mass destruction was equally bewildering...

Really good job inferring what the point of all of that was, dude. I did not really understand it all too much and just looked at it as Fuala having some random moment of clarity that she will be killing a baby..

Still a great episode, although Tassilo turning back into a lunatic again pissed me off.

First Shakti suggests destroying Angel Halo, and now she's praying there? What?

Also no transition from the end of the previous episode (fierce battle with Fuala)

Fuala’s kinda tragic and pathetic. Honestly wasn’t expecting her character to go in this direction. We probably won’t but I hope we get something about why the hell she went crazy. Hoping for a manga or something to elaborate on that.

The message about women here is all over the place, but I can see where Anno got his inspiration from. Although in Evangelion he expressed it more coherently with the distinction of three identities as "scientist(soldier), woman and mother". While we don't have to agree, the point was clear enough and more tied up to a particular character (rather than universal truth). This episode, on the other hand, is a complete mess bordering on offensive.
