This series has been extremely well made so far. I dislike Frontier so much that I had no desire to see the other series, but I'm glad I picked up Zero regardless, hope it keeps it up.

Wow. This episode just showcases how amazing this series' animation is. I was stunned at how beautiful the animation was this episode not to mention the episode actually being great too. But I can't stress enough at how good the animation is in this show. It's, by far, this series' strongest point.

Damn...and there goes the entire jungle. I really enjoyed watching this series. The Hydrogen bomb at least, really gave the feeling of depth and reality.

They have that much asset at their disposal they can even spare not one but three high-impulse thermobaric weapons just to find two people and literally clean a forest as a consequence at that! O_o

Love the forest night scenes, the fireflies... the CGI blended well too.

Shin's singing was corny but I guess it was OK.

Just a few seconds more and my ears would start bleeding.

Dam that blowing up the forest with hydrogen bombs was really well done I felt sad after that :(.

Besides that the animation was awesome yet again but the singing sucked.

Surprise surprise, the old man was a bad guy. Didn't see that coming. [/sarcasm]

Wow, this Aries bitch has some fast reflexes. Stop in the same moment Focker told her. How ridiculous haha.

A tribute to nature, the denial of the war, this is Macross Zero. Plot that captivates for esotericism and mysticism, has convinced me. Engaging narrative, if the series started so everything would have been different! ^ _ ^
Drawing amazing, almost could not believe my eyes when I saw this OVA that the graphics department had improved so much. Characters very charismatic, I like them all! * _ *
Beautiful animations, the Satelight is committed! : D
Intriguing cliffhanger! ;)
Rating of 5/5! ^ _ ^

They are not hydrogen bombs, they are napalms. Hydrogen bombs right now can destroy entire island(and more) and they won't be detonated when they hit the ground, they will detonate on the air where optimal radius of the blast resonates from earth surface and gives immense strenght to blast...

They really trying to make war and technology look bad, but they are using technology to make GCI of the series itself... What an irony.

Finally Shin and Sara made some culture in the forest! Same for Focker and Aries. Very good, so far Macross Zero is better than Macross Plus - better characters, better overall setting and premise, etc. Though I'd say that anti-UN forces are kinda *too* one-sided and evil (though Nora mentioned rape and murder by UN soldiers at some point, her side still didn't get enough time to develop). People complaining about "flying stones"...hey, it's a franchise with an ancient civilization mastering genetics and fold technology, and the stones are their legacy, it's not unbelievable in the context of this OVA.

I hope that the last episode will explain remaining uncertainties (or give hints for me to do it myself). For instance, the seemingly absent (so far) effect of this OVA's events on SDF Macross. If Protoculture was discovered before the war with Zentradi...Am I supposed to think that it was a super secret thing only for absolute top brass?

P.S. Nudes in the flashback lol. I guess it's some sort of "spiritual purity"

Macross Zero might be one of the better examples of a return-to-nature story I've seen in a while. This includes the Ghibli marathon I had recently. Simply put, civilized people bringing war to a peaceful village and thereby annihilating their island. It's not just a physical destruction either, it's also cultural desecration. In this case, globalization steals people and land. It transforms language and traditions. It teaches people, whom used to fight with comparatively privative ways, about weapons of mass destruction. Whatever people do, we'd turn anything we'd find into a weapon, and turn it on ourselves out of greed, pride, and fear. Though Macross Zero, civilized society is shown to be a form of corruption, and it's a wonder how we've survived this long. Damn.
