These epsisode(42) is the cracking point in this story, just think about what kobayashi says at the end of this episode and you will get it altogether... (i mean the guy>girl magic)

too bad that this little devil doesnt remove the brainwash of megu/miki at the end...
the reactions would have been fun to watch!

I hated all the backpedaling in the epilogue during the credits, it was an obvious attempt at another season that ruined all the progress from the rest of the episode and (possibly) the entire season up to that point :/

it was, at best, an average series overall. lots of weak episodes, almost no character development and a lame-ass ending :/

i did like that the asshole wound up in a monastery though :)

I actually really enjoyed the series until near the end when shit got way too random and plot holes sprung up around every corner. I mean, every anime is entitled to a few "wtf logic" moments and a minor plot hole or two, but there were just too many for me.

I'll give it about an 8. I really enjoyed the first half, or 2/3.

So.. it all ends with the kiss...

LOL@ if that kiss happened way before it would have ended there already then :P...

It could make for a nice 2nd season with that "what if", though it'll probably never happen.

Doubting on giving this 7/10 or 8/10, but I think I'm gonna go with 8/10 as the earlier episodes were simply a lot of fun.

I agree... Yamato Nadeshiko cup onwards the series took a nasty turn for the worse... at least I am satisfied that Megu was a girl all along and there was sth wrong with hers and Miki's head like I wanted...

aw.. if only the brainwash was undone. Also, I'm glad that takao is sent to the temple :D I was really hoping they'd kill him or at least break all his bones or something as I watched this episode. I was also hoping kobayashi would be the one to handle the boss and be prince-like, but he went down so fast T.T didn't expect him to use a kamehameha though @.@

loved this anime^^

Shit, for the first half of the anime, I kept expecting to see Megu turn into a man. But then she just got way too feminine for that to even happen. And that ending is exactly what I didn't want to see. In the first opening, Megu as male looked like some kind of Ban Mido ( from Getbackers ) with green hair. At least there should have been one episode with HIM and not HER.

Yea, pretty much, my standards were low coming into this. This seemed like a Slice of life episodic anime at first, but the plot ended, albiet cheesy as fuck.
At 16:50, Fujiki: "He really is evil."
Yasada "No, he's the king of evil."
I don't know if the translation was spot on or not, but still, I guess the anime's dialogue was cheesy throughout the entire show. Calling people, "You're evil" does not really put the antagonist in a bad light, but is rather insulting to the viewer who already FUCKING KNOWS THAT. Shounen—too cheesy for that Shoujo—Too cheesy for that

The action scense are almost always goody and clearly meant for the lulz. On the rare occasion there is a stark, but welcoming contrast in action scenes, but mostly it was cheesy, lighthearted actoins scense trying to be funny. Let's be honest, this guy clearly has the funds to put some amass real weaponry, but he uses funy shaped dic robots, pin industrial glue, springs, and best, and explosives. But no real firearms here. WTF WTF WTF. Am I being trolled by the anime or what, there is no sense of danger, no one is going to get hurt.

That last scene with Genzo, that 180 spin. At the beginning of the episode, Megumi refers to herself/himself as a PRINCE, but after seeing Genzo getting beat this time, Megumi refers to GENZO as the PRINCE. IDC if it was magical or some shit. That isn't character development... Having this pulled at the last fucking minute was simply put, an crappy ass pull. I can't swallow that. That didn't just fucking happen. They've done fucked it up good.

Seriously, the first half was supposedly the more intriguing part. It was the best part of the anime because Megumi was still trying to become a guy, but it went downhill fast after every attempt to revert back into a guy does not end up well. Every episode felt episodic, and was underwhelming as it progressed even if the plot did develop a bit.

I guess, this was borderline shounen and shoujo at times, wavering between the two, never really excelling at anything. Even the action scenes, sometimes were serious and sometimes weren't. Tonal shifts, animation shifts are so apparent that they ruin the consistency of the show. Above all, the gender bender stuff really isn't solely shounen like the misleading tag states. This anime didn't know what to truly excel at. We weren't roused enough to laugh, weren't riled up to cry, weren't touched by anything. In short, it half-assed every genre that can be possible encompassed in a school genre anime, except maybe the magic part. But even that was stuffed in your face. That lsat moment where the perriot guy just says farewell and makes her a girl permanently.. WTF I was just as confused as Megumi was. Didn't have any feels, and was tough to binge watch at one time. Would not watch again. Thank god I'm done.

I liked the story, I enjoyed it but not as a whole, there is something that's been budging me, when I found out (I spoiled myself) Megu was a woman all along I was disappointed because I was hoping she would end up with Genzo as a BOY. Then, when I accepted she was actually a girl, I was really sure SHE would end up with Miki, all the elements in the final arc pointed to that.

I noticed the author wavering on Megu's character the whole story, especially in the middle part, they created a magnificent character, a boy inside a girl’s body who would understand girls once he returned to his original body (and a heroin among girls), and all the characterization went downhill from there, little by little, in details. There was a lot in the story that "could've been". I was actually hoping for queer representation and I ended up disappointed. I guess I'm bad at handling finales. On the good side, Megumi had a great impact on me and she made me enjoy this anime along with Genzo and Keiko.

I would have liked for them to definitively say whether Megu was initially male or female. Kobayashi introduced his theory that she was always female, but they never said for sure.

8/10

I really enjoyed this anime but the ending was weak and I didn't really like all the stuff since the Nadeshiko Cup. Would have been an 8/10 but because of the episodes towards the end it's a 7 for me.

Anyone knows if this is a complete adaptation or anime original ending?

MEGUMI : This guy did it all for me... Thank You, My Prince!

"Does a little kiss have that big of a significance?"

Thank You!

I don't know if it's because it's been too long since I've watched another anime like this, but I enjoyed every step of the way toward this ending — faults and all. In a few more years, I'm sure I'll want to rewatch this.

I must say this is a good anime, with characters that makes the show funny and enjoyable. For the first part of the show, I really thought Megu was a guy, but she was a girl all along and that surprised me. Overall I love this show, and I love Megumi.

Wish Megu would have shown some more affection in the end. The romance was a little bit to one sided for me.

It was ok mostly. But it never really improved even once in it entire run. Also they did characters dirty for the sake of gag multiple times and the plot was never really taken for seriously again for gag sake. In comparison author's previous work Kyō Kara Ore Wa!! had much better writing (though even that became like this one towards the end of the manga), so it still a downgrade.
There were a very few arc/continuous episode where villan was involved, but those are not any better than individual ones. I did enjoy it a bit, but it would have been better with lesser episode (since they are not really aiming for any progression)
