Oh Harry, I don't know what you did is smart or stupid.

Also when the hell did Kihel magically fall in love with Harry?

I kind of got the feeling that was the case during their time together on earth...but I didn't know that for sure and I do think it could have been handled a little better. But, from my experience with the original Gundam's movie trilogy this sudden romance kind of comes with the territory.

Maybe so, but that still doesn't excuse jumpy plot development.

Harry showed interest in Kihel since he had laid eyes on her in Ep 5 when he thought she looked identical to Diana. I wouldn't go as far as calling it love from first sight, but in the party episode, he mentioned at the end that he had forgotten to tell Loran how Kihel looked like Diana. After that, when Diana and Kihel switched identities, it was clear that the diffetence between Diana and Kihel was drawing Harry to the Kihel Dianna. This was apparent in Ep 15 when there was a close–up of him leaning forward when speaking to her.

As for Kihel, it started after Harry discovered her identity in Ep 18. And after giving that speech that angered the moon race, he became the only one she could trust.

All in all, I think the right word to describe this pairing is subtle rather than poorly written. Harry was simply less upfront with his feelings than Kihel because his feelings for her were interferring with his loyalty to his queen. Though, I admit the hints sprinkled throughout the series are easy to miss when you're watching the series for the first time

Actually, these are some pretty good points. I remember the moment you mentioned in episode 15 with the close up and I thought to myself "is there something there?" but I guess it escaped me during the course of the series. But, I definitely did notice that Harry seemed, I don't know, drawn to her as you said. And, yeah, I probably would notice this a little better during a re-watch.

The series definitely makes more sense and can end up being more appreciated after a rewatch.

I remember when I watched Turn-A for the first time I thought it was Kihel who fell for Harry first, and his love for her came out of the blue. But when I rewatched the series I began to suspect that Harry's interest in her might have been been founded as early as Ep 5. It also became apparent that after discovering Diana and Kihel switched places Harry began to distance himself from Kihel. He was worried his attraction to Kihel will end up in him putting her above his queen. Like in that one time after Harry came back from his mission to retrieve Diana, Kihel asks him to remain by her side because she can't trust anyone on the ship, and Harry excuses himself that he had work to do. Kihel then says after he left "Diana-sama, is it me or is lietenant Harry keeping his distance from me?"

I pay close attention to any possible signs of affection that a Char clone gives off, so I noticed the attention he gave Kihel. I thought he was just too reserved to ever be honest about how he felt. I didn't realize it was out of his dedication to Dianna, though. Kihel's orders for Charry to stay by her side had me thinking she liked him, too. All the signs didn't necessarily point to a developing romance, though, so I wasn't sure if they were actually intentional or not. xD I didn't think Tomino was capable of this sort of thing, but Charry X Kihel is actually an organic pairing. o_O

Bah. Char is a heartless goal-driven monster. His clones always have to have these silly romances, though. I dislike it. :l

honestly this romance didnt come out of no where for me, you could definetly see hints especially in terms of why kihel is so head over heels, compared to.....pretty much every tomino romance this has had the most build up.

Also harry is a beast

Jizzy as you would call yourself because youre a dick The most butthurt award goes to you And clearly you havent watched that many shows thats why you cant determine if a show is unique or not Or maybe you're just a child who likes common stuffs where hero saves the day and guys gets all the girls. Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

She sure wants his D...so thirsty. But meh, all the "romances" in this series are terrible, like always.

Very good episode with Kihel and Harry expressing clearly what was shown regularly over the course of the series. With the last events, I was starting to think it was all my imagination. ^^"
Keeping military operations for later would have been better, letting us finally reach the Moon and see an upcoming conclusion.

4/5 Between this new battle, Agrippa and Ghinghanam's trying to seize the power, and the Earth/Moon situation, I seriously doubt this show will conclude things efficiently.

About the "coming out of nowhere" recurrent criticism against loves in Tomino stories, the love cases here aren't even remotely alike. Usually, it alls boils down to soulmates connection or crushes / needs amplified by the stressful war environment. Now, I know what those people want: actual full episodes devoted to depict the future lovers relationships, step after step. Dubious needs.

@CodeBlazeFate Yeah, I was (partially) right! Funny to see people criticize Tomino for a well-made and relatively discret/subtle "romance" and compare it with the sudden ones of previous series. Never satisfied are they...

I knew it! Finally Kiehl's feelings are clear :3

No review of previous events at the beginning, hmm

Gym's been out there for 3000 years, yikes. Nice cup of tea he got there. So he decided to destroy the base because he suspected Diana was there? He clearly knows that Kiehl is Kiehl.

Finally the long hinted romance between Kihel and Harry comes to something. As others already pointed out, I also think that this is one of the Gundam romances (especially Tomino's) with most build up.
Gingham is a cool antagonist, space samurai warmonger who winks at the camera. Aside for his quirks he looks pretty dangerous and I'm sure he will have some epic fight with Loran at the end. Can't wait!

You really feel Kihel's desperation in this episode. I was surprisingly moved by the interactions between her and Harry, as well as her scenes alone.

That's quite a good romance that has a long way to build up the relationship between Kihel and Harry. The romance between them is very subtle and hinted through their time together in the Dianna Space Counter. The romance between them is already quite good considering it's developed during the war too. Of course, there will be a lot of burden to shoulder so they at least need one another to get through all of this. Both Dianna and Kihel's performance as each other double is really impressive and one of my fav thing about this show.

Yeah. The romance only comes out of nowhere to those that need everything to be spelled out for them.

It was very clear that Harry was attracted to Kihel from the start, i don't understand how people could not notice this and call everything "poorly written"
And personally i quite like them.
