It is out.

That was a lot of stuff to happen in one episode. I always get curious when I have a general idea of what things the directors are going to include in the anime overall and know a whole lot of them are still up in the air with only 2-3 episodes left to show them in.

It's a little scary, episode ten. I did really enjoy the moment when Ono and Tachibana looked at each other, as if Ono had gained more understanding for Tachibana's situation at the time he rejected him.

And on a lighter note, it was REALLY funny when the two policemen flanked the detective and Tachibana was like "WHAT'S GOING ON?! Is it Ono?! Did Eiji beat someone up?!" (summarizing, of course).

But man, this series does a good job of making ugly people look ugly. Not that I would expect otherwise, since the manga is the same way, but you don't see that many fat women in your anime these days.

go to ggkths.org, but its an .mkv so if you don't have a fast computer be prepared to close some programs.

With that said, I'm really amazed by the quality and care given to the characters and storyline. This is such a good, solid series that anyone should watch regardless of hesitations regarding the genre.

Ok! Now that the sub is out I can talk about it.

Whatever happened in Tachibana's past is the reason he went anti-gay? :O Is it his father that kidnapped him?

If you look carefully, the kidnapper appears to be raping or touching him in a weird way(he's REALLY REALLY close) and before he remembers being cruel to Ono again. I missed it in the raw because I wasn't thinking, but the two match up painfully well. Ouch.

On second thought, it could have been something as simple as the kidnapper hugging or touching him too much (not necessarily in a sexual way) that made Tachibana so homophobic when he was younger. However, from what he remembers in that few seconds, I'm leaning towards my first guess. It's so blurry and quick you can't tell what's going on, but it definitely is something traumatic.

And I don't think it was his father, because how could you kidnap your own son in your home? The guy in the episode who was petting Atsushi(the dead kid) is obviously the kidnapper who got Tachibana. Disturbingly, (as a friend pointed out to me an ep or two back), Tachibana looks exactly like the kidnapper with his long hair and beard, and it kinda freaks me out that the image stuck in his head so long.

the tension really went up a lot this episode...
can't wait for the next episode.

But I also enjoyed the comedy a lot.
especially the "so what's your sister up to now" - "oh, she's getting married soon" - *death* - scene

Josef Fritzl managed something rather similar.

Most of me, (99%), thinks it is the guy we see who still refuses to believe his son is dead after 20 years. That would explain why all the victims are little boys, why there was no ransom demand, we saw the wife buying the cakes which were then found in the victims stomachs.

There's still a little part of me wondering if that concusion is a little too easy. Even if there are only 2 episodes left to go, anime/manga sometimes has a habit of suddenly going 'oh, btw you guys, it actually happened like this...' It makes most of us go 'buh? 0__0' but still manages to make perfect sense. AB could suddenly jump out and say 'btw you guys, that guy is actually his real father and it happened like this ...'

I get that it probably won't, I hope that's understood.

But I still wouldn't be surprised if it were that guy, though, and for the reasons that have been put forward. I'm probably being tricked into somewhat wondering if it's too obvious. ^^;

Anyone else wondering what he said. At first I thought it may be something like 'I am your father' (whether that was the actual truth or not concerning his severe disillusions). Now I'm thinking it could be anything. Maybe something along more disturbing lines like 'I love you' (maybe as a son, but probably not if we've had hinted sexual assault).

I feel sorry for the poor wife, myself. When I saw him raise the knife to her, I wanted her to get the hell out and leave him. But I can also get that she's scared to do that. Not only because of what can happen in an abusive relationship if that is the case, (cut off from her friends and family, made to think she can't manage without him, that he'll come and get her, etc). Also, if she's been around for the kidnappings, that would also explain why she's afraid to go to anyone because she thinks she'll be in big trouble too. Poor dear. :(

It is an interesting episode. Makes you wonder what it gonna happen next. Most importantly, are Ono and Chikage gonna get together?!?!

Yeah, I mean he was so proud of his unshaven look but now he looks exactly like his kidnapper, and then he's surrounding himself with cake...

I think that he is resembling his abductor and being surrounded by cakes to one day see the guy and he'd be like he you remind me of a younger me kind of thing. in one of the episodes someone asks him if he opened the bakery to one day catch his kidnapper. only 2 more left we'll see what happends.

I wasn't really paying enough attention to notice this, but you could definitely be onto something :\

I'm probably gonna finish this series in the next hour, so my hypothesis is that the guy with the dead son had his son kidnapped by some random third party - the actual criminal. For him to be the kidnapper just seems too simple. xD

The whole thing is just really sad - especially because you know there are children out there right now who have been kidnapped and are afraid and alone.

I really wanna have clarification whether or not he was actually sexually molested by the kidnapper. Crazy cake face seemed more obsessive with the 'father' role - but I guess the lines blur.

great show

I know this episode was mostly serious but I liked that bit where the detective show up and Tachibana's already thinking it's because of something Ono's or Eiji did wrong lol.

He never said people have rhubarb and custard though lol. I didn't know it was so rare in Japan lol.

So Tachibana stabbed the guy to get away and opened the shop to catch him which obviously worked only his wife is buying the cake. So the guys son died twenty years ago but he pretends he's still alive and gets cake for him and kidnaps kids. Okay.
