TBH I have to question Guts hack and slash his way through demon after demon when it took all he had and then some to (not even entirely) kill Wyald. I know his raw fury is carrying him great lengths, but still...
Is Griffith's "birth" going to be what stops this horror...?
Casca bleeding down there and being surrounded by dick demons must've meant that those bastards had their turns on her already. No fury can match Guts' at the sight of this horrible scene and it'll only get much worse from here.

I didn't even notice this at first, when usually [iI'm[/i] the one to catch these kinds of things and the only one to question it on the forums. But now that this has been mentioned, I'm admittedly a little pissed.
Seriously... how IS Guts all-of-the-sudden able to conquer gigantic demon after demon?? Yeah, he's inhumanly strong, has incredible combat experience, and has gone (to a titular extent) "berserk" ... BUT, this is his first time encountering legitimate monsters (aside from Wyald), AND -- as was stated -- it took him QUITE some time just to beat Wyald.
So HOW is Guts now able to bring down dozens and dozens of unfathomable demons when he's practically never been faced with a scenario like this before?
I know realism doesn't apply here, but when logic is thrown out the window like this, it's just distracting.
It's getting to be too much.. that is, when it comes to Casca being sexualized. I get that rape is a huge theme in Berserk, as can human lust. But it's just one nude scene with Casca after another. And it's starting to lose its effect..... it HAS lost its effect. I mean, it seems like she's been sexualized and (nearly) raped dozens of times now. The first couple times definitely added substance to the plot. The she has actual intimate intercourse with Guts... sure, more plot substance. But afterward it starts to get redundant. And I feel like the author is just rinsing and repeating a "nude Casca" thinking "if I just take Casca's clothes off again, I'm sure my manga will -- yet again -- be a big intellectual escapade"...
But the unnecessary use of ten giant monsters noticing Casca is a woman and deciding to all rape her before eventually eating her...
This doesn't instill any kind of drama or emotion in me. It COULD if Casca hasn't been so "used" in past chapters. But the effect is just lost. All I feel is distracted. Unimmersed. And irritated. The end.
I want to talk a bit about the next chapter, but I placed it under the spoiler tag. I'm talking about the chapter here, though, because it relates to the discussion I'm having.
So as of the next chapter (I haven't read beyond that yet), it looks like the reborn Griffith has flown down next to Gut and started raping Casca himself. This is a big dick (literally, tee hee) move. And, to be honest, I think it actually DOES have an effect. It DOES add substance to the plot. It IS dramatic and it DOES instill emotion. Frankly, the author has done it right.
I'm pissed that in the prior chapter, Casca was briefly shown being abused by monsters. She is further seen to be abused (and wrapped in tentacles) in the next chapter.
^ So let it be clear, I'm pissed about everything that happened before Griffith had his way with her.
Griffith and Casca are clearly very important to each other. They both value the relationships they have (had) with each other. So, an evil Griffith doing something so deceitful is great plot material and shocks the characters and the audience alike. The nude intimacy here backs it all up. We aren't focused on any kind of fanservice or blatant lust. There are layers to the Griffth/Casca rape.
Buuuuut, the tentacle monster rape right before? Absolutely 100% unnecessary, as was some of the other nude Casca seems that have been happening. I'm all for a bit of edginess to contribute to the immersion/atmosphere/world-building of a story -- and a lot of the unfortunate sexual instances involving Casca were probably necessary to further our understanding of the Berserk universe -- but as of now, we get it, we get it, we get it:
Casca is female, she's weak because of her gender, any man or monster can have their way with her, and despite being a skilled fighter she's ultimately powerless when a dick is involved. 🙄
Berserk is a 10/10 story, but if it's got any flaws, it's utilizing Casca in this manner.
I wonder if the story truly was about griffith up until this point. His hero's journey if you will. Because at this point Guts battle and conflict hold all the emotional weight now!
