There was absolutely no justice for Nayuki. In both the 2002 and 2006 version, Nayuki was treated like crap and had a very unhappy ending, especially in the 2006 one. An afterstory could at least solve this mess.

It's not fair that Clannad gets an afterstory while kanon gets left in the dark, even though kanon is lot better in many people's opinion (myself included).

I know there's a Kanon Kazahana, but it's not the continual of 2006, and it's only one episode. I think it would be great to see ayu's and Yuuichi's relationship continue (like in kanon kazehana), see kitagawa dating Kaori, and maybe Nayuki dating someone too, perhaps making Yuuichi jealous (whole new story here)

Has KyoAni ever made their own epilogues to their Key adaptation? No? Then don't expect one. Key never made an After Story for Kanon (I think they only began extending their stories ever since Clannad ) so anything extra would be anime-original.

@tiantian-Yes, I do think Kanon is worthy to get an After Story type series, considering there is so much potential to expand the Kanon series further, I felt it more worthy than Clannad IMO(with the exception of the series going the Tomoyo route), I would've liked to see Yuuichi's parents come into the picture, Akiko meeting someone and falling in love herself, Mai and Sayuri's life in college, Shiori likely becoming close friends with Mishio, and etc...Yes, it would bring a new twist in the story if Nayuki finds a new love and Yuuichi finding himself competing for her affections and questioning whether a relationship with Ayu is what he really wants for his future and Nayuki still having feelings for Yuuichi in the long run and this new person in her life understanding those feelings eventually. If a Yuuichi and Nayuki pairing happens, knowing how nice a girl Ayu is, she would give them her blessings. What would give a potential Kanon sequel a twist is telling the story through the POV of a mysterious girl who is revealed to be Yuuichi's daughter and not finding out until the end of the story of who her mother is...Ayu or Nayuki.

I would like to see it but then I like to see more fluffy moments with Ayu. She is my favouite of the Key created characters to date and seeing a future for her considering what her life has been would be great!

Agreed, it pissed me off how Nayuki was treated and I do feel Kanon is worthy of being expanded further.

Maybe, but I not sure that Kanon will get an afterstory. If you have more episode with Kanon characters,You should play Visual Novel.

But Kanon did show the gist of every route. This wasn't like Clannad, which had so much route-specific content that it had to be separated into two seasons AND two OVA's(for the two romance-centric routes). Kanon is a short game.

cute, but a remake is fundamentally different. The original Kanon did make an epilogue episode, that could have been done for Kanon (2006). I don't see it happening now, 5 years after the fact.

I'd really love to see this, but the game itself didn't have enough extra content unlike clannad which does have the afterstory part once you complete everything. I also agree with the user above me that it's not going to happen, especially with new key titles they could just make into animes.

More importantly....why the fuck hasn't a Little Busters anime been made?

Who would write the story? Key never wrote an afterstory for Kanon.

I was very sad and surprised to not see an after story after I had seen both Clannad and Clannad:After Story. I would very much like to see what happens with them. If she gets better if they get married and so on. PLEASE!

I know that but she was still in a wheel chair and everything. I just want to see them get married and life go on with that cast was soooooooo good. Btw not going to spoil anything but when the accident happened to that one person I cried for like an hour all through the next episode lol!

Well, she just woke up from years in a hospital bed duh. That said, the game actually had a totally fine AYu in the epilogue. The anime just tried to make it a bit more realistic (by having Yuuichi finding her before she wakes up, taking care of her and her slowly recovering rather than being just fine all of a sudden). In the game Yuuichi hears about Ayu being alive only AFTER she wakes up.

If Kanon had any sort of sequel or expansion to it's story, my life would be complete.

No. Its a completed story. Heck in my opinion, Clannad did not need an After Story.

I mean, the first half of Clannad After Story was focusing on characters that did not need development:

Sunohara is just a comedy character. He didnt need a story.

The dorm chick was just a side character with barely any scenes. She didnt need a story.

The library chick was just a side character with barely any scenes. She didnt need a story.

In my opinion, Clannad should have ended when Nagisa was finally able to graduate and then married Tomoya, with Tomoya and his dad looking to reconcile with each other, and Nagisa and Tomoya holding hands looking at the future ahead as a married couple. Look at episode 13 of After Story. That should have been the last episode of Clannad.

So in conclusion, Kanon does not need an After Story. Clannad did not need an After Story. Air could use a 24-26 episodes remake.

If you really need story completion you should probably read the VN.
Sadly, the way the anime covered the VN make hard to do a propar "after story", it was not totally covered but enough to not allow a 2nd season (the anime is still great).

One of the things that I just didnt like at all of this 2006 remake is that the male MC picked the same chick he picked in the 2002 version. COME ON!!!!!!

If in this version, the MC would have picked another heroine (hopefully Nayuki), then the 2002 version would not feel "useless", and the 2002 version would have had tons of value, kinda like FMA 2003 and FMA B where both took different routes.

There are two reasons why 2002 Kanon does not feel useless:

1- In 2002 version, Nayuki actually had a crush on MC. In 2006 version, from what I remember, I dont think Nayuki has a crush on MC at all (other than when they were kids).

2- Kanon Kazahana. I dont understand why 2006 Kanon couldnt get a Kazahana episode like 2002 did.

Why would anyone take Nayuki it's his cousin come on, the childhood friend is more important. This also happens in American movies.

I agree that Nayuki has no fair ending option in this anime. But it's too extraggrerating became main reason that Kanon should continue in After Story like Clannad.

I think remake version in 2006 was designed to introduce and make solution everyone problems in one series. I also not a much questions after watching this anime myself.

i can't bring myself to like Yuuichi and Ayu relationship no matter how much i want to, it's true Ayu is a cute character but i don't think she suits romantic relationships and those things...
i ship Yuuichi/Mai but Nayuki is ok too
