It was predictable that the old man wouldn't make it, but the episode was alright. Not as good as the previous one but still solid enough.

I liked it. Definitely had a good feel to it and now I'm even more curious about the treasure.

Seems like that Second Lieutenant will help them in the end as well.

This episode felt a bit weaker than the first two episodes, but still great characters, art and music, I love this series.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

I don't know why, but i think this is the best Episode of the 3 who are Aired right now.

The Old man died, and the "Love Letter Leutnant" betray (?) the soldiers.

Some Action will be in the next Episode, i hope more as in this.^^

Gramps dying was indeed predictable, but it was still a good episode. The lieutenant is obviously gonna become their ally as well, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that happens.

Like everyone else said it was predictable that the old man was going to die (couldn't get much clearer after he mentioned the seaplane only had two seats) but I still really enjoyed the episode.

Great episode as I've come to expect from this show. I'm looking forward to the next episode since it seems that we will already be finding out exactly what the treasure is. And yeah, it would have been nice if the ED animation didn't give away the lieutenant's future actions, but oh well. Things seem to be progressing rather quickly anyway.

God, I can't remember seeing single anime episode so plain predictable lately.
I mean, we all knew that old man won't join us in this adventure for longer, but come on! And it would be nice if enemy soldiers were not such mega morons too. Automatic fall one grade down, one more episode of such QUALITY and the it will be down to category 'dropped' :(

I, for one, was hoping that grandpa would betray them. Like, "Fools! Now you have fallen into my trap and started the war again! There is no 'treasure' mwahaha!" Something along those lines.

Even still, I liked this episode a lot. And I'm glad that grandpa didn't come along for the adventure, lol.

im a lil disappointed, the preview from 2 had me amped for this and imo it fell a lil short. like she called him "love letter" but he barely even had a response.

also wth gramps took a rifle and a handgun but then in the next scene he somehow lost it. at least give it to wil to show off his riffling skills. he doesn't have to kill them, if he's so accurate he could at least injure them.

is anyone else losing interest in wil, he has so much talent yet he is just plays the part of a tag along.

Didn't enjoy this episode as much as the previous ones, but this one was pretty good.
Also, it seems like that Lieutenant will help them find the treasure. Looking forward to the next episode =)

Eh, it was OK, but I'm thinking the treasure isn't really anything physical like gold or such, since it was like a shining ray from Heaven in the old man's flash back. Maybe morals from the journey of getting to the treasure or something along those lines. Dunno how anything like that could end a war, though.

He's developing. I'm sure he'll be the most "developed" character at the end... the one that has changed the most. Or so I hope ^^

Also, remember, Wil isn't the main character -- the first half is called "Allison" for a reason :P

Wil is the lead though, was Akira the lead of Akira?

Are they finding the tresure next episode, if so isn't that awfully early.

the overall concept doesn't interest me that much and I'm sure the story is going to be stretched a lot over 26 episodes, but I still enjoyed this. It was eventful and interesting I preferred last week's episode though.

Never knows why many people disliked this anime... i mean, the score is just 7.3 like that? Come on, the story is rather interesting! It is way better than freakin' bunch of yaoi (in other words, gay) this season! I admit that the art in this anime is not attractive as the other anime as they don't have any scary bishonen and big boobs but... story DOES matter, right? This episode is great, but not greater than previous episode. They still got many rooms to improve though. I have a high expectation regarding this anime. Way to go!

He never took the rifle - only the handgun.

I still enjoyed this ep =] One of my favourites of the season.

It was as good as the last episode at least. The show continues to use a mix of story and action very well, and of course the story is top notch. As for the old man dying being predictable, it's easy to say it retrospect, but really it wasn't certain until halfway through the escape, which makes it predictable from a few minutes before, so, whatever...

Oh, and I believe this story is suppose to end halfway through the series, followed by another different story, so this story won't be drawn out... is that correct?

I dunno, I rather liked this episode. It was predictable, but I had the feeling that the old man was going to die since episode 1. XD

I like "Lieutenant Love Letter". X3 He seems like a pretty cool character. It's nice to see Wil developing, and Allison is always a treat.

Off we go to the treasure~

I am still very interested to see how this develops. I like this series a lot, considering the setting is placed far in the future but uses 1930-esque technology. It's very interesting.

I lol everytime i see a backward flying plane ^_^

THeres a reason why real planes put the propeller on the front *_* Well if it works in the A&L universe, i guess its true :P
Surprised that old man had moves like that. And whats up with the hesitation all the time.

...still like the show so far "futuristic old world technology" FTW :P

Heh, I like these Shinden-style planes.

Lt. Ker is the kind of guy who puts good pussy over nationalism- now that I respect.

This is like basically Indiana Jones, I'm digging it.

There are some major lapses in logic though- the way Allison and Wil bully their way past guards in the regular army, who ignore their orders to not let any one in- why are they bending over backwards to accommodate officers from a separate military branch or a youth paramilitary?

Ironically Walter, the only guy the bad guys need to keep alive for information, dies. There was no reason for the bad guys to use lethal force in this context.

That old guy was badass. He knocked out two guards with a cell door, could keep up with Allison and Wil in a sprint without any stamina issues, and then had a sustained shootout with multiple soldiers while only wielding a pistol.

Wonder if the playboy lieutenant is actually going to follow his orders to the letter or not.
