Damn, they can't have a holiday season in peace. Kurumi might also have an inferiority complex although I think it might just be self doubt. It sucks since this could've been a more joyous Winter break for these characters. I hope Kurumi can become stronger but Yuzu really is quite powerful for her age. |

NOOO they keep tryna make this Kyo and Yuzu ship a thing, SHE IS GAY GODDAMN IT. Anyway, she and Kurumi shined in the dungeon and it was awesome seeing their magic. Yuzu being nice to Kurumi is still blowing my mind because it feels like it happened in a few minutes lol now she wants to hold hands, be called “yuzie” and even making snacks for Kurumi and checking on her, wow. I like it, but I feel for Maki. She gonna come back to her girl having a new gf lmao Another episode, another dungeon. I reckon the gatekeeper had a seal on him that activates whenever he’s about to tell the truth about element M. And I KNEW that boy with the pink hair had to be related to Kurumi! Things starting to really pick up now. All the magic in the realm resides in Kurumi?? So she’s actually super OP then? They’re giving us bread crumbs with the story these last couple of episodes, hopefully things pick up next ep! |

Really nice episode with everyone enjoying a new year's eve party even though they were disturbed with all the craziness going on. I do hope Kurumi changes her mind and tries to become a magician again as she would be amazing. |

Aniku just falls in love with whoever is kind to him haha, poor Kurumi, she is so close to finally do it but she is only losing faith in herself, Yuzu was extra cute this episode, the episode was full of her smile. |

@Marinate1016 it feels a bit like you are focusing on things that creators never tried to show us and not paying full attention to things creators did show us. Marinate1016 said: NOOO they keep tryna make this Kyo and Yuzu ship a thing, SHE IS GAY GODDAMN IT The show is listed as fantasy and I have never seen it listed as romance. I wouldn't expect there to be much of a heavy romance element regardless of who gets together but I have seen no evidence of this "ship" you and some others keep fixating on. Yuzu and Kurumi are just becoming friends and finding a new sense of appreciation for each other, why in this day and age does everything have to be romance just because two people smile at each other. Unless you are going to hit me with some revelation from the source material and in that case I will withdraw my point. Marinate1016 said: Yuzu being nice to Kurumi is still blowing my mind because it feels like it happened in a few minutes lol To me there is very clear growth here: Episode 1 - mean girl Episode 2 - still mostly a mean girl but we are actually getting to hear her express some of her views on how she thinks what they are doing in class in pointless and how Kurumi's goal to do magic is silly - all of which will be called back to later on. Episode 4 - makes a smart comment to Kurumi meant as antagonistic but when Kurumi just smiles and says good morning she blushes and says good morning back, this is an important moment because it suggests Yuzu is just putting on a "front" and it might be easy to break her barriers down. In this episode she gets to show her skills at the potato challenge which gives her some sense of achievement, again this will be called back to. Ms Suzuki tells Yuzu that all her hard work has not been for nothing and we can see that she is really surprised by this because clearly she thought it was all pointless, this really increases her confidence and she is of course going to feel more open minded and less bitter, this will also make her feel a bit closer to Kurumi because maybe just for a fleeting moment she didn't think the goal of learning magic is quite so impossible and she can understand Kurumi. Episode 5 - Yuzu might not admit it but she is inspired by Kurumi's positivity and will to try, and she ends up inspiring others to keep going in the race, this is truly expressed at the end of the episode when Yuzu approaches Kurumi in a friendly manner and they and they share a heartfelt moment of vulnerability together both expressing how they feel they failed at magic. Yuzu still makes what seems like a cheeky comment here when she says "I couldn't stand being the same as you" but she is smiling and you can tell she means it in an ironic way given the context of the conversation. They still don't really come off as friends here but it was a major growth moment for sure. Episode 6 - Yuzu is tasked with handing out the tests and even seems to be enthusiastic about completing the task which is very different than E1&2, maybe Ms Suzuki gave her this task to help her confidence more. She expresses that she won't go home because she won't return until she has some achievement to tell her family, we can now look back on her previous actions and start to understand her better. She was skeptical of Ms Suzuki because if she wasn't doing magic she at least wanted to achieve academically and not waste her time on something she didn't think she could ever understand (ancient magic), and these same feelings also caused her to go against someone like Kurumi because she felt like Kurumi's dream of being a magician was as lost as hers. Yuzu and Kurumi then finds themselves in an unexpected situation in which they are the only ones not going home and given all the previous growth it is absolutely believable that they would not resist spending some time together, and now they find out they like each other and later on when Yuzu gets scared she finally admits to herself completely that Kurumi's positivity and will to try is something she sees strength in, so she looks to Kurumi for that strength in a scary moment. I personally think this has been good development and not rushed at all. Yuzu was never a "Malfoy", she was just someone who was lashing out and being standoffish because she felt insecure about her own failures, we have all been guilty of that I am sure. |

Yuzu stepped up to the plate when it mattered most at the start whether she remembered or not. No surprise Kurumi is depressed as she keeps failing at magic. Now we get to see the human form of the school nurse. I am really curious as to the relationship of Manami and Kurumi's grandmother. So the dog dog is actually Kurumi's sister? |

@motqalden totally agree dude...this anime is getting hella annoying..the mc is slowly becoming more and more pathetic...this kinda reminded me of the anime bucchigiri... that anime's mc patheticness is on par with this anime mc |

EP 7 Last time we had some ridiculous cliffhang and uhh aaand yuzu to the rescue owo wouldnt be an ep without some shenanigans its kinda silly how we literally got into the same situation twice in one ep uhh so yeah no kurumi, no sign of sensei more talking with yuzu honestly more questions than answers what can be said meanwhile sensei sooo i mean shrug one of the other commenters pointed out the mystery person. otherwise So in this ep uhh...some shenanigans. yuzu. meanwhile kurumi Sensei and hmmm. i mean no dramatic cliffhang this time, although kinda whatever |

Interesting... So it's Yuzu who uses magic first! Instead of being inspired after seeing impossible possible, Kurumi gets depressed and now even decides to drop magic completely. Kind of get it, imagine wanting to be a mage your whole life, but you keep failing, but then this other girl who wasn't really into magic (or left such impression) does it pretty much on her first try. That's an "Ouch" moment, but low self esteem broke her it seems. We had other surprises too. Turns out Kurumi's granny was one the top student from the school. Turn out the shapeshifter student spying on Kurumi is her brother!!! And, turns out Kurumi is special and has immense powers but hasn't awoken them yet. How come Minami knows this though? Family connections maybe? Anyways, there's still some intrigue in the show, although got to admit characters aren't compelling and it's making the show a bit too boring IMO. |

"Instead of addressing any of the points this person made I will pull the old classic of pretending I didn't read it even though I read every...single...word - and multiple times, and also make some strange jibe about number of quotes as if that is somehow relevant and changes the fact I had poor attention to detail and couldn't understand basic storytelling." nice try though ;) feel free to resume ignoring all of the intricacies of the story and just focus on brainless things like "OMG THIS CHARACTER SMILED AT THE OTHER SHIP SHIP SHIP" |

It seems like the scene where Kurumi can use magic will only happen in the last 2 episodes but unexpectedly Yuzu is the one who is able to use ancient magic, this certainly breaks Kurumi's heart. I really understand Kurumi's self-confidence issues. Even though she is the one who likes magic the most, she can't do it Can someone tell me if Yuzu likes Kyo or just admires him? Sorry, the perfect guy type like Kyo is the type I hate the most. I hope there are no female characters here who fall in love, if so this is no different from anime like precure series |

Yuzu being nice to Kurumi is still blowing my mind because it feels like it happened in a few minutes lol now she wants to hold hands, be called “yuzie” and even making snacks for Kurumi and checking on her, wow. I like it, but I feel for Maki. She gonna come back to her girl having a new gf lmao
Another episode, another dungeon.

@patkarunungan right, like unless they are planning a season 2 or something because this plot development is just dragging like crazy |

@PaintedlUniverse Correct. We wouldn't really be annoyed if this was a 24- or 26-episode anime. If that was the case, the pacing seems fine. But an anime that's only good for 12 episode with a low probability of having a second season, this is frustrating. Interesting to note: Some translations of the title is: The Story of the Girl Who Cannot Use Magic, which implies Kurumi. Maybe they're staying too faithful with the title, and it'll be worst if Kurumi can't wield magic at all when Episode 12 comes or leaves us on a cliffhanger. |

similar problem as the little witch academia. characters are one dimensional, plot elements do not connect well, every event are plot devices that achieves ultimately nothing. music is nice though. |

nice to see Yuzu can already cast a spell. the monster / thing can neutralize the book, So it's important to have someone who can cast ancient magic. oh, and it's a surprise that Minami sensei knows Kurumi grandma. looking forward to next week. |
