Going after a market where demand is high. A common sense tactic but logical one.

It looks like this AI arc really tests how these guys can use their brains to get the most of their resources. Not bad for Gaku tbh. I think he's learning and gaining experience from doing all this work.

The boys are going to Kabukicho. Not having a single Yakuza reference would have been a missed opportunity, so we got Kiryu Gaku lmao

Kinda reminds me of Catch Me If You Can in which the protagonist has to pretend to be expert in many versatile areas, and he's very good at pretending.

Gaku's been crunching all night that he hadn't had time to shave.
Haru's initial test of the "AI" seemed mean spirited but there will be users asking those sorts of questions eventually and there's the fact Rinrin believed it was a real customer. She's V-Tubing all day and on campus to create the illusion of AI while there's still time to for Gaku to program a real one.
They did have some sales, but now they have to find their market rather than sell everything. It's flowers, and that it's something fans give to idols sparks another scheme for Haru.
Not the first time a character voiced by Ootsuka Takeo did the otagei at an idol group's live. Perfectly cast lol
To take a foothold in this market, he catches the attention of an idol superfan with a lot of influence on social media, if he buys flowers for his Oshi through their "AI" then others will follow suit.
Haru has sets a new improbable goal for the company at their meeting the the florist (Rinrin got Turing tested). But being able to be an idol Otaku one moment and a host the next, Haru knows where the biggest market for flowers is.
Gaku with the Kiryu fit lol

@Fortress_Maximus I think Gaku will use Rinrin's answers to train the real AI

So Haru and Gaku created a fake AI website that sells clothing and flowers with Rinrin acting as a V-Tuber for the website's avatar. Rinrin's knowledge of flowers proved very useful and generated quick sales thanks to Haru infiltrating the Top Otaku group. Haru and Gaku managed to sell the fake AI to a local flower shop under the condition that they do 20 million is sales in one month. To reach that goal Haru and Gaku ended up working in a male host club in Shijuku's red light district of Kaibukicho. The host club seems like a perfect fit for Haru, but I'm not sure about Gaku who has poor social skills.

I can't help, but relate to the Yakuza games when I'm watching this. Very underrated.

I....I don't understand. Why couldn't they create the program in the first place if, according to Haru's crazy plan, they could quickly create it when needed?

@hoshimachinova I still remember when Yakuza was just a fresh new game on PS2 lmao.

I love it. New arc but it's already epic.

So we have market testing then narrowing the niche. Then, scaling up. I like that it uses some business terms I read in a business book such as Minimum Viable Product. I am nerding out on this anime. Yay!

@RobertBobert

You're talking about thousands or more of lines of code and they don't know if there's a market for their product.

Once they know which products sells, the resulting program is more fine-tuned compared with creating that program without first determining if there's a demand for such product.

@patkarunungan Give me an example of at least one point of their plan that would not have worked if they had initially had an excellent program instead of Rinrin's advice?

I swear, all the characters are top tier in this show. Monsters. Has A LOT of superiority given to female characters with Kirihime being competent unlike the male board peers, future secretary being competent, TG CEO being a goddess, the flower store owner being competent unlike the male peers, et cetera. This is realistic as there are many female monsters, are 2 monster MC's just happen to be male.

Haru, I'm mostly with you, except. How will you make actual AI that is good? Like that is the only flaw I am seeing from all these perspectives, him getting/giving a legitimate product. Not just small time goodness.

@RobertBobert

Their website was initially selling flowers plus a bunch of other stuff, let's call them flowers then X, Y and Z.

And let's suppose for discussion's sake that writing the AI program for flowers plus X, Y, and Z takes 4000 lines of code.

Without knowing that flowers is profitable and not X, Y, and Z, Gaku would have wasted writing 3000 lines of code when 1000 lines would do. By only writing the needed 1000 lines, any additional lines of code Gaku writes is fine-tuning the AI for selling flowers.

In addition, Rinrin made an excellent point of them not having to throw money to have the products on hand before trying to sell.

They didn't initially know which products would sell. Once they know that only flowers would sell, it's money well spent in buying flowers from others then reselling them.

In other words, they profit off arbitrage.

Theoretically, what you are proposing might work but at the cost of wasted time and money.

@patkarunungan What prevented them from first creating a general advisor program, and then simply repurposing it for flowers? Again, Gaku is a genius programmer and Haru implies that they can easily work on this.

@RobertBobert We may agree to disagree here.

Like I said, it's wasted effort even if Gaku could.

Plus, the point of the episode from my POV is testing which products are profitable and only investing time, effort, and money on those profitable products.

Besides, this show wouldn't be as entertaining as it is without Haru scheming on what looks like shenanigans.

@patkarunungan The fact of the matter is that the concept of the show is “crazy manipulations and shenanigans that make you rich.” I understand that the anime romanticizes the lack of fear of risk and unusual ideas and approaches, but some moments just seem like crazy ideas for the sake of crazy ideas.

Rinrin becoming both a CEO and VTuber in such a short amount of time has me rolling, not to mention Haru reacting to the word "connections" like a shark smelling fresh blood in the water lmao

it hurts that they would mention vtubers at all, especially in an anime by the legendary riichiro inagaki
but at least gaku understands that vtubers are evil and is using them for evil

beyond that this was a fine episode of a great show, im not sure why the average score is below a 7 but i cant be mad when the show literally featured vtuberism in an episode

i know i probably sound insane but i promise im not trolling, i am fully serious and these are my honest thoughts
vtubers are extremely harmful and should not exist and a prime example of their harm is the fact that they were able to taint the creation of a manga legend, though their primary harm is sexual immorality, cringe, and cultural degradation

This is brilliantly funny and entertaining. Realistic? No. Similar to Dr. Stone, a bit out there, but in the best way! Never know what crazy plan they will cook up next :)

I agree I tried it out as a hobby on a platform that already has pre built gacha and most people on there mentally destroyed me and gave me severe trauma and it even lead to ptsd so yeah seems like vtubers or at least most of them are toxic

Lmao with Haru's techniques the fake AI site worked well and now they're trying to sell it... and it's going to work only if they make 20M of monthly turnover okay it's gonna be fun because now they have to work in Kabukicho
