In episode 2 of "Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi," we see Uryu is being portrayed as a jack of all trades, injecting humor by giving every Amagami sister a hard time.
Despite his aspirations to study for the Kyoto Medical University exams, his role as a freeloader burdens him with arranged marriage considerations and household chores, seemingly steering him toward becoming a househusband rather than a doctor which is ridiculously funny.
The series, while rich in ecchi comedy, I see that it delves into darker and deeper themes such as struggling orphanages and children with sick parents. But Mahiru-sensei's unwavering dedication, managing everything alone with a bright smile, adds a poignant touch.
I find the anime's backdrop, set in Kyoto, features dreamlike, spectacular visuals that enhance its overall allure.

Honestly I'd be more interested in this show if Uryuu lived in that foster home helping out the smoking hot Doctor Mahiru and living with his childhood friend friend Shirahi. Both of them are way better then those sloppy sisters. It's funny at first glance you'd think "yeah, every dudes dream" then you realize the oldest is a complete slob going for a terrible college degree, the middle is stuck-up and can't even cook and is overly critical and no 17 year old wants to marry a 14 year old kid, she's a clutz too so that doesn't give her any points. Those 3 factually suck so I didn't blame him at all when he decided to leave. Why stay in a house looking after 3 spoiled brats instead of going back to the place you were raised to do the same thing that's actually way more meaningful because your helping an overworked doctor take care of children whose parents may not make it, his decision absolutely made perfect sense.

I'm reeling honestly, I've never seen a male MC this good with such terrible female harem choices. Poor guy.

Why is that old man trying to marry her daughter to this guy ? any specific reason.. (he's so good, but still)
Now let's see how the meeting goes with all sisters.
@Su_mi_ko I think he said it, didn't he? He is looking for an successor or a head of the family who can take over the shrine. The girls are too dumb to take over.

Surprisingly quite a good episode, atleast compared to the first one. However i can't get over how much i dislike the premise of the whole story, especially in regards to Asahi. Why is that senile old man trying to marry off a 14-year old, that's not very hip and trendy if you ask me. I am not a big fan of harems in general, so this could never be a top show for me, but it would have been much better if the anime just dropped the whole arranged marriage deal. But i guess that's how these things go, i'll be looking to see if i keep watching or not after the next episode

My man actually just left, probably the best decision he has made up until now
@Nawic Anyway, it’s not legal for minors to get married. Asahi will have to wait until she turns 18, when Uryu is 21 (then the age difference won’t sound so strange, isn't?). Arranged marriages (or rather, arranged meetings) wouldn’t be so uncommon for a family that seems to follow old traditions.

@Gnza A 3 year age gap between two adult is basically nothing, i very much agree with that, the problem is that they aren't said adults yet. If a 50 year old and a 40 year old are married it doesn't sound too bad, but that same age gap between an 18 and 8 year is however very much not cool. That is the kind of slightly icky feeling i get, even though they aren't doing anything illegal per say, the younger they are the more significant every year of age difference is. And i do wonder about the legality of marriage, i don't know how the laws in Japan are, but where i am from there are some really old laws that i believe allow minors to get married at 16 if the police accepts it. It is a law literally nobody uses, but the fact still remains that it exists (if i remember correctly that is, i might be wrong, i am a dumbass)

Now as noted i am not a big fan of these shows, so my brain will automatically look for things that will justify me not liking it, i am human after all. So i won't pretend my morals necessarily perfect, there are big culture differences at work here. I am glad people are enjoying the anime though, reading these forums are always a great way for me to challenge my thoughts regarding these subjects.

@Nawic The discussion surrounding a 17 dating a 14 often revolves around perceived disparities in mental and emotional maturity—differences that tend to be more pronounced during the teenage years than in adulthood. This dynamic often raises concerns about exploitation or unfairness toward one party. However, I wonder why we can't envision such a relationship in a way that is idealistic, balanced, and genuinely wholesome in a romantic sense in the world of fiction, where the complexities of real-world individuals give way to idealism, narrative simplicity, and convenience. What prevents us from setting aside our judgments and suspending disbelief, just as we do for the existence of thousand-year-old elves with childlike faces or teenagers with excessive mature bodies? After all, the protagonist harbors no bad motives regarding Asahi, who is portrayed as more mature for her age (at least, she is more mature than her 20-year-old sister). The age difference can be seen merely as a number, serving as an excuse for Asahi's small appearance. If this courtship is developed in a innocently way, I would support them. I don't know

@Yuu_Kanzaki you can disagree and be wrong at the same time lil bro :)

wether you like it or not, it completely changes how one of the major arcs of the manga plays out, and i highly doubt they showing Shirahi will somehow make it "better" (which i think its just wrong, Shirahi and her arc are good as they are in the manga)

they will either not adapt her arc, or just put Shirahi as another potential love interest, which is a shame because a lot of people will not read the manga and will be left with this impression of Shirahi

Yeah like just take a complete 180 for no reason when just the other episode you were telling these girls that god doesn't exist and he doesn't help you in the grand scheme of things, but now we're just blatantly lying to the kids about the thousand paper cranes when you've experienced first hand that doing either of the two don't work in the grand scheme of things.

Though, poor dude in the end had bigger things to deal with than do that to a bunch of kids so it makes sense, like these three couldn't be more useless lmao.

Manga reader comrades. Help me out here. Isn’t Shirahi being introduced so early in episode 2 bad for the continuity?? I mean, she was introduced well beyond S1 material in the manga. So having her in S1 and that too, so early seems trainwrecking to me. More so if y know how much her role is in future events!

@DelphinSquared i just think it hinders everyone, Uryuu, Shirahi and the plot as a whole
Shirahi is kinda important because she is really disruptive, unless youre completely blinded by tomboys, when Shirahi is introduce you just dont like her, her arc is literally the worst of her qualities given form, which is also around the same point where Uryu starts to take real notice of the sisters

to me the manga is a solid 7, this change in the anime doesnt bring down my enjoyment to a 3 or something like that, but i really cant see the positives of changing Shirahi's introduction, it would be different if the show was 12 episodes and someone on the production really liked Shirahi and wanted her animated, but with 24 episodes they can reach her arc safely... which makes me think theyre not animating Shirahi's arc at all and just introduce her in other forms throught the show

if they change her to be Yuna's and Uryu's classmate im chopping my left nut off and sending it to the animation studio

Uryuu's the perfect husbando, task failed successfully for Yuna. Best girl Mahiru nee san is here and wait Shirahi too? Mahiru looks beautiful and they also dropping the hints from her early on here in the anime. With this and Shirahi's intro guess the adaptation wants to highlight the harem most.

Also knew they wouldn't be able to give as much attention to detail to this scene like in manga.

You know with harems, they usually establish that the girls are the ones that are a real waifu material ... But i think with todays episode we established that it is the main guy whos a real husband material here, lmao.

Also, i dont know who this Mahiru woman is, but i know she's the best girl already.

Uryu and the Amagami sisters really got played by their grandfather-cum-chief priest of the place, costing lodging and his future on the line, how can he ever say no?

Of course, all 3 sisters would not relent to this fact, and wants to chase Uryu out by all means possible: food, laundry and the like, concocted by Yuna. But whatever he does, the end result comes with elegance, until the point of witnessing Yae's overcrowded messy room, and even that is done with much difficulty. But is clear goal to become a doctor at Kyoto University, and having to pile himself with the chores, isn't going to work out...and the process of him leaving the shrine conversely has Yuna all worried for him.

The girls following Uryu to the Kiseki-En foster home run by doctor Miharu Anekoji, even she thinks that he is too good for one of the 3 sisters, to the point that she can even be a threat for Uryu being comfortable in his own place. Alongside his childhood friend of Shirahi Tsuyushima, the home has been the place for kids alike without their homes and parents to accompany them, and getting the sisters to do a thousand paper cranes seem impossble until Uryu stepped in to help allay the kids, because he used to do that with his mother on toll. To someone who's all studious, the Amagami shrine and sisters are proof that what he wanted to do isn't out of reach, as much as Mahru has been Uryu's motivation all the time.

The trip back to the Amagami shrine for everyone...it's back to square one, but starting one-on-one marriage meetings with the idea to get to know them better...might as well get the plot moving then.

Ahh so that’s why Uryu wants to become a doctor and get into Kyoto Uni it’s bc of Mahiru who he admires for her hardworking and kind nature she’s a real one for making an orphanage for kids who have no parents or parents who can’t take care of their kids bc they’re hospitalize she’s a nice character I like her a lot already and Uryu isn’t a cliche harem protagonist who’s shy this guy is a breathe of fresh air ngl :))))

The girls being useless after ALL THAT fucking had me dying man these girls are gonna be such a pain for Uryu who simply wants to study to get into Kyoto Uni, like Asahi can’t hang up clothes on a rope, Yae is the embodiment of sloth and Yuna can’t cook for shit bc she takes hours just to start making food like I can’t with these girls I love them so much already they’re a pain but they’re cute🤣🥹🤣

Hoping we get back to some fanservice shenanigans im waiting to see some Asahi fanservice🙄😫
