I love how Mina plays the role of a parent guardian this episode. She acts just like a human although gets lost...

On the other hand, Mina and Mamoru's chemistry is very entertaining to watch. Seeing two machines interact with each other like a mom and child is nothing short of amusing imo.

Mina taking on the parental role as Mamoru's guardian, teaching it the ways of crossing the road, though she does take the roundabout approach when it comes to zebra crossings. The road thereafter, Mina gets hopelessly lost and has to depend on landmarks and signs to help her get home, but nothing is working out, that thankfully has the problem resolved when it comes to addresses. And then again, the food...is kinda questionable at best.

Takuma having a bath with Mina, Mamoru sure gets jealous since his robotic body cannot handle high heat. But the latter having her speaker broken since her scuffle with Super Mina, she ends up beep-ing her speech through temporarily for the time being until the replacement is done. Mina teaching Mamoru to read and recognize the various Japanese languages of Hiragana and Katakana is a fun one, though telling him that they made both readings "by mistake" is hilarious, plus with Mamoru's interpretation through Mina.

It's a lil' different and out of the way, but this episode is great nonetheless.

Mina finally accepting her mother role with Mamoru, love to see it. After watching terminator zero I can’t help but think she and Misaki have a lot in common lol. Lot of cute stuff in this one though.

Them getting lost in the park and having to find their way home was so cute. She gets a little tsun tsun at times, but you can tell she really cares for and wants to protect the little guy

She still gets jealous about sharing any of the intimate time she and Takuma have with Mamoru tho. She was gonna kill him if he got in that bath with them lmao. kinda got a bit of karma since her speakers got messed up

Teaching Mamoru Hirgana and Katakana was such a cute scene, they need to show that to foreigners learning Japanese lol. “It’s a mystery perhaps they made two by mistake” 😂

Fun episode and this unlikely family is really coming together

It was nice seeing Mina and Mamoru finally have an episode together to work on their relationship. Their little temporary language was kind of funny. I'm surprised Mina didn't just have a built in app that showed the GPS of her travel or image based snapshots or something and relied entirely on the internet and arbitrary landmarks but that was still a neat section, the times Mamoru pointed out something she missed when she tried to showoff and teach him and that she wouldn't directly respond but continued like with the crosswalk button scene was good.

Bibibibi?

Mina attempts to navigate the streets while a network outage has taken out her map. We got the not-so-subtle imagery of Mamoru climbing inside her stomach oven/refrigerator compartment, so there's that. The second half of the episode where Mina teaches Mamoru how to read was kind of nice.

Not sure what to think of Mamoru taking over the entire show. It's pick your poison between him and Takuma, honestly.

This episode was full of craziness, starting with Mina showing Mamoru how she'll hide him inside her and ending with the machines creating a whole new language a la facebook a.i.

Also loving how she tries to ignore when she messes up and Mamoru not understanding why.

An episode focused on Mina and Mamoru, it was both fun and sweet to see them in different situations. But the most endearing part was seeing Mina take on a motherly role, even praising Mamoru after seeing how quickly he learned. It was also very amusing to watch him converse in his own language.

EP 10

Its ep 10
Last time, we had mina, backstory, super mina

So yeah in this ep uhh.
So mina goes shopping, sort of. Rather she gets lost.
And then somehow manages to recover
Then she damages her speaker and uh yeah
A weird episode and yet

Somehow with some luck nothing happened, I was expecting a big fuss about going searching for mina at night or the next day

This episode was more about Mina Mamuru getting closer.

“We may need to live in the park” 🤣

If was cute seeing leaven tp get home together.

She bragged about her level 8 waterproofing but her speaker was damaged 😅

So they learned a new way to communicate
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Episode was ok since nothing much happened other than they showed how reliant Mina is to the internet, especially when she goes outside. Mamoru seems to have a bit more common sense than Mina and with his help they were able to find their way home.

Side note, it was a bit amusing how Mina hides her mistakes by not saying much such as her not realizing she needed to press a button to make the light turn green and why she used up all of the frozen ingredients she bought that day.

Thinking about it again, people are saying she behaved like a mother but if you take in mind the type of mistakes and conclusions she reaches, she was acting just like the cliche of a 7 year old showing off to a 5 year old anime does from time to time.

"see the traffic light? we can only cross when it's green" does not take in mind you have to press a button for it to work on this type of light, "this crossing has no light so it's broken" doesn't understand how the crossing works without a light, "I can totally go back without a map" uses cats and cars as landmarks, "we're lost and can't go back" starts to make up how they'll live the rest of their lives in a park instead of asking around/figuring out where they are and where their house is.

I wonder if that's why they dressed Mina in such a childish outfit.

This one was just goofy fun, my favorite type of episode lol. The first half about Mina and Mamoru going shopping was pretty chill with some silly moments, like Mina not realizing that guy in the car was letting her cross the road or that “landmarks” like cats and trucks do not stay in the same place lol, Mamoru questioning Mina on her blunders was hilarious too. They even got lost to the point they thought of living at the park forever lol, but thankfully they realized they’re in the general area of Takuma’s apartment and managed to find it using signs, and they somehow managed to make it back without Takuma realizing his wife and child were nearly stranded lol, nice. And I guess the outage explanation makes sense, but you’d think that Mina would have something in place to prevent that like downloading the route or something, but this bit was fun so I don’t mind that kind of issue.

And the 2nd half where Mina could only beep was very cute, maybe Takuma should consider keeping the beeping permanently lol, but nah being able to understand her is nice. And Mina somehow managed to teach Mamoru two types of Japanese despite the beeping, that was pretty fun and had some funny bits like Mina explaining that “they made two by mistake” lol, and in the end they managed to create their own language around the beeping which sounded even more goofy than before, poor Takuma was lost but that is quite the wild thing to come home to, you’d think they were locked in there for years to make up a language like that lol.

This was a funny episode.

Mamoru is just too cute, and it seems he's more competent than Mina in some cases!

Mina was arrogant and stupid in the first half, lol. Getting lost, ignoring criticism, acting superior. Mina is lucky Mamoru isn't old enough to roast her for it (yet).

I laughed hard with Hiragana, Katakana comments. "Why make 2?"
"Dunno, maybe dem silly Japs made 2 by mistake?" :D Stupid hummies.

Wonder how many people, starting to learn Japanese, had the same thought.

No, not the Kanji! (Lucky they're not Chinese, lol)

So, this episode was a little more laid-back that usual, allowing us to explore a couple of curious features of AI learning.

First, was the AI's ability to contextualise. In other words, the ability of AI to put unfamiliar clues together, and make decisions accordingly. This was always one of the "hard" AI questions that differentiated the AI that can play chess (having all the rules and everything it needs to know explained from the outset), and an actual learning algorithm that absorbs information and makes decisions based on contextual clues. This very problem was solved (for intents and purposes) with the employment of powerful deep-learning algorithms and neural networks around the turn of 2010s.

Second was the object permanence, which was a big problem for AI vision (most famously in Tesla cars). Basically the AI could not differentiate between objects that are static (streets, walls, signs, buildings), and objects that are mobile (animals, cars, people). So if a Tesla saw a dog sitting at the crossroad it would just stop and wait forever for it to cross, or if a car was parked at a funny angle the Tesla would forever wait for it to pull out. It took a considerable effort for both AI vision engineers and AI learning engineers to finally come up with a solution. Of course Tesla wasn't the only company dealing with this problem. There was Waymo, Boston Dynamics, and many others.

The last was AI to AI conversation. Basically, the AI engineers at Facebook asked two AI chatbots to talk to each other, and pretty soon the conversation evolved into a language no human could understand. It used roughly the same words, but the grammar and syntax were completely off, and some utterly strange patterns started to occur. It was as if the two AI were talking to each other in the most efficient way, but with no regard for human understanding. A bit creepy, so the engineers at Facebook decided to shut it down.

Overall, I think this episode was a very clever, newbie-friendly introduction to hard AI problems, even if all of them are pretty much irrelevant now. But still, a very much appreciated AI history lesson.

Mina finally got to mother Mamoru. First by taking him outside to a store and then teaching him Japanese alphabets. That's pretty wholesome.

Mina got lost pretty easily there. Shows how being entirely reliant on the internet isn't a good thing. I'm surprised she didn't have a backup of the map in her storage but instead relied on making some bad landmarks. I guess it's cause she doesn't go out much. In the end, it was Mamoru who helped her. That was kinda cool to see.

So, some water got inside Mina when she took a bath with Takuma. Thankfully only her speaker was broken. Sad she only had to use beeps to communicate. But it's funny that out of all days she decided to teach Mamoru Japanese letters when she couldn't speak. The way she taught Mamoru was pretty cool too. Robots learn fast. And the way the two developed their own language was a bit creepy ngl.

Next episode it looks like Takuma will finally reveal his robot wife to his parents. I wonder if they're gonna be supportive...

Such an adorable episode. Mina started bonding with Mamoru and taking a more active role in raising him. They make a pretty good pair together, helping each other with their shortcomings.

And what's with this?

I can't believe nudity like this was allowed to be broadcast. Her crotch plate is in full view.

OMG this episode STRESSED ME OUT
Mina decided to go out on her own with Mamoru, to prove she can since she's a Class 2 android, but as she walked awkwardly and slowly I was freaking out about Truck-kun showing up! Mina sees a crosswalk, and doesn't seem to understand how the signal works (Truck-kun is out there!). Then she sees one without a light, and doesn't attempt to cross even though someone waved her by. Then she gets lost after going to the Asashi market. I thought as the sun went down her battery would run out... she made it home somehow though and I wiped the sweat from my forehead...
She made a meal at home then with frozen vegetables... Mina's mistakes and faults are very cute. I don't get the extended-leg thing... she shouldn't be able to go into a bath, but there you are.
Then in the morning Mina wakes Takuma- and beeps at him! That brings a whole new challenge in communicating with her- yet her personality continues to be 100%
Mina is so wonderful

Mina is actually pretty bad at finding her way around but at least she figured it out.

I can totally see clips of Mina teaching Mamoru hiragana and katakana being actually used by people for years lol

Plenty of interaction between Mina and Mamoru in this ep, more so than usual.
Mamoru completes Mina and Mina develops Mamoru, thanks to her, Mamoru is developing this vocabulary and knowledge very rapidly, conversely, with Mamoru around, mina is able to see things that she usually would not see, Mamoru's curious nature allows him to point out things that Mina either missed or have not thought of like that address on the electric pole, clever.

Might I just say that Mina looked absolutely adorable in that outfit when she went to pick up the groceries from the supermarket? Wow, again I want to see more episodes focusing on Takuma and Mina just going on a date or outside or something, seeing them act affectionately towards each other and seeing Mina in another cute outfit. With only 2 eps remaining, I am holding my breath.

Mina is becoming more and more like a mother to Mamoru, more than just 'giving birth' to Mamoru's personality construct, she's also nurturing him as though her own child. Though if that was the case, Mamoru peeking into the bath is akin to going inside the bath when your father and mother are taking a bath all naked, yikes. Takuma needs to teach him some of the more social aspects.

All Mamoru needs is to ditch that obnoxious AYIIIEEE sound of his, you ain't cute at all. Maybe if he got a new body like Takuma hinted at.

I think this episode is more about old tech vs new tech

Just like the cheapest teslas today can outrun any supercars in the 80s, Mina as the genesis of her robot series does show her age and lacks computing power to a point that even Mamoru is able to tell some of her decisions are not accurate

But they inventing a new language is funny though

Despite the deeper lore behind how Mina came to last episode, this week had a more light-hearted flair to it and I really do like what happened this episode despite it being very normal and everyday life-like, the shopping sequence had funny moments Mina completing ignoring Mamoru asking why she didn't press the button 😂
I really like that despite Mamoru having less brainpower from his brain Class, he is still pretty intelligent especially in putting two and two together with the addresses, they really made him shine a lot this episode

The speaker malfunction language creation was amusing and the chemistry outside of Mina's jealousy of Mamoru being treated well by Takuma is really sweet
It's funny that like Takuma treats Mamoru like his kid whereas I feel that Mina treats Mamoru as more of an equal compared to ahahhahahah

Mina and Mamoru went grocery shopping. MBoth got lost when there is a network outage with Mina unable to access a map online. Guess by slowly working their way round the neighborhood, they made it back safely to the apartment. Mina's speaker was damaged and decided to use the time to teach Mamoru Japanese. Plus both developed a language based on Mina's beep.
