Man, this show is getting more depressing each time. Village destroyed, people killed..

Senya can't escape his troubles but at least, he has friends and allies by his side now. More importantly, Mudo makes his appearance although he has a bit of a hot temper. Not the easy type to get along with tbh.

I don't know what other people focus on the new OP but I'm personally focus on Senya. When he's in skin-tight suit he reminds me of Ragna (from Ragna Crimson), but the highlight is when he's shirtless. Too much muscular for the boy of his age so he's either train like crazy and get transformed or there'll be a time-skip.

Also, for those who think that the black dragon boy has the same voice actor as Bakugo, you're wrong.

Being reminded of Shinsuke emotional baggage sure hits hard not just for the character.

Stereo Dive Foundation's OP sure has a lot of spoilers, that's for sure.

With Tsukiko following both Shinsuke and Senya, the latter's food has to be stolen by a tiny creature, though he will not risk killing anyone in favour of his new life. The creature ends up following them, though it has its own case of amnesia as well. And one demon of Happonmatu Kenki wants to fight Senya, though he's rather unwilling to do so, leaving Tsukiko to wield Shinsuke's sword to fight it, thereby awakening said guy to duel with the katawara, sending him packing. Looks like the leftover demons still have a feud against Senya, which he wants to become human and not fight back, it's a rather surprising development, unlike his past.

The return of Mudo on the loose against Senya, the former reminds him so much of Jinun, though the thousand katawara within him is rather frightened to face a devil black dragon of a character. And though Tsukiko had a moment of attacking Mudo, Nau came as the regional water god to assist her, and partly too because of her eyesight. But despite her best efforts, she unfortunately gets captured by Mudo, leaving Senya stranded.

What will it take for Senya to bolster another fight again?

Now thats more like it,thats the Sengoku i remembered.Still not as clean animation as 1st season, but got some great sequences in there.

OP is a banger but no denying some big spoilers in there.ED also slaps, tho not as Fate like as 1st ED was since Yuki kajiura isn't making it this time.

Man this was a great episode! Some nice characterisation and action at the end! I’m loving the parallels between Shinsuke’s new team of Senya and Tsukiko vs last cour’s Jinka and Tama. This time it’s Shinsuke playing the experienced master and dad of the group lol.

Senya is almost the complete opposite of Jinka who was obsessed with getting stronger and becoming a full fledged Katawara. Senya just wants peace and to not have people hurt because of him. Tsukiko of course has an obvious parallel to Saku, but also to Shinsuke himself in how obsessed he was with getting stronger and learning the ways of the sword.

TIMESKIP TAMA??! 😭 can’t just tease that and not have her show up to save the day lol, although Nau’s power up was sweet too. That cliffhanger with Tsukiko getting abducted by Mudo got me craving more. I know senya doesn’t want to fight or get anyone hurt, but there’s nothing wrong with defending the people you care about if bad people seek you out.

Can not wait until the next episode. Wish this show got more attention.

Next episode is going to be hot fire.

Was that Tama with long hair? if so, I am beyond excited.

The opening spoils a lot, I noticed.

Did the script writer make a fourth wall breaking joke about how they skipped the first time these two met? Guess they realized that random one off was more important than they thought.

The pacing is still rather fast, but better than last time.

That OP though. Please don't tell me Shakuyaku comes back to life and the OP spoiled it by showing her. Not after the recent chapters of a completely different manga that I'm reading where something similar happened, which made me furious.

I snorted at "What a manly sneeze! So cool..."

Pretty exciting, but it feels like they're still laying the groundwork for the season.

Bruh, this was freakin great. Unless he pulls some mad moves, kinda like Shinsuke not being overpowered but he does have some skill. And i like how Tsukiko was able to get some help from this regional water god and was able to see the movement of this dragon, i hope we can see her develop more later on. And speaking of developing, we got to see more Tama, lol

Man, what was she thinking?! There is no way she was going to be able to hurt a dragon. Man, try hitting some lizards first girl. Oops, don't let PETA know I said this!

Glad this show is back, and with 22 episodes this season to boot.

I get early 2000s anime vibes from it and I like it. Even the ED has an old school feeling to it.

Tsukiko got snatched by the dragon, what’s he gonna do with her?

And looking from the comments here, it was a right thing to do.

Ain't no way, Tama is back this early?
And she is older now?

Amazing OP and ED. Plot is getting more intriguing.

This got to be the most underwatched/ underrated anime of the season.
Potential to be the black horse of the season.

OP is very spoilery. I haven't read the manga but I can tell lol.

OP aside, seeing Tama again was nice and all. But poor Senya got that Shinsuke treatment, with his main lead just being taken from him lol.

Wasn't quite feeling it last episode but this was a decent step up even if I still don't really care for Senya. I didn't buy Tsukiko not blaming him and wanting to protect him after he killed her father, but I like having her along so oh well. Her pestering Shinsuke was a nice call back to the previous season.

The dragon and the battle against it was pretty awesome, didn't feel like a rehash of Jinun from season 1 just its own thing which I appreciated. I was rolling my eyes at the cutesy Nau sidekick showing up but then it turned into a cool water god. With Shinsuke out of commission and the dragon threatening to snack on Tsukiko that's enough to get my psyched for the next episode. But on top of that Tama? Almost thought that was her mom showing up.

I was skeptical but we're starting to get going now.

Damn good episode. It looked beautiful with some good story beats. My one critique of the anime, this applied to season 1 as well, is that the power scaling and strength is very inconsistent.
You know the British Empire was pretty cool, we definitely peaked with it.

How is it inconsistent? I thought the power scaling was pretty clear.

The new OP was good. Could've done without all the spoilers tho. But it makes me think that this episode will be used throughout the entire season. There likely won't be a third OP which just feels like BS. The ED was good too. I think I liked it more than the first ED.

Man, Shinsuke has turned into an alcoholic. I mean, I understand why but still.

I wasn't expecting Tama to return in the 2nd episode. Hopefully, she'll fix alcoholic Shinsuke.

New mascot character unlocked. He seems to have amnesia like Senya. He's probably also OP like him. Tsukiko named him Nau which is an alright name Ig.

Senya doesn't want to fight. Bro thinks he's Thorfinn.

Senya wants to become human like Jinka wanted to become katawara. And Tsukiko is following around Shinsuke as he once followed around Jinka and Tama. How the turntables.

What's the deal with that new dragon character? Can't wait to find out. I regret not watching this sooner now.

do you mean this anime alone gets 3 comic relief characters? such luxury

I dunno how to feel abt this. Sengoku Youko has its unique charm but Shinsuke just doesn't grow meaningfully; his character "development" just rubs me the wrong way

and Senya's pacifism to the detriment of his companions is so hopelessly dumb and selfish
