Well, at least we know some truths to the scientific research going on from behind the scenes.

Touko's confidence is showing again this season/episode. I feel like it's part of her inner character development that's becoming more noticable. Unfortunately, there were still plenty of moments for despair this episode too.

Takimi's actually smarter than he seems.

Koushi was informed that the purpose of Takimi's research is to prove that people can live without relying on the flames of Enma. Before him, Yururuho, a flickering flame, appears. Takimi presents Yururuho with a choice: to return to the Thousand-Year Comet or to choose Kira over the dependency and take the seat of the princess's god. Hibari also appears there, conflicting with Takimi. Kira regains consciousness and earnestly pleads with the divine beings not to involve Koushi and Hinako.

Meanwhile, Touko discovers Haiju's scythe, which had been left behind near Kunugi.

What was up with that butler?
This was kinda epic actually. As I understand, the gods are fighting between each other, but Yuoshichi wants to destroy all of them?

Bad things happened in this episode, but at least Touko got the scythe back.

If Mizore died there, wouldn't be surprise. While everyone was babbling about their motives and allegiances. Mizore was steadily bleeding, and no one cared.

Did I miss something? Where did those two come from? And his logic makes no sense, not because he wants to kill his daughter (he is crazy), but because there's another god right there. The episode was very good before that.

I believe that pretty much the entire main cast is convening on the footsteps of the palace with Akira, Touko, and Kun nearby. Also, it looks like Kira's father is killing all of the gods and has his sights set on her but as another poster said, there's a god, Hibari, right there. Maybe he's trying to fake him out and lunge at him at the last second, we'll see.

I was not digging this season much but this episode was really good. I'm hopeful that the last few episodes will keep up the momentum and properly conclude the story.
As Long as the Sun, the moon, and the Earth exist, everything will be alright.

This episode was a bloodbath with Takimi's murder, Mizone bleeding out, Roroku being injected, and Goddess Tayurahime killed by Yuoshichi. Now, he seeks to murder the Flickering Flame, disregarding that it resides in his daughter's body.

I feel sorry for Kira and the Flickering Flame, both enduring the consequences of the chaotic game of the gods. Survivors in the devastated capital grapple with the burdens of a world reshaped by chaos. Kira becomes an involuntary vessel for a returning goddess, while the Flickering Flame is manipulated by divine clans, illustrating humanity's helplessness in the whimsical playground of the gods.

In the end, Koushi may have left the Okibi house for reasons, but everyone affiliated to it has come as his nightmare, like with Takimi requesting Hinako, his test subject, in the Divine Palace.

The Okibis' family physician is in fact, a god as well, experimenting on saving humans without fiendfire, and Roroku's attendant Mizore comes defending him, though struck by his injection. Along with the first sighting of Kira since her disappearance with the Earth Clan, now integrated as the Flickering Flame. As Akira, Touko and Kun sees Kunugi's corpse with Kiri hanging by his threads, they're near the Divine Palace. For now, Kira is a vessel to which the Millennial Comet is still a way to save her back to humanity but putting that in order requires the Earth Clan to reverse that process. Even with Hibari's commands, Kira still has her consciousness to allow Koushi and Hinako's sparing, but Hinako got out of control, and forces Takimi to act, which brings Roroku into the picture. Even then, Takimi has been part of the Water Clan himself, and gets his experiment across to Roroku, but has no effect on him.

With Roroku pleading to the Lady Goddess Tayurahime and doing Akira's job, it had to be the Okibis' head Yuoushichi who planned this from the very beginning, to kill the gods and eventually the Flickering Flame itself to end the divine clans' rule.

What a bloodbath.
