Lmao at Range running away from the enders only to run into the entire army. Dude was talking all that shit during that coliseum tournament episode and ends up being afraid of real combat. Michael didn’t even remember who dude was 😂 At least it galvanised the rest of the drifters to head into battle seeing a “brave drifter” fighting alone.

Ciel begging kanata not to go was really cute, but I’m ngl I would’ve preferred her to straight up defy orders rather than her orders being changed to just observing Kanata. It would’ve held way more weight and would’ve paid off all the groundwork that’s been laid in her episodes. I mean, a few weeks ago it was strongly implied that she had started falling for him and didn’t want to kill him… Dying to know more about her employers and what they’re after.

Glad Tokio back in the fight, but didn’t think he’d recover that soon! Considering the size of the ender army, they’ll need all the help they can get. Dope seeing everyone we’ve met so far come together to defend the town. Really feels like a proper season finale fight.

Speaking of the fight, CGI was really good today. Lot of good action scenes and a banger OST to compliment it. This show blends 2D and 3D together better than most of the bigger titles and deserves praise.

Digging the redesign to daisyogre. The upgrade they found in boneyard went to good use after all. The “alter” attached to it kind of gave off Fate vibes.

Last episode next week, but I swear when this first got announced it had 24 episodes. So I’m assuming it’ll be split cour. The story still has a lot of stuff we haven’t even began to get answered. Ciel’s employers, the “key” and more need to be explained so hopefully we get that announcement next week

Damn, Kanata was kinda badass this episode.

Drifters from nearby Nests rush to Rock Town's aid as they prepare to face off against the Silver Storm. Meanwhile, the mysterious group who are after Noir take advantage of the chaos and order Ciel to eliminate Kanata. As the battle drags on, the Drifters start to lose all hope of survival. Including Ellie, who's on the verge of exhaustion, but that's when her shining knight, Kanata arrives on the scene. We learn that Kurokamen changed Ciel's plan into continuing to look into Kanata, as he peaks his interest.

Ngl, the CG actually looked pretty impressive this episode for the carriers. Something this show always never sees to disspont is the OSTs, and this episode has a lot of good ones. Although this is looking like a generic conclusion next episode, I'm still awaiting to see what the ending will have in store. Also, I swear there was supposed to be 24 episodes but whatever, maybe a split-cour? Who knows.

It's up to the Drifters to finish off the final core to the Silver Storm. But this one looks tougher than the other two. How will they take it down?

Yes and no, no one knows clearly. Some sites reported 24 episodes, and then reported 12. So we have to wait for an official announcement to understand if there will be 2 consecutive or separate Cours.

That is if another 12 episodes actually exist, but considering how the plot is going so far, there are still several question marks, so I refuse to believe that another Cour doesn't exist.

A recent interview with Ciel’s va spoiled it’s gonna be a 2 cour series by starting with “As they first half is coming to an end…”. It’s not official announcement or anything but chances of us getting another 12 is ver high, likely in January.

It's definitely not consecutive cours.

TV Tokyo lists episode 12 as the final.
AT-X has a different show in its timeslot from the 3rd onwards (20:30).
Dai Hatano who is the author of SYNDUALITY ELLIE has commented that his book is being released with the final episode next week.

@StateofOhayo We do know from the last episode that the enders were created by weather control nanomachines going haywire. That explains their connection with rain and the name "Silver Storn".

The Parasite Enders horde of Silver Storm is in full swing, and so are the available Drifters and their Maguses in full combat order to assist anyone and everyone. That leaves Kanata having to adjust his Coffin more, only to the chagrin of Noir. Range sure got the bad raw end of the deal when one of the Enders nudged his Coffin from behind, and the battle starts. Ciel, fearing for the worst on Kanata, she can't quite stop him from joining the good fight, and adjusts to eliminating him instead then and there as a drastic measure.

The Silver Storm attracts more than just the Parasitism Enders, and Kanata and Noir's DaisyOgre (now Altered) comes in for the assistance, matching Noir's Type Zero powers for massive firepower. But Ciel, being under orders from Black Mask, is given the command to continue observing him instead, that might be useful to them in the future. For now, racing to the Twin Towers to destroy the Silver Storm's core together with Michael, and it looks as if the collaboration is working well. And just when Kanata was about to give up, Tokio came for the save, and the tag-team of close friends close in on the core.

But defeating one is not enough, it instead is a portal to an even bigger core.

The way I see it, not even a 2nd cour of this would save the show from its mediocre writing.

Listen this show is fine and all but as far as I'm concerned the only characters that exist are noir and black mask, everyone else is fodder. I kinda wish they focused more on being funny and silly and ridiculous kinda like kill la kill (lewdness optional) but this is fine too.

So this is a 2 phase boss with 2 health bar at the start before the last form of boss with a new hp shows up.

What in souls fuckery is this? Well let's see what happens next. I kinda dig the insymmetrical look the newly modded DaisyOgre Alter have man. It looks cool.

I wonder if Ciel would really hit Kanata with the shock if her order didn't change. The fight was almost over but another core appeared. Looks like they'll finish things in this cour's finale.

Pretty decent ep.

I do agree with others the CGI looks good in this episode. I think key to bettter CGI in an anime is dark and atmospheric lighting conditions.

What the fuck is up with Ciel. Is it she is incapable of defying orders she doesn't want to do or is it her personality that makes her not defy orders?

@traed CGI can look good if if it blends with backgrounds and is animated in a somewhat natural for anime fashion. Here most of the fight looked like a mobile game trailer (which TBH this anime is) with all the mechs moving like they have no weight at all. This kind of dancing moves I have seen mostly in adverts for mobile games when you have characters/robots do "cool" poses when presented.
Dorohedoro had nice CGI where characters moved as expected and everything blended nicely. Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid on the other hand while having nice 3d models had horrible animation - like watching cheap game cutscenes from around 2000-2005 or some display pieces in old clockwork automata moving perfectly on preplanned path. Yeah, movement was smooth, but it was so unnatural, doll-like, as if characters were moving on tracks.

Yeah, that Ciel bit was disappointing. I was expecting the usual struggle with orders, some inner fight over what is right with some tearful music and emotional breakdown or at least negotiating with masked guy to change his mind. Instead we have "orders are orders" and then that guy just decides on a whim "nah, now I don't want to kill him, let's help him instead". WTF?

Damn. Tokio recovered from such a state through his own willpower, just to save Kanata's ass at the perfect time yet again. This is one guy you definitely want to have on your side.

Ciel seems the fickle type, or at least very impulsive. She forgot about her assassination orders for a few episodes when she was sure Kanata was on good terms with her, but the moment she felt like she was rejected or dismissed, she was prepared to go through with the mission again. No doubt there was still some level of internal conflict involved, but it's a risky trait to give what is supposed to be protagonistic character, as I've seen from Shinobi no Ittoki already.
