Nah…it’s good and I love it but I don’t think it’s the best or the one which deserves it the most of all that are airing rn. If not jjk or jobless reincarnated then for me it would be my happy marriage.

subjective but for me this is already better than mushoku and my happy marriage. And for jjk I have to wait till shibuya arc is animated

agreed for me anime of the season is mushoku tensei or my happy marriage but still its atleast top 4

Yes it's really good, definitely one of the most underrated shows this year. But I think there are also plenty other good shows this season like jjk s2 , zom100 and more. Though for me the best this season is bsd season 5.

Absolutely, Tsugaru is my fav character this season too. MT is one of my favorite series but I've been looking forward to this more every week.

Second best at best, bungou stray dogs is the best one easy, still a great anime, probs the best new anime in this and the last season, really wish it gets a second season (if there is enough of the source material for it that is)

If it weren’t for the bigwig sequel seasons to Mushoku Tensei, Bleach and JJK, I’d say this would have a good chance. I personally also think this should be anime of the season. Unfortunately, it’s not so popular.

It’s a solid third.

Unfortunately, it just so happened to be launched in the same season as Jujutsu Kaisen and (mainly) Mushoku Tensei.

Which are kind of objectively better shows.

Not even close. For it to be anime of the season Zom 100 would need to start sucking (which is possible given its production issues), but so would JJK 2. It’s of the best directed TV anime I’ve ever seen, and has killer production all around. Judging by what manga fans are saying, the next arc it adapts will be mind blowing. I can’t see the production falling apart either.

I’m not caught up with Mushoku Tensei 2 so I can’t say if it’s better, but the first season was one of the best anime of the current decade, so it very well may be.

There are a lot of anime that make calling Undead Girl Murder Farce anime of the season seem premature, basically.

It’s definitely an underrated show, the fact that they casually mixed in some folklore or popular legends in their era ( still having mixed opinion on their interpretation of sherlock) makes you ponder the heightbthis show will reach, with a couple of episodes still to go it has a good chance to at least be one of the most underrated show of 2023

I'm not caught up with Undead Girl Murder Farce, so I can't say which is better super confidently, but Zom 100 has a ton of depth people seem to be missing. Its anti capitalist themes go far beyond the basic "black companies are bad" messaging in episode 1, and its positions on freedom and how best to live are inspiring as hell. The production is at least on par, though there's a strong possibility it will fall apart.

They're at least in the same ballpark, it's early to definitively call one better than the other. Based on what I've seen, I prefer Zom 100.

As far as non-sequels go, for sure. The only other show I would have in contention would be My Happy Marriage but right now I think this is a little better.

yeah, this surpasses most anime this season, incredible storyboards and execution and definitely the best in terms of writing, wish it was strong in terms of animation too

Nah, I'm watching 15 seasonals this season, and excluding four which are second seasons of older series as I don't usually judge them together with the completely new ones (so, excluding Shiguang Dailiren season 2, Mushoku Tensei season 2, Sugar Apple Fairy Tale season 2, and Mononogatari season 2) and one series which is continuing from the spring season when it started (Tousouchuu: Great Mission), out of the remaining 10 brand new ones this is probably around the top of my bottom half of that.

I don't rate any series until I've seen it in full and since none of the shows are yet over this is obviously still very tentative, but currently I'd rank new series like:

1.) AI no Idenshi
2.) Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon
3.) Zom 100
4.) Helck
5.) Dark Gathering
6.) Undead Girl Murder Farce
7.) Reign of the Seven Spellblades
8.) Ryza no Atelier
9.) Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu
10.) Shiro Seijo to Kuro Bokushi

As I said, my list and rankings definitely aren't finalized since no series is over, but I don't really envision any one series moving more than up or down one to two slots at most, so either way this will end up somewhere around the middle.
