| 1. Because they're being forced to? Aside from the fact that as far as they know, the entire continent is being run over by the Legion. Why the hell would they go venture out of their own free will? There's nowhere to run. 2. It's pretty obvious that someone in some way needs to keep track of the processors in the Republic. Not exactly a big brain logic. 3. They have limited supplies when they go into battle and it has been referenced several times. They get deliveries from the Republic at base camp. 4. The 'evolution' bs is surface level propaganda that even a 5 year old could comprehend. There are 85 other districts and the processors aren't heartless monsters who would kill civilians. 5. Highlighting the racial divide and accepting the fact that nothing can be done about it, as idealistic as you may be. That's the theme for Part 1, atleast. 6. I already addressed that's simple propaganda that the Republic's government is churning out. All they're good for is living their lives out in luxury. No special abilities. 7. Normal devices do not work. Para-Raid is superior to other communication devices which are intercepted and rendered useless by the Legion. It directly links to the receiver's nervous system. This was also mentioned. You're either watching the show with your eyes closed, or simply lack the ability to comprehend what's on your screen. |

Gundam is a war story on the horrors of war (and a Gunpla advertisement for Bandai). There are no Minovsky particles, Newtypes and things like that. Well, the male protagonist has some Newtype abilities (like sensing the legion). My personal advice is do not compare it to Gundam. This is more similar to Macross. Well, Macross has better plot, characters and mecha designs than 86. But 86 is still entertaining. |
| 86 is a psychological drama and a parable about racism. It's really not plot focused, and if you pay attention to the plot a great deal, you'd easily be able pick apart the numerous assumptions it requires to work that are unlikely and unexplained. For example, why they fight is an issue. Despite the fans explaining it away, these guys clearly are capable of leaving, and realistically, the entire army would be plagued by low morale and defections, just like there were defections in any major war of similar circumstance, from WW2 to the one in Ukraine. If you focus on the psychological aspect and somewhat the moralistic aspect, then 86 can be decent. Look at the first season as a sort of Promised Neverland. In Promised Neverland, the characters know they are going to be harvested, yet they must still live out the rest of their days. The first season of 86 (until the cop out ending) would be like a more realistic Promised Neverland, if you just focus on the characters on a small scale and ignore the macro background, the war at whole, which admittedly isn't very well developed. It's not a "war" anime. It's not about the war, or at least that aspect of it is bunk. It's not really about mecha. It's not about war strategy or politics, except from the perspective of people on the bottom of the totem pole being mistreated. What it's really about is just some people contending with their mortality. |

If you'd asked me before part 2 came out then I would of tried to give it a good answer - Those first 11 EPs deserve it. {No specific spoilers ahead but vague allusions to thing, don't read if that bothers you👍👍} But second half showed the show has no real intention of being unique - It's a damn well produced mecha romp, absolutely brillaint for like EPs 7-11 and then just a regular military flick. Plot armour, retcons, incalculable logistics, characters magiced back from their implied deaths and the fact we focus on the 86 rather then Lena in S2, even tho her story seems like, infinitely more interesting then just 'Shoot more Possessed robots'. ehhhhhhhhhh, it's fine-- No it's objectively good - It's well made, like really well made and it isn't downright bad writing or anything, I mean UC Gundam has nonesensical world-building and logistics most of the time, these shows are seldom about that😅 - It's 11 EPs that seem like they're gonna say something brilliant and then transition into a fairly normal mecha plot line with some decently touched on themes of PTSD and military fanatasim - It be a grand old time😂. My addvice is go watch Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans - Bits of it are weak but it has the balls to say the things 86 doesn't and the ending of S2 is the peak of mecha these last 10, barren years😂😭😉😉. |

Just finish the anime, if you're still confused by then drop the show and don't watch part 2. |

The answer to virtually all of these is "the author was too incompetent or lazy to think about that, and instead hopes the audience doesn't either." |

Literally, all of these are answered....although some a bit after episode 6... anybody saying otherwise are straight up being dishonest. But I guess here we go: 1. They have no choice, but to fight if they want to survive as long as they want. They cannot not fight since the Legion just walks through them and kill all of them. So not fighting is not an option. Fleeing is not an option either since they rely on San Magnolia with the supplies. Ammunition/Food/Battery is coming from them so iif they leave they will be out in no time and die. Surrendering is also out of option since the Legion does not take POW-s. 2 Handlers can be exceptionally useful if you look at what Lena can do in that position. So I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about here. But they can also track and listen to 86-ers via the Para-raid. 3. They got it from San Magnolia in a monthly basis. They store them in containers... Also the juggernauts work with batteries...not fuel. 4. Wtf. They are not an evolved race. They are just different types of people. Like Asian, Hispanic etc. 86-ers cannot do that since the walls are covered with a minefield and mortals, also if they get into a civil war the Legion would win and kill all of them, so that's not an option. 5, What's the purpose of anything? Lol. What's the purpose of Konosuba? It's to show how a society with a racist ideology can destroy other people and even some of those who live inside this society. 6. They were smart enough to survive for 9 years and subjugate the entirety of the minorities in their country. So there is that. 7. Those technologies are jammed by the Eintensfliege. The only form of communication that can through is the Para-raid, but this has also been said over and over in the show. Hey UTMAN keeping busy with the facts :-) Funny to see these I can't be bothered to pay attention so I'll just ask dumb questions threads still popping up |
