Hmm, it seems the show is going for a more complex case than usual but still retains its usual police drama. There was also sketches but isn't played for comedy this time.

Also, I'm not sure if it was intentional but the reactions from Kawai were particularly odd. These guys really need a break but I guess that's not happening at time soon.

Honestly look at the amount of staff that's needed to get this scumbag it really makes me appreciate the work law enforcement put into their work to keep us safe.
So for tho this is pretty good and i hope they manage to get the guy.

Tensions amongst the group also seems pretty high.
Tho the scene where Kawaii thought so had a easy part which turned out to be really boring was pretty funny.

That doll is hella sus. I guess. That "BRA" scene really got me. I was so tensed before that scene.
I guess we need to wait another week to get Criminal A.

Continuing on with last episode's sex crime, it's easy to creep over a re-enactment doll, which can be scary if you think about it. But this is essential to know the background of the crime from the witness's standpoint, and that in turn, scares Maki out when she first saw the girl being sexually assaulted and disheveled after the act.

And to Minamoto, the witness's information simply wasn't enough to rush the job, not giving a care about the women in the force while Fuji shoots him back with rational realism. For Yamada, the re-enactment doll is a reminder for him to take things with a sensitive mindset, and that sets the reconciliation between Minamoto and Fuji.

To share the burden, the special investigation is converged since this is becoming quite the case of sexual assault to the point of assumption of being done by multiple people. And Yasuda Daijiro is one confirmed culprit that the police needs to chase down, while the First Investigation Division of elite rank-and-file detectives are quite the stubborn employees.

Hmm, it's true that unmarried women shouldn't say "ass", it makes them sound more like delinquents. I got a laugh on that one. Maki, even under vicarious trauma, she is determined to wipe hers.

It's easy sitting in front of live security camera footage and stare for hours on end just to catch a recurring culprit, and even going outside as scouting, it's tough work for all. Even attending investigation meetings now and then, it's hard to give leads, and only determination and responsibility will bring them far.

Let's hope that this case can be closed with a relief of heart with the finale next week.

In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous. In Machiyama Police Station, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories. "Dun-Dun"

Was a good episode.

While the author said she doesn't self-insert herself into her manga but I'm gonna guess she's Miwa. Good at drawing, working in office (like the author) and not on the scene like other polices, and this case is probably her breaking point in quitting the job.

I'm glad they dedicate 3 episodes on sexual assault case. I want to live in a country where the whole police force are this dedicate in solving a case. Police in my country are too busy catching protestors and lèse-majesté breakers.

I had no idea the author used to be a cop, now it makes sense why the show feels so personal and realistic on the serious bits.

Great episode! Kawai and Yamada having to stare at the screen for 12 hours straight was funny xD.

Looking forward to the next episode!

The tension with this case has really stepped up a gear where the pressure is starting to show on everyone. I feel bad for Makitaka and her struggles with the case and while Fuji was right to defend her during her argument with Minamoto, his criticisms with how the case has been handled is still valid.

At least Yamada was there to break up Fuji and Minamoto's endless quarrel about who's to blame and with that, the team got back to doing their case to try and successfully link the culprit to the case.

This episode, despite being serious, still had time to slip in a funny moment with Kawai acting confident that she had the easy job in watching the security camera footage with Yamada, but she got a dose of reality in how frustrating that role could be. Her and Yamada's expressions made me laugh. XD

Thankfully, Makitaka finally got a breakthrough with her attempt to interview the victim again and with that, Fuji and Minamoto can tail the culprit and the van he's in. I hope they can catch this group and successfully arrest them in the final episode. =)

This sexual assault case has become more complicated now as it turns out this act was done by multiple people.I felt Minamoto was out of line when he started arguing with Fuji when Maki wasn't able to get a full statement. It's not easy for a policewoman to question a female victim of a sex crime because they feel embarrassed to talk about it and it makes them feel uncomfortable. Also a victim is less likely to give the police everything because they don't want to relive the emotional trauma of being violated. Sex crimes have to be treated with delicacy and its not something that you can rush through as it takes time for the victim to open up about what has happened to them to law enforcement.

Nice to see what I thought was a 2-parter case become a 3-parter! The investigation continues, after reenacting the crime they gather a bunch of detectives to help solve the case, I love how they made fun of Kawai’s drawing but then immediately thought it was genius lol. And once again Kawai gets a rough time, thinking she was better off not dealing with the detectives, she and Yamada are stuck staring at security camera footage for an incredibly long time, it was funny seeing them slowly lose their minds lol, of course i feel bad too tho. That Fuji and Minamoto scene was pretty heated too, you could see the points from both sides, but thankfully Yamada is there to be the punching bag.

Another thing I really enjoyed this episode was Makitaka getting some focus, I was hoping for more of her for most of the season and we’re finally getting it! At first she was unable to get a statement from the victim, and was told to stop for her own good, but she eventually was able to get one thankfully, I also loved her comment “I’ll wipe my own ass, thanks”, such vulgar but hilarious language lol.

One episode left, I’m thankful we’re getting 13 instead of 12 episodes but knowing it ends very soon hurts, it’s been such a good show and also incredibly slept on, it really surprised me how much I’ve enjoyed it, without a doubt a favorite of mine this season.

I think the chances of Hakozume getting a second season are pretty high.
Pretty much all Morning series that received anime adaptations in the last decade didn't just stop at one season.

Space Brothers? Almost two years of uninterrupted airing.
Hozuki's Coolheadedness? Two seasons and multiple OVAs.
Gurazeni? Two seasons.

Oh fuck, I got bamboozled again, it's actually a 3-parter. Man, I am enjoying this case a lot, it's so tense and uncomfortable at times, but really engaging. Really looking forward to see how this case ends in the last episode.

I liked it because it was an episode in which the last sexual harassment incident continued, but it ended up being a police operation, but finally the certainty of the first suspect came out

Yeah, I've wanted her to get more screen time all season, as well; here's hoping for another season with a larger role for her.

i was seriously so invested in this ep. legit screamed when the ed played lmao

the amount of people doing this case, the time its taking and the effort they're giving holy shit. does it rly take that much for a sexual assault case? im not saying that it Shouldn't ofc, i just thought that cases like these are so under acknowledged so they wouldn't be as serious with it. or maybe its just my country lol. it was rly nice to see them working so hard for this tho

the comedy bits never miss, i lovee minamoto and fuji's interactions. that scene in the car takes the medal. "i would be in your arms rn if i were a girl" BRO ME TOO! except i Am a girl.

but broo why're they making highschool guy so sus lol. i dont think its him tho, victim would've def said that it was him if not

Hoo boy not even two episode enough to end the mysterious case that happened after Kawai unlock her ability as a genius sketcher! Thou, whats the meaning with that reenactment part? Something off with that boy illustration. Mismatched. Maybe he's using the case to deceive the investigator by acting as a kind person and used another way, black minivan to be precise, to launch the action. However in the other side, its not that easy to judge it just like that. One more episode to reveal all the truth, and, unfortunately, this greatness of the series ended. Time sure flies fast....

Makitaka has to get the exact details from the victim even though there's a sense of shame that's preventing more details from coming up.
Yamada feels bad about always playing the perpetrator's part in the re-enactmenet scenario.

Yamada and Kawai get subject to some gruelling work watching security footage.
