Only one word: Eighteen.

So, wouldn't be so much easier to just say "Inuyasha if you wanna crush Kirinmaru, fine. But let that woman alive or Rin will DIE, got it?"?

That, thought, confirm that with Tessaiga's absurd power level, Inuyasha would be able to deal with Kirinmaru rather easily, so I guess that was the only way they found to make this plot work without being forced to create another super overpowered villain (and this time with less time to make him grow overpowered). And honestly I don't bother it that much, though they should just make a reason to Inuyasha hate Zero so much that would force Sesshoumaru do that in order to avoid any risks of enraged youger brother being the reason of his girl's death.

Aside from that, I liked how the episode was handled and we have some explanations. Loving this season so far. Just was hoping that gathering the rainbow pearls would be some side quest they would have to do in the future but well, it's fine I guess.

Hoping we will see Setsuna being able to use her true powers. Right now she is just so weak.

We've just been handed so many long awaited answers. The beginning of this episode basically laid it all out on a silver platter. Rin had to go into the tree to stop that curse that Zero put on her, Setsuna couldn't sleep or dream due to Jaken putting the dream butterfly on her so the curse would stop progressing on Rin, why Jaken took Setsuna to the hanyo village. A lot of things were illuminated upon with this episode. We were given much backstory about how a lot of the current events are now. Meanwhile the three girls still trying to find this root that can make Towa a new badass weapon. I laughed a lot at Moroha buttering up and getting information like that, reverse psychology works wonders, just inflate their ego and the information comes spilling out. Now the girls know where to go, somewhere on this mountain, but things won't be easy with this barrier.

Sesshoumaru continues to get wonderful development as he’s proven to be a wonderful husband as well. I do love that he probably thought Inuyasha couldn’t be trusted to somehow screw up and kill Zero as well as Kirinmaru if he kept him around. The season continues to be plot heavy, thank goodness.

Also Rin was Eighteen. Suck it, haters.

The quest to find the Kyuyoken root from Bokusen-Oh continues, and so does the Dream Butterfly in duly report.

Some interesting backstory between the Sesshomaru and Rin, and Lady Zero (on behalf of Kirinmaru) get involved in the process. As told, the silver-scale curse is akin to the red thread of fate, but to conceal the fate of both Setsuna and Towa, he has did what he could that prior episodes have foretold this story before. So at least all the backstory from before wasn't all for naught and provides answers to the context.

Puny demons having the Rainbow Pearls, that's always Riku's goal of getting all 7 for Lady Zero's demonic transformation . He's playing the scapegoat character to help the girls alright for now, but at the end of the day, he's a tool for both Kirinmaru and Zero as part of the former's body.

Hah, Bokusen-Oh may be devious, but of course he just can't give the full answer away to let the half-demon princesses figure out for themselves. Interestingly, the Rainbow Pearls themselves also carry their own secrets, and Sesshomaru has hidden the real ones from Zero, which is to be expected, making her concession an incomplete one.

Next episode is sure to be action heavy...

Zero still salty about izayoi all these years later lmao you love to see it fr. Love all these sessrin moments we got today too. Poor Riku. Not wanted by either side. I think he’ll become an X factor in defeating Kirinmaru. Great way to start my bday with a solid yashahime episode.

I don't get why Zero hates half-demons and humans so much.

Anyway, I'm happy we got to see Rin.

So glad we got backstory we did. But I would be livid if I were Kagome and Inuyasha at Sesshoumaru for making them miss so much of their daughter's life. So much so I'd want to kill him.

Quite a lot of new information this episode. We finally learn why Rin had to be sealed and why Sesshomaru sealed Inuyasha and Kagome, though I feel like that situation could have been avoided if he had just talked to them, then again it is Sesshomaru here.

Very VERY nice episode from start to finish.
So I’m assuming Rin is suspended in time as an 18 year old?
We finally know why Setsuna lost her memories and how a lot of these dots connect.
Riku is turning out to be a really interesting character I wonder where he ends up and what direction he is gonna go in this series?
Excited for the next episode!

Sesshoumaru is an amazing dad but an awful brother. lol

It's nice that most of the dots are connected now at least. Knowing Inuyasha and Kagome they will easily forgive this once they hear the reasons, most likely. At least they weren't sealed away just for the lulz.

Also gotta admit the amount of trolling Sesshoumaru did with the pearls to Zero is amazing. She really chose the wrong person to mess with. Her reasons for starting all this mess are so childish too with being butthurt about getting friendzoned. I hope she gets what's coming.

Riku is getting very nice development as well but I guess with this twist that he is Kirinmaru's horn he will probably try to get freed.

Setsuna can probably save Rin since her naginata can sever basically anything although that wouldn't solve the curse but at least her life wouldn't be linked to Zero.

Moroha was so cute in this episode. Poor Riku, things are getting complicated because Riku is still a part of kirinmaru. Even if the yashahime succeed in slaying kirinmaru they will probably have to deal with riku if he doesnt find a way to severe the link. Unlike the first season things are looking pretty good even after 3 eps, i hope they continue the streak. Sesshoumaru is getting more screentime and we even got to see a bit of sesshrin.

Nice episode, I love how Sesshoumaru messed with Zero's head using her pearls lol

So far, this season is shaping up to be a major improvement over the first one. I hope they don't disappoint us.

Also, in this episode, did anyone noticed Rin was wearing the exact purple kimono as the one she wore from the finale of Inuyasha: the final act (when she was walking around with Kaede in the village)?

You basically just summed everything up about this episode perfectly. And yes, I agree that these answers that we got were definitely long-awaited. It all makes sense now in regards to why Rin was floating around in that tree, why Setsuna can’t have dreams, etc. yes, with the rest of the episode we were able to move forward as well.

And I also agree that it was hilarious to see Mohora buttering up that tree spirit like that. And it was a great way to get information. And on a sidenote, 2000 years? That’s a big reason why I love Japan, because that doesn’t just go back hundreds of years, but thousands. And even some things that are in active use today nonetheless.

Now that they finally identified the place that they need to go, all they need to do is get through that pesky barrier. Can’t wait to see the fourth episode!

Okay hi I just want to say a few things here:

Rin was 18 when she HAD the twins. Meaning...

Sesshomaru let his daughter get thrown into another dimension and then his best servant ruined the second twin's life by literally stealing her sleep for a perpetually 18 year old rin

When Rin is released she will be 18 and her daughters will be 15.

Moroha had her childhood destroyed because Sesshomaru couldn't just say to Inuyasha "dont kill that white haired lady plz" and instead kidnapped 2 parents and left a child in the world sharing his blood without a single offering of help.

I hate this show. Ok thats all

Exposition : The Episode.

I mean it's not that I didn't appreciate the information and everything makes so much more sense now but did they have to shoe-horn it in like this ? Also with the very pointed mention of Rin being 18, it feels like the writers just went and did everything to fix everything fans were complaining about. Not that its a bad thing, just wish it was done less clumsily.

Also loved Moroha weaseling the information out of Bokusen-oh. Best girl by a country mile. Also loving Riku in this, although its hard to see if there's anything more to him than just being a Zero simp (I mean she is hot, soooo its understandable but still).

Kinda weird to go an entire season with barely any answers at all about that complicated situation, and then suddenly everything is spelled out in one half of an episode. At least the reason for why Sesshomaru gave his daughters those pearls was given an extra layer: to screw with Zero, lol.

Interesting episode. It explained a lot of mysteries from S1. Anyway, I was expecting Riku to be the ultimate boss or something, but he's just a part of Kirinmaru. Oh well. Also, sucks for him he can't simp on Zero anymore.

I've been curious about that cute girl from the OP.

Got rid of the opening narration? Good.

More backstory. Starting to get the picture.

Rin is so pure. She doesn't deserve any of this. :( Hope she reunites with her beloved daughters soon.

Moroha with that old tree was hilarious.

Riku was a part of Kirinmaru? I wonder if it works like Naraku's incarnations. At this point, I'm not sure which side he's on. The convoluted backstory doesn't help.

So Sesshomaru sealed Inuyasha and Kagome, so they wouldn't kill Zero? Makes, once again, no sense, he could've just told them to spare her for Rin's sake. And still get rid of Kirinmaru, the bad writing continues.

Good episode. Pretty much all the dots of past events have been connected at this point.

I do think Sesshomaru could have told Inuyasha and Kagome what was going on, but whatever. Maybe there was another reason they would get in the way that hasn't been revealed yet.
