This episode was pretty good. It looked iffy at times but I'm enjoying the animation for the most part.

I am so far liking the current day storyline more than his backstory plot line.

It was pretty funny that the fight at the end of the episode they specifically stopped an attack saying to not kill him, but then they go shooting lasers at him. Make up your minds! Just because he is a main character doesn't mean that he won't die...oh wait, it does. Guess they don't need to worry.

Maybe if the priest wanted people to trust him, he shouldn't look and talk like the most evil and untrustworthy person in the show.

The fight scenes continue to impress although the CG still doesn't look great. Unlike anime-prime I am going to have to say that I prefer the backstory to the plot with the priest's group, although admittedly that is mostly because I am more interested in the historical aspects of the show compared to the science fiction/supernatural elements. That's not to say the current day storyline is uninteresting though, as I am definitely intrigued as to who the girl is and why the villains want her so bad. Guess I will find out soon enough...

I agree that the priest's group is a little stupid, but I was just referring to the mystery of the girl and how Yasuke is involved with it. The past timeline is fine, but it is also very brief and it feels more of a tacky add on to "add depth", which it does, but it hasn't yet done enough to make me appreciate it. Perhaps further development of the past in future episodes will change my mind about it.

Was pretty good episode overall. Mostly just Yasuke history and the prejudice he faced. Nothing too damning tho.

Cultist Christain dude looking sketchy as hell lmao. Saki got some powers to defend. But will see how this plays.

The battle scenes were a pleasure to watch, as expected of an anime animated by MAPPA, but I'm not enjoying the story that much, largely thanks to the characters. To me, they're all (except Yasuke) pretty bland and don't have personalities.

They briefly explained how the mechs came into existence during Yasuke's backstory. Even though he was given the title of samurai he was not trusted among Nobunaga's other retainers. We still don't know if Ichika is dead or not, but she had the same amulet as Natsumaru had in the past. Could the two of them be related? It didn't take long for the priest to be the antagonist in this story.

The show is sloppy, but has been a fun watch so far. I hope the animation becomes a bit more consistent as it goes, because it's all over the place although it gets the job done. Some minor nit-picks I had include the decision to use a modern translation for that Bible verse they quoted. Using an older translation would've made more sense and been more period accurate.

Also, why would a tiny splash of sake on the advanced robot-man make him go haywire (and not even in a joint or somewhere more susceptible, just on the middle of his arm)? That was pretty dumb.

Christian priest and his group seem way too bland and the robot ruins the mood every time it shows up.

So far, Yasuke's past is way more interesting than his present.

So the Mecha are coming from Mongolia.
Ngl the backstory part was far more interesting to me.

That Fight Scene on the Snow was Amazing and so Brutal, I like it.

I also prefer the flashback parts opposed to the current timeline, which does make me curious what the deal is with the out-of-place magic and stuff as by the looks of it didn't occur in the past.

I can't believe a robot with something as advanced as a condensed beam of light isn't water-proof. Imagine if it rains during a war. Your whole robot army basically becomes useless.
Graduated High School in May of 2022. Summer vacation has finally arrived. I have once again regained the power of a new anime fan, being able to watch multiple anime episodes in a day. Time to binge-watch every single anime I can into the night until college arrives. SADGE. SUPER SADGE... College has begun as of Monday, August 30, 2022, so you won't be seeing me much around these parks. See you on weekends, I guess... School me is back. Sigh! I'll at least try for one anime a day with all this course load.

Yasuke during his samurai years was powerful as heck, but even after over 20 years later, with most of this time spent on anything but fighting, he is still fully capable to fight. Since things just can't be forgotten once they are rooted into one's heart. Despite his age, Yasuke is also durable as heck. He could keep up with his enemies for a while, no matter if he got struck by them or not.
