THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Headkeeper's been outwitted this time by the Luminosis-ridden human experimented monsters that the Diet has managed to release whilst getting the Imperial Army for a clean-up cover and blaming the latter. Thank God this isn't Gibiate though.

Leo's small division with Captain Herman, looks like they know their targets, whilst leaving Arnolt and Benjamin behind, leaving Irma and Innumael to fend for themselves.

Even a luminosis monster that separated them for awhile isn't enough for the coward to get cornered by Conrad. But for now, escape's the priority rather than arrest, and Innumael sure got the shock of his life when his sister was taken in as a "person of interest".

The underlying tone of this episode though...Coldfire (if what seemed to just be volcano's lava), Imperial Magicians of the Diet...and what exactly is the Cradle? Things at the Diet are deceptively nurturing into its own storyline with each new reveal.

The animation this episode is more atrocious than the last, especially the facial expressions...taking more liberties?

Now I'm really wondering what's the overarching story's all about, especially down the line when the main and hidden plot lines intercept.

IMO I get the feeling they gonna blow the Capital with this "Cradle" thingy. Emperor know this and ready to sacrifice everything except son and his queen

Yeah ... that did not come unexpected ... them trying to blame the monsters on Headkeeper. Emperor probably is not evil and the female diet member the big evil boss manipulating everyone.

With a 2nd "new" capital and some cradle ... interesting. Looking forward to that. Maybe cradle is something like an arc to them. And the old capital being destroyed by the coldfire.

Continuing the hectic situations at the capital, finally the important information already revealed. Mary, the Diet seemed to blame the chaos into HK's credit to the public. Its made her stands as a Diet higher than before, and maybe its time for her to launched her objections to controlled the Empire by herself out of the Emperor hands. The danger has been thrown to the Emperor, i saw some fishy look on those Mary, he might've been terminated. However, the truth still long to be revealed.

Meanwhile back to the cat-and-mouse pursue between Herman and Inumael. Before that, Arnolt was a beast there, survived from the monsters attack, healed fast after that without any negative effect, and then, could defend himself from Herman's blast. What a man! But poor Ben! Fortunately he was save so its fine! However, Inumael got into a difficult situations after getting cornerred by Herman's team. He got trapped in the city of labyrint called as an off area that far away from the capitol territory, where deep below it, there was a cause from all the disease that happened in the Empire: Coldfire.

The conspiracy might've been revealed soon, about the real identity of HK's traitor. Inumael might suggest someone close to him as a suspect. But was he right? Could he trust Conrad and cooperate to get out of those place? While in fact, his siter already became a custody. This might be a turn point of him to advanced into a better MC. Lets see the next episode to see the outcome!

I really like Inumael as a character. He did not wanted to be part of any of this, does not fit in the group and, but he has no other option than to stick around, especially since he has blood on his hands and every episode he is clearly in the verge of breaking down.
Now, he finds out that his sister was taken hostage by mylitery. I hope she stays safe.

I also hope Irma survived this.
She is the best character simply for being voiced by Loli Queen.

I've got a feeling that the commander has already planned a sadistic scenario with Inumael's sister as the target and that's why I can also presume that the soldier he sent away is going to bring her to the abandoned district...

I don't think any show this season or this year has gripped me as hard as this show.

There is something special about this show that does suspense, thriller and chasing scenes so fucking well. I spent half the episode screaming at Inumaru and Irma to fucking save themselves, that's the sign of a great show.

Hell, Arnolt and Ben surviving yet again, I guess you can call it plot armor but I love both of them so I don't really mind. It wasn't like a direct hit as well, and I guess all the soldiers were focusing on the car and the real prize, Inumaru - the most wanted man atm.

I literally screamed...."Fuck" when I saw Hermann in the hideout, the sense of impending doom throughout the episode was masterclass and I can't help but be overjoyed at how this episode has transpired.

Also the background art for the abandoned town was beautiful, someone needs to acknowledge that. GODDAMN IT WHY WON'T THIS SHOW BE POPULAR.

And more plot reveals but they keep it vague enough which I love, it's just this subtle worldbuilding that makes this anime my AOTS. Please spread the love everyone.

I thought the animation was really good, it's funky, simple and I like it. They are using their limited budget and time well.

Man this show is awesome. Another really great episode, I don't even notice the animation since the plot is so good.

I hope Irma made it out of there alive but, with Herman somewhere there I am very worried. There's definitely a traitor among them but, who could it be. I hope some of the soldiers like Leo and Conrad see how shit the diet or government something are.

That's a lot of coldfire, I feel like that's going to be an important location related to that big explosion we saw in the beginning of the series. It must be one of those furnaces or something they mentioned. Looking forward to the next episode.

Seriously, why would a research facility that was funded by the empire would release their science project like that and allow it to run amok and even kill the empire's own soldiers???

Exactly, what is this cold fire shit anyway????

Because they don't seem to care much about human losses now that the empire (or more specifically the capital) is about to go ka-boom or something like that.

About this episode... story was good, but it suddenly took a lot of dimension with the whole empire involucrated and we only have 5 episodes more. Kinda worrying. Animation had 2 or 3 shots that looked good, and Innumael's expression when he knew about his sister was fantastic, but this chapter had like around 10 scenes that looked awkward as fuck, so I only hope they can keep up with the production schedule later because now it's really making some scenes uncomfortable

I feel like they'll take a Fairy Gone type of route. The Diet is something like a cult who wants to create monsters to destroy this capital for their enjoyment.

What is this “new capital” they mentioned?

I think the monsters has some consciousness left if not then Elfrede wouldn't have come to save them.

Inumael might surrender himself to the Empire to save his sister so that means helmen will happily torture Inumael.

I kinda feel that the blonde dude is gonna turn against the army in like two episodes, and then Leo will too.

I'm not entirely getting what's the deal with the coldfire but I hope they will explain it soon

woah lot to take in

For starters, if the dice or whoever really wanted to let the monsters cause mayhem to blame HK on it, couldn't they have at least made them so that the military doesn't just easily get wiped out by them lol? Though I guess it could've just been an unexpected coincidence

And wtf was the military plan supposed to be anyway?? psycho-boss just goes full suicide bomber but doesn't even check to see if he actually got the 2 dudes at all? Did Leo reallllly expect to jump on top of the van and not in any way expect it to drive off?? Did anyone at all not expect them to drive off? Like they couldn't possibly have imagined that their stormtrooper level aiming, which makes Fairy Gone soldiers looks like marksmen; actually end up doing any damage?

But that chase scene was pretty enjoyable though ngl. Tbh I'm kinda digging Innumael and that gyaru like chick together. Innumael himself has kinda been growing to me lately. Much better than the other MC Leo at least

lol what are those new characters? Isn't it a bit late to introduce them?

I know it's a prequel to essentially market the game, but it really feel like we are getting a very tiny glance at this massive setting with a bunch of stuff going on.

Quite the cat-and-mouse chase between the headkeepers and the military guys and even the mutated monster joining in on the fun. Seems like the emperor is also behind this 'Cradle' stuff thats causing all this chaos, so the capital is basically doomed I guess.
