So, considering this show follows every single shonen troupe ever, Goku will do his install-saiyan mode between episode 11-12 and will win the tournament, while the weird dudes outside fight and the white haired one retreats.

Wth was happening on the super powers side.. that bum looking guy was shooting a bazooka and firing a machine gun, is that supposed to still be seen as fighting? All that great animation and presentation with bottomless budget and I was facepalming at the stupidity of the actual content.

This episode was unfortunate. It had all the aspects of being a brilliant episode. The fact that everything has been so rushed really makes the potential epicness of this episode just slightly comedic. Honestly, this felt like a grand finale to a 50 episode series, but the fact that it was just episode 10 and we know pretty much nothing about anything just made the entire outside battle more of a "what?" than a "Wow!".

The animation, the music, the atmosphere, they were all on point. But the way it was told in the narrative is just super baffling. "Who was this?" "What was that?" These aren't questions that one should be asking in an epic battle. It should be "Oh, this guy arrived. Awesome." "Wow, he used that technique. Smart!" In short, that outside battle could have been way better if it followed a more whole story.

The fight between Jin and Park was pretty epic though and the twist at the end makes me want to keep watching, even though I still have no clue what is going on.

I totally agree. All the rushed pacing throughout this whole show means that I haven't been given the chance to really care about anyone other than the three protagonists. I legitimately thought that Park Mujin was a bad guy until episode 8 or 9. I don't know what the whole deal was with that guy who bit the sword and his troupe drum beating sidekicks. I didn't realize that the guy who messed up Park's friend's leg was in league with Nox. So much of this episode, and the show in general, doesn't allow the audience the time to process what is happening onscreen before moving on to the next plot point.

Worst of all, though, was Jin overcoming those three weaknesses. Its like, one minute he's getting his ass kicked and then the next minute he's doing the ass kicking. It looked cool and all, but there was a serious lack of build-up. I'm also continually disappointed with how this show and its fights are becoming more magical and fantastical.

If I had to describe this episode in one phrase, it'd be "all spectacle, little emotional payoff."

Another messy, pointless episode.
Characters contradict their own actions, Mori just decides he wants to learn new techniques and copies other people's techniques just because he is trying to think. The entire interaction with Nox and the commissioners was stupid. You'd expect them to actually do something instead of "haha look at this sword please kill us we stand without doing anything".

"GoH is great" my ass. Its beyond me how a lackluster manhwa gets so much hype and following when its this bad.

Solid animation as usual, everything else is pure garbage.

Personally, I can see how this show would be ten times better if it were twice as long.

I'm quite new to anime but this is by far the worst directing I've seen in one.
And top 5 worst directing including cartoons and movies, we are talking about late Michael Bay action scene directing

Wow, this episode feels like a climax of something big but I didn't care about anything cuz the pacing was never good lol. Jin learned something in the middle of the fight and now he's winning -.-

Yep, when I saw this ep, I was like wtf and lament of how pity this anime will never lived up to its supposedly high potential.
I cannot bring myself to rate anime that I have completed below 5. Well, it just because I have use up my precious time to watch it. so, the worse you will get from me is 5 (changes may apply)

Gettin drunk with da bois and smashin god's sword with a sick beat

Downers:

Anime only here.
The fighting animation is gorgeous
as usual.
Other than that , what in the world was happening here ? Who is this dancing bum with his orchestra who whips out an arsenal to fight with some dark deity with giant sword ? Why does Ilpyo turn into a furry in the end?I still have zero idea who are Nox and why are we supposed to give a crap about them.the judges fighting was very random and I felt like I was hallucinating.
This episode looks like it was intended to be an epic conclusion to arc but due to the rushed pacing and the lack of information about like , literally everything , this looks more like a fever dream than anything coherent.

UNBELIEVABLE God of highschool keeps overwhelming us with more contents even after last episode.
This anime became way too dank.

Park Mujin and the leader of nox throwing hands (not physically tho.)
My god those scenes are way too good plus add the music from the band and the match between Ilpyo and Jin made it a perfect episode. The leader of Nox bestowing upon a sword that existed even before god and even summoning the owner of the sword itself then Mujin immediately deflecting it just for the sake of the tournament and also the band with a guy that continuously spams sacred treasures to the sword. Man how desperate are these guys for the KEY.

Ilpyo and Jin. Another fantastic sht happened to this episode. Ilpyo smoking Jin at the start but proceeds to teach Jin what are his weaknesses and made Jin even stronger. Ilpyo is just doing that to fulfill the promise he made with his granpa, this guy has really a pride. Jin thought that he won that match but little did we know Ilpyo awakened his charyeok a nine tailed fox yes, Kurama. And not to mention he is the freaking key that they were finding all this time.

I’m just gonna shut the fck up and watch the next episode.
JIN AWAKEN YOUR CHARYEOK!

so this is semi spoilers but is it fair to say we are 100% getting monkey king this season. This has been more rushed than TOG hopefully both shows slow down the pacing for their second seasons.

This is a climatic masterpiece... that this season didn't deserve. As has been expressed before, the story was too bare bones and rushed to support the weight of this episode. I spent most of it confused as to what the hell was happening. I'll go to my grave wishing this had been a 26 episode season.

The protagonist not being the key is nice though.

holy fk the hand to hand combat animation in this episode was NUTS.. Favorite episode in terms of animation so far.. GoH is overall pretty enjoyable. It's nothing crazy and most of the show gets carried by the production but there are also other things I like about it.

Wow. I really don't know what to think about this show anymore. It started off amazingly, then gave us some weird wedding episode, just to burn through the entire first tourney in no time. The battle between Mori and Daewi was outstanding and there really was some builtup to that point and afterwards concerning all the stuff that is going on in this world. Then we were introduced to Charyeok which sounds so damn cool and interesting, but most of the times it feels like bootleg JoJo Stands. The powers are ridiculous and make no sense most of the time. By episode 10 we have some interesting plotlines going, but so much story that feels damn weird. We also finally got some interesting characters to battle against and the stakes seem to rise up, while the last fight was just another glorious masterpiece concerning animation. At the same time the whole show still feels so rushed and so many parts of the world building completely makes me question the writers. Holy hell, I think I just have to turn my brain off for the last three episodes and enjoy the action.

Three straight good episodes. Bumping my rating back up to 7/10.

Still find this whole two-factions-fighting-over-god thing to be a bit off and confusing, but the show actually has some direction now, unlike before.

Some weird stuff going down this episode but damn the fights are incredible. Can't believe Jin took the "we are going to win" literally by copying the others techniques. No clue what the heck is going on with the big sword, but one of the six breaking it with his weird technique and own musicgroup looked pretty dope

Anyway we get sage mode Ilpyo lol

Very good episode, interesting the background of Jegal with Park
Tremendous selfish people from Nox, they attack those who use Charyeok because only they can use them
A Combat upon another Combat, both epic
Good Master Park, it seems that Jin learned from his mistakes and used the Sharingan to copy techniques... no, that's from another anime
Good twist, I wasn't expecting Park's Power Up and it seems like it's something very important, is it the 9-Tailed Fox? we'll see

The fights have been so clean so far. And I love the mixed gender fights, I was expecting them to throw all the girls at each other as per usual but nope!

I love getting to see actual martial arts mixed into the anime instead of just cool poses and screaming names of moves. I'm an action fan but this show actually has production quality. Kudos to MAPPA. And the writer includes pieces of history, war, and gods. I'm here for it!
