| It was nice to see Saito in all her THICCness. I think they portrayed her character perfectly. It's about time Ash lost and got a hard taste of reality that no matter how Hot of a streak you are on it only takes one battle, game, event, bad move, etc to end that streak. While I do not think Ash got a big head he did tend to get slightly cocky. It was nice to see how Angry he got when Saito disrespected Corni. I think that will only fuel his fire more (along with losing) to train up his pokemon and eventually beat Saito. Looking forward to next week's Pikachu episode. |

| this has to be like the first time the actual Karate Master from the Saffron Dojo is part of the main show with no sign of Terri and Master Hamm in sight looks like Bea has more abs here than in Twilight Wings too lol |
| Anyone else thought riolu was gana evolve? lol for plot reasons ashes streak = dead , time to face the truth. there will always be someone better but it was kīnda his fault. he had better options to fight bea like his dragonite, or pikachu. maybe even gengar. gggg |
| I think Ash got kinda cocky here by using his newest Pokemon against a Gym Leader. Like, Pikachu, Dragonite and Gengar would have literally rekt Bea lol But on the bright side, this will help both Riolu and Farfetch'd as motivation for a future rematch :P So far Riolu is having a similar combat experience to Infernape, that fire monkey we all loved. Now I'm looking forward to see how far the little one can go :P |

| is there anybody who thought Satoshi will win today? I mean they set the flags early on with the "undefeated streak" talk. And his opponent also had a place in the op, so she was unlikely to be a one episode appearance. So yeah, it was obvious. |

| i figure satoshi would lose, i mean the fact that Saito is a gym leader and one of the newest ones not to mention fighting a brand new pokemon from the newest gen of course he would but still this was a great ep and nice to see satoshi get his wake up call cause he was getting full of himself but yeah i think he'll end up battling her again when he gets lucario and its something im looking forward to |

| i agree with the others, Kamonegi fight was kinda pointless lol not to mention, if Corni lost to the point Saito said she is "too soft", there was little chance the Riolu could do much better then the mega evolved Lucario with years of training oh well, at least 1 of the few characters that i liked from Twilight Wings will have some screen time :D i wonder if Rurina/Nessa will appear too |

| Daaamn. Bea wrecked Ash's ass. Better to give Ash good rivals to fight, then just having him win all the time. Huh, I wondered a few weeks back, if Go is catching all Pokemon, that he'd need to get a Pikachu, and welp. Guess we're getting our answer next week. |

| SO apparently Galarian trainers and Gym leaders are better than everyone else. Corni is soft? Lance losing to Dande? Galarian Karate? If Ash/Satoshi was starting fresh in the Galarian region I would understand, but this season includes every region and it's making everyone else seem weak by comparison. Of course Ash/Satoshi was going to lose! All the tropes were there. (cocky, "undefeated streak", not using his best type Pokemon, not battling like himself fully). But he is a pokemon league champion, so of course he would have a great run so far. But let's forget all that for the sake of making the new region full of beasts. Anyway, Ash/Satoshi is the only protagonist that never seems to progress. How can you be a pokemon master if you don't remember how a Hawlucha battles? You had one lol. I would have liked to see Go's battle as well. |

| Bea's in the show. Finally. I've literally been waiting for this since they announced her design for the games. Looks like they made her more of a rival rather than a gym leader that Ash beats in 2 episodes and we never see again. Definitely a good sign and I expect to see her show up at least a few more times in the future. Hopefully she stays strong and relevant all the way to the endgame. Easily one of my favorite characters in the show right now. |

| Despite being the strongest of Alola doesn't make you the best of the world. Especially in Galar the trainers are extra formiddable according to lore. This is the first time in the ENTIRE series the opposing character doesn't even have an opinion on Ash, only that his technique is lacking. She disrespected Corrina by telling him how she was too soft, too weak. Obviously that got Ash worked up, he wanted to humble that behaviour. But Goddamn, this was a one sided massacre, I haven't seen anything like this EVER in my 20+ years watching this series. Someone who is just better then you, the opposing pokémon, even a hawlucha Ash is so familliar with was just too much. Bea's dominance in character was popping, unscatched by Ash's techniques... This is the first time in the series I actually wanted a battle to end despite the amazing animations. Ash was getting mentally tortured over there. The writing, Ash's fear of getting close and eventually just shouting out random orders. 10/10 episode and definitely the best of pokémon journeys, but lately this anime is really getting into it. The continuation is just generally remarkable, and Go may well be Ash's best companion ever after the 37th episode, his sense of hedonism and individuality is top tier. |

| I don't really get the logic of having Ash tie with Bea; she's not even that strong considering that she's merely a Gym Leader and Ash had stronger Pokemon to use that he chose not to for his own reasons. Riolu hogging the biggest part of the battle was super annoying but that word describes the aura jackals in general lol. |
| knew that ash will lose soon in a way or another, it's only choice of writing to how and to who, and they did it great against bea. bea sure likeable character, though her opinions is radical, she was portrayed fine. thought all along the episode riolu going to evolve, probably in the rematch? |

| Lmao I love how Ash commanded Riolu to "hang in there" like it was a move. Fun battle but we've seen Ash think way more outside of the box, that said well played by Bea. Also I definitely expected Riolu to evolve there, pretty sure it's gonna happen soon though. |
