| I remember the manga as really sweet, even though it was a bit rushed. I feel like the movie format will do this manga good! The mangaka’s art is simply gorgeous and the story is simple and has a nice pacing. The fact that’s it’s not very tropey or rapey is a huge plus for me as well! Anyways, I’ll be looking forward to it! ^^ |

| I remember this manga being very rushed and feeling unengaging as a result. However it did have some sweet moments, and the lack of uke-seme dynamics and rapey scenes was nice to see. Never felt the need to read the sequel but I might now as the movie's coming out. Artstyle was pretty to look at as well. |

| I honestly never thought it would receive and anime adaptation, as majority of the good BL manga out there never get animated. I'm very pleased to know that it's getting an adaptation, as it's one of my favourite BL manga series. |

| I'm really excited about this. I just finished the manga and it was very cute. I'm 12 chapters into the sequel and it's even better so I'm hoping they'll also do a movie for that too. It's really good slice of life/BL romance without the cliches. Seems like 2020 is a good year for BL since we're getting a few other potentially good ones this year apparently (Twittering Birds Never Fly, Propose-hen, Ten Count) |

| Not really hoping for anything since i think that it's only in the sequel where the series really shines, and, considering the no-name director, i kinda doubt they'll be able to translate the manga's strengths to the anime medium. But if anything it'll be pretty sweet and i hope they make enough success to justify adapting the sequel (preferably TV format, considering the structure of the chapters) |

| eeee i just got the notification on when it'll be airing!! i'm unsure on whether it'll be immediately aired in america since I haven't looked at the information but hopefully im right :)*fingers crossed* I don't wanna wait like with the given movie. | Super excited to watch this... once I find somewhere to watch it; I've been hyped since the announcement. I feel like the structuring of the Umibe no Étranger manga would just.. fit really well in a movie format. I hope that (if it's good, crossing my fingers!) it will get the recognition it deserves, since it does have same-sex relationships. Some people just won't watch it because of that, because it's a BL, yaoi, shounen-ai, or however they want to put it. And really.. we all need to grow up from that. Some amazing shows and movies that portray gay relationships have been released, like Doukyuusei and No. 6, but they always end up being put into one of those categories, when they're usually more than just that.. not some weird fujoshi fever dream. What I think I'm trying to say is that, gay relationships are more than just a genre in anime. Just because something isn't heterosexual doesn't make it a yaoi or a yuri. There is a difference between gay relationships that are just.. relationships, and gay relationships that are unrealistic and harmful, with many tropes and are often fetishized. And sadly, the ladder of the two is the thing that gets recognized more often, so whenever people hear of something that's gay, they will automatically think that it will be like that. So then the actually good anime, that doesn't portray those toxic tropes, gets grouped in with the bad, and doesn't get recognition. Hopefully I made some type of sense. Haha. Besides that, here's hoping that they did one of my (and our, if the ring fits) favorite manga justice! ╰(*´︶`*)╯ |
