THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.

Hmm, they're emphasizing the idea of time ride a lot this episode. Then again, this series involves time travel as a major theme.

Episode featured a lot of Yuri. I got mixed thoughts about her character tbh since she doesn't seem like a character that I'm invested in. However, she does have an important role considering the information she knows that Derrida really needs.

Weakest episode so far imo. A lot of repetitive context and pretty much a slow way of building the story.

The time travel exposition gimmick continues...

Another slow episode that oh God is it frustrating to go through...definitely agree with you @Stark700 that this episode draws back and does not progress.

But in essence, with Derrida trying to experiment time travel through memories is nothing special, just some limitation when he tries to change the past which affects the timelines of others as well.

As for Yuri, other than being an information broker to Derrida, this episode exemplifies how the producers really don't know how to take her character direction with. Does she have feelings for Derrida, or is that her connection with Mage makes things more complicated, only time will tell.

Let's just time travel to next week to find out.

Can't believe we've already hit the mid-mark of the series so soon...

"Time ride is a way of traveling back in time by sending your consciousness into your past self" - hmm, where did I hear this before? Oh yeah, Steins;Gate.
This episode was like a weak copy of Steins;Gate, without any scientific stuff related to time travel...
So if I have strong memories about something, I just have to concentrate on it, and then I can go back in time... woah... magic... in a sci-fi series...
Story is weak and I can't sympathize with the characters... The direction and the mood are great, but the characters and the story are dumb... (I like Yuri only)

Looks like this won't be the new Steins;Gate... I mean, in terms of quality.

So, in this case, you send your consciousness to your past self to change the past events, but only lasting few seconds... I find convenient that Derrida can do this whenever he wants to, yet, it isn't very practical that he can't do much when "time riding", what a way to nerf it I suppose.

I'm going to finish this shit because its halfway done lol

Things could and should progress faster, especially since this just a 12 episode series, but at least they explored the time travel expect and gave an explanation how it works here.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

The time leaping felt too convenient and the content was repetitive to the point that I legit fell asleep for an hour when watching this.

So yeah nothing really happened. Experimenting with the time leaping is kinda cool, but it almost feels more supernatural than sci-fi. I mean all he has to do is think about a memory really hard and then that mage spirit thing lets him leap. At least I think that's how it's happening. It's like Steins;gate except they don't explain how any of the time travel crap works.

Also atm seems like any time he attempts to do anything in the past that could change something significant, he gets booted out. Could the deaths of his father and friend be... a point of "convergence." Lul

all these time rides drove me crazy with borderline boredom. so if u think hard enough and have intensive memories you can go back in time? what bs. then anyone who has ptsd and suffer from flashbacks ought to time leap too, following this silly logic.

This episode explains further the Time ride and well.it really depends on the memory of the person. And it looks like he is trying his best to change what happened in the past. Hmmm.. lets see if he can really does change it..

Wait
If he can't make significant changes in the past, then why was he fine when talking to his dad a few episodes back, it was only for the Father's stubbornness that everything failed

I feel that the main problems of this show are execution and characters, aside from Völker, Who is fine on his own, kind of wish that He was the main character

Why does Derrida suddenly have the power to "time ride" by himself? They are not even asking this question in the anime, so I feel like we will not be getting an answer for it. (Unless, they've already answered it, and I missed it.)

I hope they are not planning to solve everything with time travel. Right now, it doesn't look like they can change the past drastically, and I hope it stays like that. Finding a way to make big changes in the past won't be that fun. (I'm thinking of 'About Time'.)

This is a very far-fetched theory but..

Remember when Derrida got locked up in that cryogenic bed? Some time later (probably a few years later), Mage came there right? She put a locket on top of the bed. That locket might be a product of Mage's experiments from when she was young (remember when Nathan called Derrida to tell him about her experimenting all by herself?).

Derrida took the locket and always wore it since then as implied in ep 5. Time rides should need a specific equipment as Derrida said and in his case, I think it's the locket.

Why Yuri go outside? Just look at your camera INSIDE. Idiot.

Basically, this "time ride" is just a weak version of Steins;Gate. I hope that's will be explained in the future.

If only Honoka Yuri told the truth then Derida would know what past he should be changing.

Will Yuri ever tell Derrida what she's knows? Hopefully she will, after they locate her and her kidnapper.

Would have liked it if the character designs was better. All the mains look lacklustre at best, they look cheap, like extras in a b-rate show.

Liked the story a fair amount though.

Damn it Yuri... pretty nice episode though! Really getting quite good to be honest. I do wonder what will happen to Yuri though.
