| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Lol, a kid Kai is even more a curious character than I had expected when he was just a few years old. The show continues to build more on the background stories. Reiko looked really young back then. Solid piano performance as usual. The inner thoughts and pacing supplemented with each other quite well. Seems Takako has been improving too. |

| For one moment I hated that judge. Takako may not be the winner but she made it for Kai's piano, and obvious winner is obvious. Looks Kai is kinda lost, suppose he'll be back on track next episode. |

| Great episode. Loved that little flashback with Rei-chan reflecting on Kai as a kid, The farewell between Shuuhei and Kai wasn't really as emotional as it could've been. I guess since they rushed through the early parts of their friendship no one is probably gonna be attached to the bond they did in fact share. It was real nice hearing Takako play her own piano even though Shuuhei nailed his performance competition wise. I'm really liking the two judges that were shown conversing a lot this episode, I hope they eventually change the criteria for judging these competition. That said, Congratulations to Shuuhei for winning with full point and congratulations to Takako for winning the judges honorary award. She sure showed that competition was more that just following sheet music. After all, playing the way you want is the most important thing. :) The scene where Takako tears up after realizing she did indeed move the judges was emotional. I think I prefer the still frame performance animation style compared to awkward looking CG performance we had. Kai really wants to play. :( Anyway, we're finally moving past the movie content so I'm excited to see what's next since everything after this is gonna be new to me. |

| Kaid is having struggles. Poor him, can't play the piano and his rival moved. He wants to plat the piano, but something is missing within him. Nice psychological moment. That flashback, curious Kai was adorable. Good music as always in the competition. But the shine of the episode was Takako. Her inner thoughts showing Kei was amazing, nice development there. I was expecting a battle between the first and second place, but this way was better. She did what she wanted to do! |

| Such a bittersweet episode... It was incredibly sad to watch what Kai was going through, being unable to persuade the forest piano to play for him. But, I absolutely love and adore what Takako did for him, in his stead, since he had not received the acknowledgment he deserved from the qualifiers. Putting herself into such a pseudo-'zen' state, becoming one with a mental echo of him, so as to play the way he played. And the honorary mention award she recieved for it; Yea, I loved it. It was also somewhat sad to see Shuuhei moving away, kind of breaking up the band, if you will. But, I loved the parting sentiments shared between both he and Kai, as well as he and Ajino. And, lest it need be pointed out, but that's TWO, count 'em, TWO piano sequences that were utmost effective in embodying their significance, and the emotion behind each of them, without a single bit of incredibly lame, sticking out like a sore thumb, CGI. Alrighty, then. |

| Wow, this was the first great episode in this show. Kinda glad that Saga had a change of heart and that he and the other judges gave Takako the honorable mention award. That kinda surprised me,especially since his previous statements left a completely different impression. Well,that was my most emotional moment in this episode and clearly above the parting of Shuuhei and Kai. Wonder how things will continue with Kai now. |

| Judges should eat shit. Kai deserved to be in the final and the winner should've been that girl BUT NOOOO. Just because Amamiya's parents are well known. I agree he played the piano very well too but some have more talent than others.. I'm feeling so sorry for Kai. I think the piano is gone, He should get a new piano but more than sure his mother is too poor for that. Or maybe Kai just got demotivated because he didn't get in the final so he can't relax and play the forest piano like he always did. |

He won because he followed the music sheet perfectly instead of playing his own version like Kai and Takako did. I think the piano left Kai because he now has found his own music, so it's time for him to go and learn from Ajino. |
| Nice episode! Kai's own Piano at the forest already broke for good. eventhough Amamiya won and scored 1st place in the competition, and Takako didn't even reached top 3, at least she was given an Honorable mention because she played it her own way just like Kai and also with the help of Kai! 5/5. |

They "did not" disqualify him because he took his shoes off, they might found it improper but those judges didn't judge Kai's performance base on that action. The way Kai's play that piece is different from the original one so judges feel like Amamiya should won despite the fact Kai played it better than anyone else. Its the same for music in rock (--> insert Title of the song) then reviving it into acoustic or ballad. Thats what happen to Kai's performance. He played it differently from the original (he played it according to "his own version") and of course musician who respect the original music (let say those judges) will be displeased if they played it differently from the original one. |

I still think Kai's behaviour might have influenced the judges. Even if he didn't play the piano like a robot the spectators were in love with it. But you're right too, it's not easy to play exactly like Amamya did, maybe I'm being toxic just because I like Kai [Wendi lul] a lot :c |

| Aweee I love this episode and I appreciate how Takako fight with KAI through the competition although she didn't make it on to 3 at least she got an award. Flashback of Rei CHAN and little KAI so cute. I hope KAI will get back in the nect episode. |
