The secret of Kekkai Sensen lies in the essence and peculiarity of each script, character and background staged, in the abrupt changes of context.. These details make the big difference, finally creating a good anime.

I bet he can! Since his eyes seem to be some kind of ultimate weapon and all.

STEVEN IS CHAIN'S TOKEN. That Pairing !

Interesting part when the Ex-communicated werewolf says, 'We could have been billionaires, if you only listened to me'. I'm guessing it had something to do with robbing who knows what. Goes to show Chain and the other operatives have a high sense of integrity.

So either Steven is Chain's token or those garbages were her token.

The situations itself is her Token.
The note was numbered 4, and it simply said "Steven A. Starphase suddenly visits Chain's room".

Chain hugging the trash was simply her last second effort to clean her room.
Since it's numbered 4, I imagine chain wrote up some "situations" she wants to experience, rather than being tied to a "thing"

Are there a real plot here? Or only case per case?

The original source manga is actually episodic, the first season was the one that wasn't actually "faithful" to the source. The Black White overarching plot was an anime original.

She only has one thing that ties her to this world, being Steven, as you see in the car when they say, 100% unadulterated tie to this world (ie. her thing for Steven). The Casper 4 thing is merely her call sign, so it isn't 4 different tokens. That would make the token kind of pointless imo.

But why so many other "tokens" in her emergency protocol? Was one copy not enough?

My understanding is that it works in the same way a Totem does in the movie Inception, where in this case its a tool you use to pull you back to reality. And considering her affection has been hinted since mid-volume 2 (pic), , I would surmise that they either all have something to do with him, or its a difference between anime and manga.

I really like the fact that they are giving more screen time to characters who didn't show us before that much, although the result isn't that different because the only thing that the staff show us of the characters is how powerful they are besides some vague characteristics of their daily routines.

In my case, I found very cute the fact that, literally, the reason that Chain "comes back to life" is to live an experience of that kind with the man she likes, although this one is very intense to notice it. I thought it was a nice detail and the highlight of the episode. Thanks, I have a new ship now.

Maybe it's too soon to say fairly. But I think this season's still kind of struggling to come together. It doesn't have a cohesive overarching narrative. And it's still failing to give even a fraction of its main cast adequate screen time every episode. That said an episode like this was long overdue. In the anime Chain has been an enigmatic wild card for too long. What are the extent and scope of her powers? What is her motivation and backstory? For gods sake what's her personality even like? This episode gave us some much needed insight into all of these.

It was a little dumb. A little under explained. And I can't help but feel that this season has gotten even more fetishy in uncomfortable ways. Can't help but notice it's a man in the director's chair this time too. But the climax of the Werewolves mission was pretty great. And I thought the ending joke was solid too. Hope Zapp gets redemptive screen time where he's not a punching bag soon.

Yeah, it's really subtle that the universe was slowly replacing or undoing anything Chain did.
-The white vase she bought, was suddenly changed into a different vase
-the Burger dude, forgetting stuff again.
-Even Steven forgot on why he was standing in front of her room for an instant.

Also curious if her Tokens are different everytime, seeing this was the 4th token.

Thanks. I didn't realize this, either, even though I knew something was up with the constant focus on the vase.

Anyway, great episode. Chain is so cool!

Another rushed episode. Everything is so fast, for example, the generic villain. Still with lack of cohesive narrative, 2/5

We had to wait until season 2 but finally we get an episode focused on Chain (my favorite character) and I was not disappointed. It was cool to find out that the werewolves don't just go invisible they partially fade out of existence.

Though I'm still a little confused about the werewolf thing.
I'm pretty sure now it's just the name of her group and she can't actually turn into a bipedal wolf :p

It’s nice to see Chain getting more screen time in this season. The team she is part of seems like such a rag tag bunch of covet operatives. And one that has rather unorthodox methods of completing their objectives!

New is back! I’m glad that even after what happened in season 1 Nej and Leo can still have a friendship. Also nice to see they didn’t change! Didn’t know that Chain also had such a fun side but it’s great to see some character development! But she really needs to tidy up that flat xD

Then the free fall infiltration was incredible! This power they have seems really powerful but now it makes sense why they need such a strong attachment to the real world. Thought it was all over when they were captured but Chain is unbelievable! Finally got to see her abilities in action - Existence Dilution - against a formidable foe. Thought she’d be lost for good to save her team. But nice work Steven ;)

Fetishy? When was it ever that and how does it increase an aspect that was never there?

One of the most interesting episodes of the anime series, because it explains something about the elusive character of Chain and shows new characters that I would like to know much better. Intriguing and very funny narration, excellent backgrounds and the BGM.

Great to see an episode about best girl Chain and her squad.... with their high accuracy shooting rate lol of 94 rounds and 0 hits.
Interesting to know a little more about the invisible werewolf power, and to see who Chain has a crush on ain't that right lucky bastard Steven ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

94 round and they didn't hit a single shot? xD LVL 100 aim.
Leo and our Mushroom man going out for Burgers again, the noises he made were too funny.

wait, what did I miss?

I see the scene where they murder their former comrade and next moment nothing and scene ends?

What about the psychopaths (look up definitions, actually, sociopaths might even fit better) are unharmed, nothing. I mean, did they not send an armed biological weapons yet they are not harmed despite being terrorist?

Or what, is it the ideea that they are the militery? so let me see if I understand correctly, they want to get vampiere soldier, aka monsters who wil kill and eat other humans. On top, they send a rocket who know to who.... did you pay attention? they are not injecting in their own soldire, but send it to another place, meaning they have NO control over the new vampieres. Aka they most likely would case a vampire outbrake in who know where, where the citizens will turn into vampieres and kill their own people. Yet thoes people are left unahrmed in any way and form.... I don't understand this logic. They ignore tons of being being killed by psyhopaths because it's beyond their control, but when in contact with psychopaths, they leave them in power.... wow, I finally get it, it's a little childrens shows where the main characters never capture the enemies because you know, heroes don't harm anyone... Wow, I can't even imagen how deaths, Libra could have prevented, if only they took care of the psychopaths insted of acting like good for nothing fictive heroes created for little chidren
