Royalty is really quite something in this show..

Solid episode. We got more world building as the setting transits into the Kingdom of Urado. I really like how this show expands more its world setting as some of it is based on real world locations (my guess is probably Hungary)

Mahmut is really carring a huge responsibility on his shoulders..
I like the risk he is taking tbh.

Very nice, they go North into the snowing lands.

Good on Mahmuto to turn things around and manage to sway the King to join with Turkiye after he already made a decision with the Empire.

War is on the horizon based on that preview.

They got saved from execution by discovering bird droppings lol. The Kingdom of Urado is now saved from poverty. It was sad to know how the elderly passes way. They made a wise decision to join forces with Torqye. Mahmut did a good job convincing them.

Mahmut and his group managed to avoid execution.

Mahmut has done a great job in convincing the King of Urado in joining his side.

well this episode bumped it up to a 8 for me, I've liked this show, but the fact that while there is war and combat, I like the fact that it's not always the best solution, the way that two nations joined without force, but through diplomacy and maneuvering politically I love.

Saved by bird shit at the last moment. Well done Mahmut. I really want to see the face of that smug Imperial minister.

Animal droppings are great fertilizers for agriculture, especially for organic farming; mostly cow, bird and earthworms kinds.

In this episode, we witnessed the 'Geography Is Destiny' allegory. Some countries are lucky, some of them have to make a living out of the land and surroundings to survive.

It looks like the great war is coming. I didn't read the manga, but I am expecting that some good or bad characters from many countries will die. I don't know, this is just my assumption based on what the series has shown me.

I forgot to add; why the envoy goes to the execution? It is a big crime in this certain history. I mean, it is a big mistake for the king, of course unless that envoy threatened the king behind closed doors.

Great episode again.

I enjoyed the small eagle contest.
I really liked Urado's kulak, I hope we see more of her. xD

The second half with Mahmut negotiating with the King and talking him into forming an alliance with Torqye was so awesome. I actually got chills with the way he spoke up and convinced the King. The boy's grown so much since the first episode.

Who would have thought bird droppings would save a country? XD

Feels like quite a bit has been squeeze into this episode but I might just prefer this sort of pacing since any more would feel slightly dragged out. Another enjoyable episode with the great war coming!

THE POWER OF DIPLOMACY!

I once mentioned in one of the episode discussions that Mahmut's past experiences will help him deal with future conflicts. Looks like it applied here again. After he traveled to Phoinike and Venedik and learning about Balt-Rhein and other surrounding territories, he was able to summarize what each nation specializes in. Trade and commerce shows the intention of peace, while expanding territory shows the intention of war. And thanks to Abiriga and his knowledge of Sterco, Mahmut was able to convince the King of Urado to join Turkye. Excellent episode!

And Margit being a Princess, a Minister, AND a Kulak? Suleyman Bey saving Mahmut's ass from behind the scenes.

Can someone please explain to me the logic behind the last bits?

I'm kinda lost. Mahmut overall goal was to form alliances with Venedik and this Kingdom so that the Balt-Rheim would be hestitated to attack, correct? Mahmut goal was to prevent all-out war with Empire by the means of diplomacy (this episode) and economy (last episode).

And then the King goes and makes a mess by executing the diplomatic envoy giving Empire PERFECTLY VALID casus belli and frankly inviting them to start war. Which is kinda the very thing that Mahmut DIDN'T WANT.

Great job dude.

Also why he even agreed to alliance? He was considering it beacuse he saw no other options and Mahmut just gave him that option (fertilizer) which combined with isolationist policies of Kingdom would give him means to freely choose which merchant and which country sell fertilizer at any price he wants. Bonus: it also give him MASSIVE edge over primary agricultural countries like Empire. So after Mahmut revealed that hidden asset the Kingdom DOESN'T NEED AN ALLIANCE TO BEGIN WITH! I was kinda hoping that he would go: ''Oh, well then we don't need any of you. Get the f*** out here".

By choosing Mahamut's proposal, he'd still become the enemy of the Empire. The Empire said that they'd be under their protection if they choose their offer. But Mahamut made a valid point in how they'll be used to fight at the frontline. The best choice was to side with Torqey (turkey). There was no point in keeping him alive, that's how it always is in political warfare

The point Mahmut made is valid I don't deny that. As to the other thing you got it backwards: there was no point in executing him, nothing to gain whatsoever .The only thing it managed to do was to piss off Empire, give them casus belli and messs with Mahmut stratagem. It wasn't political warfare beacuse neither Turkiye nor Kingdom gained anything, that was just pissing off Empire for sake of pissing off Empire.

Zigsmund III loosely based from the Vlad the Impaler, and iirc he had habit of executing the envoys he doesn't like.

Turkye helps in commence and that was established before.

He needs their help.

Also he executed the envoy because he has the info on the alliance I think.. It also gives them time to prepare to defend against the empire.
it tells them that there is no option for allying too.

Well Urado could overprice the fertilizer and sell it to the Empire...but why should the Empire pay for it when they can easily just steamroll their asses and take the fertilizer for themselves? Urado doesn't want to sell their fertilizer at the Empire's demanded price? Urado is the country that is at a complete disadvantage here. The empire would run them over, and then the empire would use that fertilizer for their lands, monopolize the fertilizer trade, and then dominate the continent even more.

Remember when Mahmut mentioned that trade promotes peace? When two parties come into an agreement on a trade, both prosper, but if one of the parties is not satisfied with the agreement, then the trade will not commence and neither party will benefit from it. Urado was a struggling country, so he sided with Turkye because it would be more beneficial to them rather than siding with the empire which would turn their already dying kingdom into a battleground. Ally with a strong nation that will protect your weak one, or ally with a nation that will help your weak nation become stronger?

Well dayum Mahmut is one great orator, way to go xD Saved by bird poop :P

A princess, minister and kulak, sounds like they dont have enough people to do all the government work? And seriously who does Suleyman Bey not know?? XD

So Mahmut gains another ally, interesting how he's doing this through means of economy, he really knows more about the nations surrounding torqye and is increasingly fitting as the minister of foreign affairs~

Although one point I noticed is that the Empire has lots of people making all sorts of moves (though they're all probably at the order of that same minister) to the other nations but for Torqye it's basically just Mahmut? I guess it's understandable how they do not have a proper ministry to tackle foreign affairs but still? :o And really is the duchess the only general from the Empire we are ever going to see in this story or are we going to see more generals as the war spreads?

I'm surprised they did such a close inspection for body checkup lol....

That Urado king surprised me I thought he ally with Balt-rhein but I was wrong. If it was me I would've chose them, they seem like a better candidate since they are powerful than Torqye. Now Mahmut has gained another ally, he is one hard working pasha.
