It's a shame that Inuyasha has to find all the scattered shikon shards in order to get the jewel >.< I actually think Kagome would become very annoying if she keeps asking Inuyasha to sit but thats the fun of it XD

Inuyasha and Kagome really hate each other. Inuyasha seems to be being good hearted.

Yura of the hair is a strange demon. She doesn't seem to be that strong, it's just that her hair is invisible so she catches people off guard with it.

Lol at the scene where Kaede makes Inuyasha promise not to forget her xD Kagome's back home and it's nice to see her reunite with her family They must've been been worried sick.

I wonder if she will come back? I mean, she has to because the shikon jewel is her responsibility but whether she comes back willingly or not is another story.

I didn't understood that it was setting during the Sengoku-jidai. That's actually really interesting. I wonder if we will see the devasted Japan, or the multiple clan clashing against each others.

So people can time travel to their will through the well? How has it not created time paradox yet..? Also, I think understand why the bones where disappearing from the well after a few hours x)

It's set during feudal Japan because Rumiko Takahashi a bunch of people being killed in an era full of war would stand out less then a bunch of people being killed in a peaceful time and place.

Wow didn't thought kagome could return to her own world by just jumping back into the well, I thought it would requiere something else.

Ohh seeing Kagome's body ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

When she dreessed up with that garment. She really does look like Kikyou.

Ahh the demon Yura!! Yajima Aiko's voice is so iconic! Instantly recognized it the moment I heard of her ^^

i don't understand people disappointing that the manga shows kagome front while the anime don't, it's aired on tv...

seems that inuyasha will learn from this incident that he needs kagome with him for the journey.

1. "Hey! ...get undressed."
2. INUYASHA is a tsundere, which is somewhat refreshing, cause usually it's female who acts tsundere. Haven't watch many shows with a Tsundere male lead.
3. KAGOME in that Kimono is very pretty.

I love how we get to see so many Japanese mythological creatures. This time we get introduced to the hair demon Yura, who seems to love Inuyasha's hair, which is understandable since he is so strong. It would only made sense if, in her possession, his hair would become a great weapon.

We also get to see more of his dog-like nature when he digs a pit to hide Kaede, which also indicates how caring he really is!

Not cool to peep when a girl takes her bath tho! Plus, I think a great reason why he doesn't want to call Kagome by her name is because he hasn't get over Kikyo's death yet.

It's a little too early in the plot, for Kagome to be able to return in her own world.

Yura's design is clearly based on Kurama from Urusei Yatsura.

It's interesting that Kagome (and others based on the preview) can travel between timelines so easily. Ig it wouldn't make much sense to ignore the well for long but I'm surprised this happened so early.

I'm worried about the slow pacing. I thought I'd try to finish Inuyasha in 2 months after spending 4 months with Ranma 1/2 but it seems very unlikely considering my own pace.

Ataru Moroboshi is arguably the first male tsundere or the first tsundere in general. And he was written by Rumiko Takahashi as well. Inuyasha seems to be an evolution of that formula after Ranma.

Ya. Generally Bold + ATARU is tsundere only when it comes to LAM.

The pacing is perfect for me, but a lot of people heavily dislike it; especially when juxtaposed against the majority of series of the past 10 or 15 years. It might help to think of it as a very character-driven story rather than a more strictly plot-focused one. The overarching central plot is in no rush to advance and takes long meandering paths and pauses just to spend time with the characters and world even if it doesn't fundamentally alter anything plot-critical or achieve a new objective. Or rather, another way of thinking about it is that there is the main plot on paper (which this early on it's only gotten into one aspect of) and then the plot of the characters' collective and internal journey for its own sake in and of itself.

Also, because of the historical and rural setting, there is also an atmospheric sense of timelessness or suspended time. Other than some scenes like those you've seen already in the modern era (modern to when the anime came out, so 2000, or late 90s if you base it on the manga), there is no school, there are no workplaces, there are no clocks and electronic timekeeping devices and all that noise and the setting is woodsy countryside. Characters don't feel the need to punch a clock day-to-day and that definitely bleeds through to the narrative and feeling it gives off. Even the fact of being set away from modern Tokyo/modern Japan and away from a more regimented life with such focus on ritual, supplication, politeness, etc. gives it a foreign wild feel.

@WatchTillTandava I think I'll get used to the pacing slowly. It's just that anime has changed a lot since the early 2000s compared to more modern shows that I watched. For example, long-running shows are becoming increasingly rarer. Nowadays, it's more common for shows to have multiple seasons that can air years apart from each other. Whereas then it was normal for adaptations of long-running mangas to have many episodes airing continuously. The pacing reflects that I think.

I'm familiar with other Rumiko Takahashi works so I could tell that this show was gonna be character-driven like the others. So, yeah.
