Never seen a thread about this, so here you go.

The first japanese DVD/Blu-ray of Rokka no Yuusha will be available in September 16, 2015 and will cover the 2 first episodes.

It contains a video with the 7 main seiyuu and a lot of goodies :

The DVD version will cost 5800 ¥ : ~ $ 47
The Blu-ray version will cost 6800 ¥ : ~ $ 55

$47 for 2 episodes? Is that the normal price?

Also, any idea when the full season will be available on retail? I want to support the series but don't wanna buy it in pieces.

I find this quite expensive too but maybe it's only a first version of the dvd with all the bonus. And then later there could be a normal version with only the episodes, I don't know :/

In Japan? yes definitely.
That's called rental pricing.

lol so they aren't using the original LN name?

Flamie Spidlow!? WTF??

Yes, they apply the "official" names of the anime and doesn't rely on the light novel. If you go to the official website of the anime (US or JP), you will see for example Flamie. While on the official website of the novel, it will be Fremy.
I think it works like localization in video games.

But Spidlow is horrible.

To this day no one knows how to spell Fremy's name for certain.

Correct. We know it's "fremy" but "speeddraw" is just a guess with no proof baking up.
However, since the anime studio isn't even able to spell properly Fremy and spelt it Flamie, we can be sure that the anime studio just randomly choose as well without consulting the author. So it's up to everyone to choose which on looks better/logical.

Will keep an eye out for a western version of the BDs (that hopefully come with goodies as well).
I really want to support this title. Since it really has a good story, which even had me go out of my way and read the LN volumes after the anime ended.

Hopefully the second volume will be animated as well. Because we can really use a gem like RnY between all those moe blobs and mindless action shounen.

Prepare to rage. Ponycan bought the NA rights. I've never heard of em, but apparently they plan to release the series in 3 sets of 4 episodes. And I REALLY hope I'm wrong but their other licenses are running 70 USD per 4-episode set so chances are we'll be looking at over 200 USD for a goddamn 12-episode anime that may or may not ever get a 2nd season. As much as I wanna support things I love, like Rokka, that price is just beyond outragious and I'm just gonna pirate until the price goes down to the uncomfortable-but-mildly-acceptable 60 USD for the entire 12 episodes.

I was tempted by the US version because it will actually make a difference.

Anime is good, fucking deal with it.

That price is ridiculous...agh, that sucks, I would love to support the series and as soon as possible too. But I would also have to wait for the prices to drop, $200 for 12 episodes is flat out unreasonable.

I think I've heard of Ponycan and their terrible prices though...I feel like I've seen some people ranting about them.
