Wow, I never thought that a simple fighter plane could destroy a whole ship, guess it just got it in the right spot.

One complaint I had with all three of these titles were...

Wow... this was amazing, better than first episode.

The way this episode looked at war was just astounding, a really deep story.

That was friggin' depressing. The one who reported the atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima aboard the American carrier looked like Nogami, with matching facial scars across the cheek too!

That was so sad... At first I thought Nogami will survive the war as he came back from mission at August 5th - that A-bomb will ground them somehow...

Am I a bad person for rooting for the kamikaze pilot?

Damn what a crazy episode! Really quite an ending, in this war it sure was quite hard for both parties if they picture it like this!

I wish Nogami never went through with the sacrifice, I think he was a decent man I was really hoping he wouldn't . I think the Japanese lost against the Americans because of those Human Bombs (kamikaze), in other words they fought recklessly. They fought to to die instead to live for their country like the US did, the US fought using their minds and wise patriotism. I really hated how Japanese fought because it was futile and lacked strategy.

Anyway great episode.

This one was ok, I had a hard time feeling sympathy for anyone in this episode though, and the ending seemed completely muddled and it was hard to tell what exactly the end message was supposed to be. Were we supposed to hate the insensative evil americans? Was it simply the good old addage "war, war never changes"? Was it the evils of nuclear technology? And I can't even fathom what the point of the ending part with talking about the moon landing was all about. We kinda had like a bunch of tangently connected things thrown at us at the end, it was weird and confusing.

yeah this episode really just threw in a bunch of messages at the end. they probably should have stuck to something more simple given the run time. it was a bit weak given today's standards.

the show still beat my expectations with the animation being some of the best air to air combation animation I've seen. the battles were overall great. ill give it a faily high rating.

Kamikaze aircraft were loaded with bombs, torpedoes and other explosives. They were not just a simple fighter plane.

I like how they included the part about the American commander being told that they have just nuked Hiroshima. The way he knows that the war has brought both America and Japan to use some crazy and inhumane methods just to try and win the war is an important factor in the episode that I won't forget.

Sacrificing yourself to blow others up is nothing to be proud of, the same as dropping an atomic bomb on civilians is nothing to be proud of.

"Crazy" really is a good way to describe these people.
