THE GREAT DEBATE: Who is the better fighter? Afro Samurai (Afro Samurai) vs. Kenshin Himura (Rurouni Kenshin)
Kenshin Himura  Himura Kenshin, also known throughout the anime as Hitokiri Battousai (Battousai the Manslayer) is the main character of the anime series Rurouni Kenshin. His original name was Shinta. His parents died of cholera when he was very young and as a result, was adopted by three slave women in a traveling slave wagon. Soon after meeting them, bandits had raided the convoy and killed his three new guardians and where about to kill him when Seijeru Hiko killed the bandits. Hiko soon adopted the child and because Shinta was not a name fitted for a swordman, he renamed him Kenshin, meaning "Heart of Sword," took him under his wing and taught him the Hiten Mitsuruugi Ryu. His swordsmanship ranks among the elite as he is seen defeating every rival (with the exception of Hajime Saitou). His battle senses are top-notch and he recognizes even the slightest of advantages, strategies and tactics during a sword battle. Afro Samurai  The former holder of the title "Number Two," Afro is out to hunt down Justice, the man who killed his father for the rank of "Number One." From the time he was a child, Afro honed his skills as a swordsman; his style typically consists of wielding his sword with only his right hand while his left continues to hold on to his sheath, although during his fight with Jinno, he held his sword with both hands to compensate for Jinno's dual wielding speed. He is a very quiet individual, likely because the life of the "Number Two" does not allow him to have any close relationships with anyone, so when approached by others he says very little, if anything. | I just can't make myself consider Afrosamurai as a serious swordsman; he is a caricature hero. As a caricature he can do anything within a human's imagination. Kenshin is more of a real person character. According to the manga/anime he was the best. :) I think he is the coolest swordsman in the world of manga. Though, I would love to see him battling with Musashi (the greatest hero of Japan). +1 for KENSHIN |

| id have to go with afro, kenshin is really good and fought equally good opponents, and won. But, they were all only human. Afro, fought robots, skilled samurai, people with high-tech guns....and samurai's with teddy bear heads @.@ |
