| I'm currently on a Koji Yamamura spree. Out of all his shorts this was easily the least enjoyable. The soundtrack was great though. Probably the sole aspect that enthralled me in the slightest. |

| The symbolism in this animation is quite astute. The cacophonous soundtrack of this animation connects to the setting in an extreme fashion. Having lived in the city for the majority of my life, I know that the city is full of messy, lingering sounds, and I think the soundtrack portrays that nicely. If you're curious as to what the professor was looking for: I think he was looking for peace and quiet as shown in the before credits ending scene where he wanders off into the forest and leaves his binoculars, which he used to watch the rumble of the city, behind in the after-credits shot. |
