| There is always a danger of the manga going back into "status quo" after this, but if the direction this takes is stuck to...we could be in for something special. Great chapter, holy shit these last couple of chapters animated will be pretty glorious. |

| Having watched the anime first, I wish they'd taken their time and built up to this moment more like the manga did. Yes, they spent a lot of time on the conversation with Rize, but I think they rushed a lot of the other parts that were important. |
| By not being able to decide which to save resulted in both the mother and the child dying. I was comparing Mado's brutality to Yamori's because of that situation but I realized that the latter's way worse since he doesn't actually have a clear reason to do it other than breaking Kaneki's will to live and the fact that he succeeded in killing the child too. Nico fixing up the corpses and attempting to stop Yamori made me respect him more. He finally gave in to his wrath. He realized the weakness kindness had brought to him and his mother and how embracing the unstable power he possesses will be the one thing that will set him free and protect what's precious to him. Devouring his inner ghoul (Spirit Animal Rize) and going berserk in the process looked horrifying though. |

| I feel more sad and depressed than terrified comparing this to the anime :'( :'( What a turn of events. Tokyo Ghoul really deserves a better anime adaptation. If this was actually done well, it would have been as big as Attack on Titan now. Ughhh |

What a legendary last panel... Due to his regret of being not able to save the people he cares about, Kaneki fianlly realizes and accepts himself as ghoul. INCREDIBLE Character Development! |

| Honestly, this was really messed up. Jason is pure evil. He forced Kaneki to choose who to save between a mother and her son. The anime changed this to have a ghoul couple instead. But still. It was brutal seeing Jason slaughter both either way. I hated how Jason choked a child to death. |
