Gintama is overrated

Information

A club for those of us who know that Gintama isn't; has never been and never will be; the greatest anime of all time or even a candidate for that title.

Come on now, this is supposed to be the best anime ever made? It even admits itself that Naruto and One Piece are better.

The reasons for thinking this show is overrated may vary from member to member. Some might think it's good but far from a masterpiece and some might hate it from the bottom of their hearts. Whoever you are, if you can think of at least 50 titles that are better than Gintama, you're welcome here.

Also, this club only covers the anime. Since the manga don't seem to be equally popular. But you are of course free to bitch about the manga too.

Gintama is basically all the Naruto Filler episodes and all the filler episodes of every anime ever all mashed together into short mini arcs with all the canon episodes stripped out and ONLY the filler episodes left, only its a different cast of characters but its consistently like this even 200 episodes in. If you want to watch hundreds of Naruto Filler Arcs back to back, watch Gintama. Gintama is the TEXTBOOK DEFINITION of overrated. Seriously I legit hate this anime with a burning passion, I don't think I've ever despised an anime as much as Gintama in my entire life. I've repeatedly tried to get into it since 2009 with 6 attempts and my furthest being about 200 episodes in and it truly is overrated dog vomit. Its not funny, the fights suck, the characters suck, the Naruto Filler-esque mini-plots suck. I've seen people compare this anime to being the Japanese equivalent of Seinfeld but its literally not even close. In reality Seinfeld is a MASTERPIECE but Gintama is generic filler garbage juice that hipsters force themselves to drink with a fake smile on their face while they grit their teeth at the flavor and pretend to like it for clout and internet karma.

Gintama fans are even more annoying than the anime itself, they're pretentious narcissists who think they're intelligent because they watch something stupid. I've seen Gintama compared to masterpieces like Seinfeld and early South Park when in reality its hardly even comparable to Samurai Pizza Cats let alone BoBoBo... Gintama is LITERALLY the Radiohead/Tool of anime and Gintama fans are LITERALLY the Radiohead/Tool Fans of Anime. Gintama is overrated as all hell and its fans are pretentious d-bags that lack the character and qualities needed to properly to judge quality. Gintama got popular the same way Donald Trump did, when idiots have low standards they become gullible and its easy to start a cult, and a cult is exactly what Gintama's fanbase is because make no mistake Gintama is OBJECTIVELY and COMPARATIVELY total dog shit even in comparison to some of the objectively worst comedy anime like Love Hina (GREAT manga AWFUL anime adaptation.) and Samurai Pizza Cats.

Gintama started at a pretty nice anime. But it quickly gone stale with over used jokes and plot lines going nowhere

It´s a good show and has delivered the best comedy I´ve seen in Anime, still it has extremely weak momments which should get taken into consideration.

I think of it as a cencored version of japanese South Park.

Well, not trying to be rude, but it's kind of annoying how an anime managed to get to number 1 by just having a huge fanbase almost instantly assuming it's going to be the most awesome anime on the face of the planet. That's how I see it, please don't throw anything at me.
