Recently I've started working on a map containing all locations of every known footage of the 3/11 tsunami. A lot of the pins contain the names of the area/place/building is was filmed and a backup of the video on archive.org in case it ever gets removed/privated on youtube. All videos are as original and raw as possible.
I'm still far from finished but expect to see more and more locations added in the next few months. Progress is kind of slow because it takes a lot of time to collect information, the raw original footage with best quality and of course finding the location itself, often completely relying on just the name of the town and the footage in the recording. Especially hard when it was recorded from hills and such. After all the locations are not approximate, they are exact, even with routes the cameramen have made. But I really enjoy doing this :) So far I've completed all of Kesennuma City, and I've now started working on the rest. Places like Miyaki and Kamaishi have a lot of footage as well I have yet to add. Even California will get a few spots on the map. Additionally I will add "then and now" pictures using street view showing the recorded locations that have had the biggest change in response to the tsunami, such as sea walls, new buildings, new infrastructure and whatnot.
You can recognize locations and events by comparing videos that are close to each other on the map, often explaining how and why certain events happened on screen.
Np! Made it a while ago, I'll probably try to find and collect all earthquake footage as well sometime soon.
btw you forgot to close the url @tsubasalover
