<div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/vv259/MAL_CLUB/Club%20Layout/ranpangui.gif" border="0" /><!--center--></div> <strong>Its not easy being teenage martial-artist Ranma Saotome, but its even worse when your martial-artist father Genma takes you from home at an early age to go on a decade-long training mission. He doesnt speak a word of Chinese, and yet he insists on bringing you to the cursed training grounds known as Jusenkyo, where falling into one of the many springs there instantly turns you into whoever or whatever drowned there first. And then the two of you have this little accident. From now on, a splash of cold water will turn your father into a giant panda, while you well, you turn into a red-haired (and problematically well-built) female version of yourself. Hot water will reverse the effect but only until the next time. Whats a half-guy, half-girl to do? <span style="color:#0000FF"><strong>Ranma Saotome</strong><!--color--></span> Training with Genma at Jusenkyo in China, Ranma was thrown into a spring called Nyanniichuan. He emerged as a young girl, according with the spring's curse. When splashed with hot water, he changes back to a boy, but when splashed with cold to room temperature water, he turns into a girl again. As for our well-built 16-year-old hero/heroine, the martial arts is his life. He also possesses a rather large and easily wounded ego, believing his physical strength to be his only virtue. <span style="color:#0000FF"><strong>Genma Saotome</strong><!--color--></span> Genma is Ranma's insensitive, selfish and greedy father. He originally took Ranma to Jusenkyo because he'd heard about it in a Chinese brochure even though he can't read a word of Chinese. He also got cursed, turning into a panda. <span style="color:#0000FF"><strong>Akane Tendo</strong><!--color--></span> Akane is Soun's youngest daughter at age 16. She is a very insecure, awkward and sensitive girl with a hot temper and a big heart. Also a boy-hating girl, yet is stalked by nearly all of the boys at school, including Tatewaki Kuno. Though she denies her interest in Ranma, she is still jealous of his other fiancees (Shampoo and Ukyo). <span style="color:#0000FF"><strong>Shampoo</strong><!--color--></span> Originally looking to seek revenge on Ranma by killing him. She is no longer fixated on wanting to kill Ranma, and now just wants to marry him. Unaware at first that girl and boy Ranma were the same person, she is heartbroken upon learning the truth and returns home to be retrained at Jusenkyo by her great-grandmother Cologne, but she became cursed and turns into a cat — the one thing Ranma fears most. <span style="color:#0000FF"><strong>Tatewaki Kuno</strong><!--color--></span> Tatewaki Kuno is an upperclassman at Furinkan High and was the big man on campus – at least until Ranma came along. Hailing from a very wealthy family, he is also captain of the kendo club. He is both in love with Akane and ranma's female form. <span style="color:#0000FF"><strong>Kodachi Kuno</strong><!--color--></span> Kodachi Kuno is the sister of Tatewaki and attends classes at St. Hebereke, an all-girls school. Kodachi fell in love with the male Ranma after he saved her from a fall before the match. Over the course of the series, she shows up with various plots to make him love her. <span style="color:#0000FF"><strong>Ryoga Hibiki</strong><!--color--></span> Ryoga is a childhood rival of Ranma's and is infamous for losing his way thanks to a horrible sense of direction. He seeks Ranma out with a large grudge, and discovers Akane who thinks that little “P-chan” is quite cute. Of course, she doesn’t know that it’s really Ryoga, but that doesn’t stop him from falling in love with her.
