Altought Shinigami no ballad has less episodes it still looks like shigofumi. Both have girls who work for the afterlife and in shigofumi they have an staff and SNB has a cat. Every episode is a diffrent story in both anime.

Both are pretty chill series with some nice stories. If you liked one, there's a good chance you'll like the other.

both are sweet animes about death. Shinigami no Ballad is about a shinigami choosing whose life to take by watching the human live. Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora is a romantic story about a girl who didnt have much time to live. if you liked any of these 2 animes, then you will surely like the other one.

- A shinigami, trying to " save" the people - Using memories, to "rescue" their souls.

Tenshi of Angel Beats is identical to Momo of Shinigami no Ballad, both physically and mentally. Their role is the same, too: they have to bring children/teenagers souls to the heaven.

Both 1st episode of these anime are very similar and both are about childhood friends that are very close to each other and then suddenly an unexpected scenario will happen can they overcome it or not? and both are school-life,romance and drama. The difference between these two anime: Cross Game is about baseball while Shinigami no Ballad is about the life of a Shinigami (like a japanese grim reaper).

The main characters start off a bit empty but eventually gain depth. Episodic adventures. Lots of thoughts. Magic.

Suitable for all audiences, the protagonists with their powers help with the problems faced by some people in your life.

Short stories about dealing with death, involving a shinigami that appears before people that are close to their death and that only the main character can see. Usually that person is some close to the protagonist, and the episode then focuses on their relationship and unresolved conflicts.

Both are mini stories about life and death.

On the surface Ano Hana and Shinigami no Ballad don't have much in common, as Ano Hana has a set cast of young people and Shinigami has a varied cast that changes every episode, as well as a big different in quality of art and music in Ano Hana's favour. However, both stories deal primarily with accepting death and overcoming loss. Momo and Menma are both young girls who linger in-between the earth and afterlife in order to guide the living. Ultimately both series handle the idea of loss and moving on with sensitivity and a high amount of emotional drama, focusing especially on adolescents.  read more

While the genres are different, both shows have a similar light-hearted feel to them. Both are also semi-episodic, with each episode being a separate story. The biggest similarity comes in the main characters, whom are both Shinigami/death gods, and have a black cat as their companion/contractor.

Both deal with death and shinigamis, but Full Moon wo Sagashite is more light-hearted, at least in the first half of the series.

The main characters are similar in the sense that they deliver messages from those who died and generally try to reach some closure, though one is a shinigami (reaper) and the other has the job of delivering shigofumi (letters from the dead). Iin Ballad it's not always about someone who died, but it could be someone who was close to dieing, but they are both about reaching closure. There's a sense of mystery to each episode presenting situations that are revealed and influenced with the interference of the main character as an "outside" entity.

Short, episodic, slow-paced series about people who work through their problems with the help of an unusual source.

Both just give me that similar feeling, and i love them both. However, Shinigami no Ballad could have been much better unfortunatly, not living up to the novels. While Kino's Travels does, a masterpiece in everyway.

While watching this anime it Reminds me of Shinigami no Ballad it doesn't have any linear Story, I'm sure if you'd try watching this anime you'll feel the same

Same atmosphere, calm animes, same supernatural and slice of life anime...

Both anime feature a supernatural "force" that helps people overcome their struggles. As opposed to Shinigami no Ballad, xxxHOLiC has more comedy and of course a longer story, but I think that with Shinigami no Ballad only having six episodes, it livens up the subject matter and adds to the mystery. xxxHOLiC does, though, have have similar serious moments as those in Shinigami no Ballad. Overall, if you are a fan of dramatic or supernatural stories with a touch of Japanese spiritualism, you would probably enjoy these series.

Both are very short animes featuring shinigamis, though Omishi Mahou Gekijou: Risky/Safety is more childish.

Different lifes and different stories; the one who unites them is a white-haired shinigami girl. She shares sufferings of the people whom she meets. She wants to help them, but she can't do anything, she is "just doing her job". So, both anime shares a concept of "good shinigami" who have a heart of angel. While SnB is heartwarming anime for all ages (PG-13), Suika's plot is much more tragic and cruel. Without hentai scenes (there isn't many hentai scenes, actually - remember that Suika is based on visual novel that is 99% non-hentai) it would be rated as R (17+). There are also two funny detailes  read more
