Both are anime feature powerful vampires (D is technically a Dunpeal), that hunt other vampires and other supernatural nasties! The sequel "Bloodlust" is great as well!

Both have a dark atmosphere, animation at some points are similar but in most angel's egg is better. If you liked Vampire hunter D then you should like angel egg. if you liked angels egg you should at least give vampire hunter d a try.

Heroes who don't quite fit into a normal world let alone the world of the supernatural find themselves attempting to fight off the chaos caused when the two worlds collide, with the chaos ever growing.

Both are about vampires and how sometimes these night stalkers are treated unfairly when they try to blend into mortal society Vampire Hunter D is more sentimental the other one is trying to hide her true nature by beeing rough both are must see for fans of vampires

We have two vampire series from the 1980s or earlier which helped shaped series which came along later on, yet both have their own twists on the genre which may not seem new anymore, but were back then.

Both anime focus on a main character who is half-human, half-monster, who also hunts monsters of the same kind. Devil May Cry has demons, while Vampire Hunter D has vampires. Both anime contain elements of gothic horror and are quite action-packed. The characters are somewhat similar too, especially Dante and D.

The "Hero" of Hellsing Ultimate is clearly inspired by D, they are both bad ass vampire, and both show are gore.

the only reasons i would be insane enough to compare this is, in both vampire hunter d and sailor moon star main girls who have long blonde hair tied in two sections blonde hair blue eyed chick sporting a short skirt of some sort....and also the presence of monsters and demons are seen and both are old school... make no mistake about it the themes and plot are different... there aint much to compare. its just that usagi and doris have long blonde hair blue eyes and some short skirted outfit.  read more

In both of these, the protagonist is a professional for hire, so good at his job he's pretty much the best in his field, yet maintains cool-headed approach without getting over-confident. Both are hired to get rid problems, but while one is assasin, the other one is a hunter of mythical creatures.

the co stars in both kenichi and vampire hunter d are teenage girls with long blonde hair and blue eyes and both have obvious feelings for each respective main character main character of whom they bond very well with , .... so if you like anime grls with blonde hair and blue eyes these are anime to consider

Both OVA's are works involved with Toyoo Ashida where he wrote the story for the Guyver OVA and directed Vampire Hunter D. These anime express a dark and mysterious atmosphere where gory violence is quite common. Vampire Hunter D deals with dark fantasy and Guyver: Out of Control covers science fiction, however both are highlights of edgy animation found in the 1980's.

Same artist, and both movies deal with an immortal hero that fights against equally immortal enemies. Full of action and blood. Highly Recommended!

Both films have the same director, star a stoic hero and contain a very dark tone in its stories.

Both are scary as hell, violent, and considered as cult movies from WAY BACK that seems totally forgotten in anime these days!
