The protagonist of Vampire Hunter D is a part-human, part-vampire man who hunts other vampires.
The protagonist of Devilman is a part-human, part-demon man who hunts demons.
From here, it is quite clear that both series share similar motifs, they're both action packed and filled with violence and gore. The main difference is that Devilman focuses a bit more in the psychology and morality of its characters.
