Recommendations

Weird plot, weird characters and over all weird CGI with questionable artistic choices.

Anime with short episodes animated in 3DCGI with cast full of weird characters and surreal comical storyline.

Both anime feature very short episodes and a very odd sense of humor.

Chaotic CGI buffoonery, both have a similar vibe though Popee is a bit more random.

Both has dark atmosphere, blood, philosophical plot, well-done animation, psychological horror, incredibly dramatic stories, religion themes and nihilistic crushing agony.

Short anime with silly characters being a menace to society.

It seems like a lot of people who have watched Osomatsu san have also watched Popee the Performer (and Eddsworld but that's not an anime). Osomatsu and Popee are slapstick anime about guys doing funny things together and getting into absurd situations. They also have a lot of fangirls and fanart.

•no dialogues • everything we can know about main characters is when we follow how they acting, like in first subsection these are not shown dialogues between characters •surrealistic plot, both series are art house • fûćkëd up your mind, like seriously- after watch this you got more questions than actual answers • visually the two are specific and very unique •violence and animal äbuše

Bizarre, obscure and unique pieces of animation with dark themes. Both cult classics in their own way, in my opinion.

You go into both, fully expecting a kids show, when instead you get something that is slightly terrifying and definitely off-putting. Both use 3-D animation (although in Popee it enhances the obscurity even more). Gloomy has voice acting, but Popee does not.

I feel like if you liked Popee for it's surrealism, you'd appreciate Kuuchuu Buranko. They both have such similar color palettes (bright, bouncy, and neon) and tone while watching them.

Episodic anime where a lot of crazy stuff happens. Both are funny and not to be taken seriously.

CGI animation that is not exactly high budget but actually gives a certain charm to the show, short episodes and style of comedy that often goes into bizzare situations.

Rare comedies that has similar vibes at times with the music, some sound effects, nonsense, surrealism, silent freeze moments where characters stare each other without any dialogue (or anything coming from their mouths in the case of Popee cuz it's mostly silent) and crazy things you don't see in the "normal" world. Popee is more fast paced straight forward violence madness and to Gal & Dino is more slow surreal slice of life, but both have has some trippy and hilarious moments.

Both are CGI series with short episodes. Both feature bizarre CGI and surreal humor, but while gdgd Fairies is more relaxing, Popee the Performer is more brutal. Both are underviewed because most people don´t pick it up because of the animation, but if you won´t get sidetracked by such a thing, you should try these two.

Both are short series with older CGI animation, CGI animation that is quite mplified and with questionable character design that makes the characters look weird, surreal ever. If you're a connoisseur of weird 3D CGI, you shouldn't miss out one these.

Althrought the story is diferent, both are comedies full of randomness and unexpected jokes. Both main characters are making troubles for other, consciously or not. If you liked one, you´ll like another. While Gintama has more action, Popee the Performer is more dementia.

They both involve disturbing imagery and deal with the exorcism of spirits.

They are almost identical in terms of humor and even characters. Same goes for the style and overall impression of weirdness.

Both are comedies with short episodes. Both have simple, computer genrated 3D animation. Both cosist of mostly unrelated short stories. Both are full of randomness and lolwuts. While Popee the Performer is more dementia, Petit Eva: Evangelion@School is more of a parody.

Both are comedies with short episodes. Both have simple 3D animation and both are really random with bunch of unexpectable moments. While is more ecchi, Popee the Performer is more dementia.

Comedy about surreal hijinks of obviously mentally derranged individuals, animated in glorious 3DCG that only enhances the weirdness.

Both are CGI. Both are... Great?

If you like some surreal and bizzare humor, done with not exactly detailed 3D CGI animation and with short episode format, then try these.

Both are one of those weird, random, but still enjoyable anime. Both have "bad" art which actually befit the anime. Both have short episodes. If you liked one, you´ll may as well enjoy the other.

Full-blown weirdnes of early CGI that often crosses into the surreal territory.
