hi again!! i recently noticed that "the case of hana & alice" is on your plan to watch list! that makes me really happy since it's one of my favorite movies. i know it can be really confusing for maybe the first half, so if you want me to explain the whole story if you watch it, then let me know! i will say that i watched it at 5am and i fell asleep for about 15 minutes near the middle, so i might not be able to recite everything, haha

i agree! and tbh....the one person that i used to listen to when it comes to anime opinions was the anime man and he's.............erm....not good when it comes to opinions. lots of drama with very popular stuff too....

i'm trying to get back into anime because the only thing i do every day is watch youtube and now my dopamine levels have plummeted because of that hsbbdd. i need a new hobby but also! anime was a big part of my childhood so i thought it'd be nice to indulge in it again!!

okay! i wanted to do something like that too after i watch some more mainstream stuff. and yeah, a lot of people call flcl a masterpiece and i honestly thought it'd be a story about a boy living in an apocalyptic world or something...lol
AND YEAH ME TOO i remember i stopped watching it around episode 20 and then a year later i restarted and finished it...even when i rewatched it, i didn't notice all of the sexualization so i've just come to like the show less and less as time goes by
and of course!!! it's been a LONG time since i talked about anime like this to someone! I've had low motivation to watch anime until now since i decided to get the least interesting or shortest series off of my list...with flcl, i practically watched 2 episodes each day. and at least it's not boring,, just....confusing. and flashy.

hi!!! commenting here is okay! i'm actually happy that you asked because i just saw that flcl was on your one list and i've been wanting to tell someone about why i didn't like it! i didn't expect the show to be extremely cryptic. nearly every scene made me confused as to what happened or WHY it happened. i had to look up what the show meant and it's suppose to represent "coming of age" or something. i wouldn't mind symbolism, but to me, it was almost... far-stretched? and a lot of jokes and characters made me uncomfortable, such as a 17yo girl and 20+yo alien girl flirting with and even sexually harassing a 12yo boy. and the adult alien girl also hits on the boy's dad a lot and it's extremely risque. i think you watched kill la kill before and didn't like it? flcl's animation/humor is like kill la kill's, except multiply it by 1,000. i only liked flcl's animation and a couple of the scenes because to me, nonsensical doesn't equal good. sorry if that was long!
